already posted this one but check the shape..quality is def there. but its perfectly cone shaped and symetrical. this is not what we are looking for. this may be presentable but it is in no way done.there is no use in even getting out the magnafine glass untill it lumps up a bit more..cannabis will go through stages of ripening. both the flowers and the resin will do this in waves. you see this indoor as well. it seems to me the terpenes may even have their phase as well. in a tightly controlled indoor this can almost be scheduled to the day.
outside you must use experience. different weather and moon phases can speed up or slow down the ripening phases of all of these flowers/trichome/smell...experience can determine who's outdoor full season looks tastes smells and is the best. the recipes and varietys are only part of the game..

Cool. Thanks for sharing what its like out there right now. The growing culture is different around here..... The heavy rain and dew creates a big challenge for pure OD. But your right, I even still have most my girls out in the sun. This Summer is Indian!!! Woot

Hey big d thx for stoppin by.. nothin passes for bomb indoor like coastal weed..you may loose a little to mold but i bet the bag appeal is top shelf. i spent 10 yrs less than 6miles from the ocean. down here. what i lost in weight to mold and enviroment i more than made up for in quality..turn heads everytime. i actually think the trichomes are larger when the humidity is higher. not any better in actual quality just a huge difference to the eye. good luck and hopefully the weather will hold for you too. i just checked for us and the triangle looks high and dry through the16 th or so! Maybe longer..cheers to hard work hot summers and long waits for great things!

That's cool.how you treated those folks, and nicer too of them to leave no trace.

Not everyone who looks for work in the