I understand your behaviour, Phatty.

Whenever I see the Person who is America's president on TV I am drawn to watch his mouth. Now, that's easy because whatever he's saying mostly has little merit ... so there's these unbelievably ugly lips sucking and pursing between the words.
He would be a Pussy eater, that guy. If you were female and went on a date with him he'd try to eat you. He is The Predator of the World.

That only sounds painful because the US has done THE MOST PAINFUL, least effective quarantine.

You get the same amount of "quarantine effect" (reduces rate of transmission R0) by requiring people to wear masks.

Plus Trump is showing that he only has ONE speed, and it's Full Metal Moron.

He speaks of re-opening a restaurant, with social distancing and fewer tables, as if that's some kind of tragedy.

Is there anything distinctive about the sound of the Covid Cough ?

It's interesting how we can become angry quickly now, when someone coughs near us in the store, if they're not wearing a mask.

In today's shopping trip, about 1/2 the people at the $ store were wearing masks, the employees were not wearing masks.

At the hardware store, everybody waiting in line in the garden area was wearing a mask.

I pushed through the line and grabbed a 3 cubic foot bale of soil.

I could have said excuse me and waited. I think there's some merit to getting in and out quickly.

That's why I like Obama! He never eats any pussy.

Sucks a few dicks now and then......

Much thanks for digging up the link where the free download of this book is located, ImBack. I stumbled on that free download page years ago, and then lost track of it, until now thanks to this detective work you did.

Considering that the book's author died in 1930, the woodsman's skills he committed to writing, accompanied by those superb drawings, are all still very relevant and usable today, almost a century later. The sheer variety of dead-fall triggers in this book, make for some great reading in this time of primal survival.
You are most welcome my friend :)

Having served for 32.5 yrs I attended both a summer and winter survival course. 3 weeks long in summer, 2 in winter. Were we learned all that stuff. I will be downloading the book. A refresher wouldn't hurt.

I'm a retiree so self isolating is no biggy for me. I don't go out unless I have to. Today I went to the power house. My booze and wine are quarantined in the garage. Only a 10 minute wait outside of the store.

A lot of place here in Canada have senior and folks with depressed immunity systems, have either senior hours daily (seniors are normally out of bed earlier anyways), or special days. Tue & Thur are senior days at Costco, neighbour just told me. Store hours for the rest of the public starts at 10.

To clarify, not by our hunting them, as we gave up taking cows many years ago, even by permit back then, when the hunts supposedly based on biologists' population surveys and science ultimately decimated the populations in select areas of the Tanana Flats.

I was referring more to the suburbanians and instant-gratification hillbillies near me, who somehow fail to realize that cutting off their noses to spite their faces doesn't make them more attractive, and killing the breeders of nearly any species leads to a lesser, not greater, food source.

They were doing strange things well before any of this crisis struck, so I fully expect nothing less from them.

His brother OTOH I would toss to the wolves. I am surprised how many people believe his bullshit.

Oops, sorry :frown:

No reason to apologize IB. I just figured I should clarify.

I'm not above taking meat that's required, but we swore off taking cows years ago, even when legal to do so.

If you drive the Tintina Trench, between Beaver Creek, Yukon Territory and Haines Jct., Yukon Territory, on the upper end of the Canadian side of the Alcan, over the last 20-30 years, the population there of caribou, moose, and more, took a hardcore dive as a result of relatively unrestricted 'subsistence' hunting.

On the western side of the Alaska-Yukon Border, there were times it seemed as though there was a moose behind every other tree, and sometimes caribou from the 40-Mile Herd; driving at night could be unnerving. On the eastern side of that same border, it was pedal to the metal as often as not, due to lack of population of those same species.

Now the First Nations elders from the Aishihik-Champagne Band are working with Canada Conservation in Haines Jct. to try and convince many there not to kill cows.

Just one example.

If this virus thing goes further awry, we'll need to hunt wisely, legally or not, and make sure we don't kill the golden goose.

House Democrats introduce plan to pay Americans $2,000 a month until economy recovers

The Emergency Money for the People Act, introduced by Reps. Tim Ryan and Ro Khanna, would give $2,000 a month to Americans over the age of 16 who make less than $130,000 a year.
The payments would continue for at least six months and would last until unemployment falls to pre-coronavirus levels.
"A one-time, $1,200 check isn't going to cut it," Khanna said. "Americans need sustained cash infusions for the duration of this crisis in order to come out on the other side alive, healthy, and ready to get back to work.

Its hard to imagine, but grandad said by the time he was a boy the deer and turkey were all but gone from Missouri. Seeing turkeys in the wikd would as he described cause a family to grab their guns and head to the woods to get as many as they could kill. Their own cows and chickens were for sale, not consumption. Chickens were the exception, usually the oldest hen would meet the ax if company showed up for sunday dinner, usually the inlaws or the preacher.
With FDR and heightened awareness of what was nearly lost, conservation and game laws stopped the onslaught to the point that doe tags are regularly handed out like christmas candy. Grandad could never bring himsaelf to kill a doe and opted for fawns and bucks. He could hit a buck running at 300 yards, and was amazing at finding big bucks without spending more than a few hours in the woods. Of course his 400 acres was like the back of his hand havong spent his entire 92 years on one piece of property.

Yep, we're often poor, as a species, at self-regulating.

We've eaten our share of cow moose, and some of them were INCREDIBLE. I mean tender, almost as mild flavored as beef, and some of them quite meaty for their stature.

But watching an area from 20' off the ground that once had multiple groups of 8 to 20 animals visible in different areas on many Fall days, go from that, to sitting up there for most of a week, and seeing ONE cow and ONE calf, literally, was the punctuation on the reality of over-harvesting, and especially over-harvesting cows.

Getting rid of prime breeding stock, whether on a farm, or in the wild, is often a bad move. That population out there is still recovering from those more haywire days, and what early on was literally a free-for-all. Initially there (during the earlier days of the cow hunts) it was legal to take a cow that had a calf, if only because there was no prohibition on that.. Fortunately they changed that bit too.

With this lockdown where i am at...ill take 2 grand a month to watch the grass grow...if i go chasing red legs in mexico id have to pay 2350 to renouce my citizenship.

Practically speaking, this notification takes the form of going to a U.S. consulate, convincing them that the expatriating act occurred and then applying for a Certificate of Loss of Nationality.

The fee to renounce U.S. citizenship is $2,350.
Section 349 of the INA (8 U.S.C. 1481), as amended, states that U.S. nationals are subject to loss of nationality if they perform certain specified acts voluntarily and with the intention of relinquishing U.S. nationality. Briefly stated, the process of renunciation and let you leave the U.S. tax system with a clean break.

Well, Cuomo's forthright character shines through on Australian News also. (We get ABC and PBS daily.) Heard someone speculate he may be the next Democrat Candidate ... after Biden I suppose. Biden is supposed to have early onset Dementia. Biden with Michelle as running mate could pull a few votes ... ?
