One of the most severe penalties I have paid, for growing in a tropical rain forest swamp, is that on multiple occasions I have suffered various infestations of creepy crawlies that have to be terminated with extreme prejudice lest they ultimately do the same to me, over a period of time.

One of the most effective means of treating parasites in the human body, is with the dosages of Ivermektin pills. These are tiny pills about the size of a capital "O" on this typed page, and the typical dosage is four tablets for an adult.

My doctor decided that for my most recent recent parasitic attack that continued after I had taken four Ivermektin tablets, he needed to up the dosage, so for the first time ever, I downed 16 of those tablets, despite knowing very well the side-effects of an overdose.

The upshot of my tale here is to let y'all know that in my capacity as the official IC Mag guinea-pig, I have over the years taken both chloroquine and Ivermektin on multiple occasions with no adverse effects besides some vivid nightmares while I was on Ivermektin.

Now, the fact that this guinea-pig suffered no serious side-effects from these two drugs that have been cited as possible therapies for Corona virus, does not mean I am implying that these drugs are safe for everyone out there, but what I can say is that IF one's own doctor gives the green light for the use of either or both of these medications in the prescribed dosage, the majority of people will suffer no adverse consequences.

The efficacy of Chloroquine or Ivermektin as treatments for Corona virus may not have been rigorously established at this point, but if anyone was wondering about the odds of a negative reaction to either of these compounds, my experience was benign, as it would be for most people given a physicians clearance to use thee two medication.

That is what they are saying from Australia, but have not tested. Never heard of people using it. I have topical liquid for dogs. 1 ML applied to back like flea drops per 10 kilos, to treat mange (bugs buried in skin).

What is your body weight?

Just a note re chloroquine versus hydroxychloroquine; it was stated in several places that the preferred treatment was hydroxychloroquine IN COMBINATION with another drug, and zinc.

And risk to susceptible persons' retinas was stated.

Otherwise, the Doc in NY who went out on a limb, following info from France, had stated several days ago that he was having success at that time.

My body weight of 175 pounds is average to skinny for my height of 6 foot 1 inch. For my weight, four Ivermektin pills was the normal dose that got rid of skin parasites, but this last one was a doozie so I was instructed by the doctor to quadruple the dosage, which I did with some trepidation.

That same doctor who went out on a limb, had first found himself in some problems and needed to rebuild his credibility.

Now he's a right wing star as compared to ostracized from a community.

Was it the medicine?

I had to take a hydroxychloroquine tablet every day for two years when I was first diagnosed with inflammatory rheumatoid arthritis. Along with a weekly dose of methotrexate it was used to hit the disease hard. Must have worked as I now only have to take a bare minimum of methotrexate every week.

I know nothing of his politics, but Medscape and others carried his claims and efforts earlier on, and they seemed solid, for an effort that lacked all the formalities of a conventional study.

He had posted a video on March 17 warning that out of his first 14 tests which had just come back, 9 were positive.

Then, on March 21, he said in a video that he's "seeing tremendous positive results." This video was addressed to tRump.

tRump tweeted about it March 21

Four days with nine positive patients? Tremendous positive results? Sounds taylor made.

There seems to be much to this story, but that's enough right there for me to question it.

The letter he sent to Medscape (or ??) was CCed to Trump (*I posted a copy of the letter here some place). But I recall a follow-up with far greater numbers than what you quoted, and he stated he was working with a community (his practice) that included a significant population of high risk/elderly.

I took his CC to trump (which I believe Medscape or ?? included a copy of in their publication) as a statement that he believed this was significant, and was offering his observations.

Zev Zelenko, or something to that effect. If you search posts, with that name, I suspect the various documents involving his claims will come up.

Here's the letter I referenced, which initially was sent to me by a friend in France, via email.

Similar information turned up here shortly after, however.

Dr. Vladimir (Zev) Zelenko
Board Certified Family Practitioner
501 Rt 208, Monroe, NY 10950 845-238-0000

March 23, 2020

To all medical professionals around the world:

My name is Dr. Zev Zelenko and I practice medicine in Monroe, NY. For the last 16 years, I have cared for approximately 75% of the adult population of Kiryas Joel, which is a very close knit community of approximately 35,000 people in which the infection spread rapidly and unchecked prior to the imposition of social distancing.

As of today my team has tested approximately 200 people from this community for Covid-19, and 65% of the results have been positive. If extrapolated to the entire community, that means more than 20,000 people are infected at the present time. Of this group, I estimate that there are 1500 patients who are in the high-risk category (i.e. >60, immunocompromised, comorbidities, etc).

Given the urgency of the situation, I developed the following treatment protocol in the pre-hospital setting and have seen only positive results:

1. Any patient with shortness of breath regardless of age is treated.

2. Any patient in the high-risk category even with just mild symptoms is treated.

3. Young, healthy and low risk patients even with symptoms are not treated (unless their circumstances change and they fall into category 1 or 2).

My out-patient treatment regimen is as follows:

1. Hydroxychloroquine 200mg twice a day for 5 days

2. Azithromycin 500mg once a day for 5 days

3. Zinc sulfate 220mg once a day for 5 days

The rationale for my treatment plan is as follows. I combined the data available from China and South Korea with the recent study published from France (sites available on request). We know that hydroxychloroquine helps Zinc enter the cell. We know that Zinc slows viral replication within the cell. Regarding the use of azithromycin, I postulate it prevents secondary bacterial infections. These three drugs are well known and usually well tolerated, hence the risk to the patient is low.

Since last Thursday, my team has treated approximately 350 patients in Kiryas Joel and another 150 patients in other areas of New York with the above regimen.

Of this group and the information provided to me by affiliated medical teams, we have had ZERO deaths, ZERO hospitalizations, and ZERO intubations. In addition, I have not heard of any negative side effects other than approximately 10% of patients with temporary nausea and diarrhea.

In sum, my urgent recommendation is to initiate treatment in the outpatient setting as soon as possible in accordance with the above. Based on my direct experience, it prevents acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), prevents the need for hospitalization and saves lives.

With much respect, Dr. Zev Zelenko

No, all good. I was told about possible eye damage, you can get a benchmark eye test when you first start taking it. Doubt you'd have a chance for a benchmark eye test if it was being administered for Covid though.

Grand rabbi of Satmar Hasidic dynasty tested for coronavirus
https://forward.com/fast-forward/442011/coronavirus-hasidic-satmar/

Kiryas Joel, a village in Orange County, N.Y., is a dense, tight knit community of 26,000 Hasidic Jews. Teitelbaum, 72, is one of two recognized leaders of the Satmar group, along with his brother, Rabbi Zalman Teitelbaum, who leads a rabbinic court in Brooklyn.

Aharon Teitelbaum is one of the most influential Hasidic rabbis, with a following in the tens of thousands across the world.

He came out strongly against closing schools in recent days after New York City officials announced that all public schools would be shut down to combat the spread of the virus. He said that the observant Jewish community could not afford to follow such restrictions because their children do not have access to the Internet to keep them occupied.

“They don’t understand what a Jewish family is,” Aharon Teitelbaum said, according to a translation from Yiddish by the Forward. “It’s crowded at home, there’s barely any room, beds are placed wherever there’s room, there’s no gentile entertainment and if the kids are sent home there’s no room at home so they’ll wander around in the streets and people will gather together anyway, so nothing would be accomplished anyway.”

But on Tuesday afternoon, after participating in a conference call for Hasidic leaders with a White House aide on the necessity of enforcing social distancing, Aharon Teitelbaum changed course, directing synagogues and educational centers in Kiryas Joel to shut down.

Tuesday afternoon. March 17. The day that Zelenko warned of 9 out of 14 positive tests in that community which his medical office services.

Four days later, Zelenko was touting "tremendous positive results"

Thanks. I'm out of rep... again..

Personally, my eyes are already questionable, but deterioration has been slow enough that a Doc complimented my genetic history (without knowing much about it factually) relative to my eyes and other lack of degradation that he had expected to be worse than currently.

Did you read Zelenko's letter I re-posted, dated March 30th ?

I think others have stated the effects or benefits from hydroxychloroquine were rapid under optimal conditions. And per his letter, and my post above, after Loc Dog's, he's not administering hydroxychloroquine by itself.

Edit, as stated, I am fairly sure that Zelenko took his directions and information from French Docs, before he began taking the course he claims.

Yes I did. Thank you for posting it.

How did the pope avoid the black plague?

He sequestered himself away from all people except his doctor, who kept small fires burning around the Pope's desk while he read and signed letters etc. The smoke from the constantly burning fires may have kept the rats and their fleas away.

The Pope sat in a chair for 3 weeks surronded by fire to prevent the `bad air' coming to him. But it actually prevented rats or fleas coming to him.

I mean.. technically it would work with a virus too, right?

Stanford epidemiologist warns that coronavirus crackdown is based on bad data

“If we had not known about a new virus out there, and had not checked individuals with PCR [virus] tests, the number of total deaths due to ‘influenza-like illness’ would not seem unusual this year. At most, we might have casually noted that flu this season seems to be a bit worse than average.”
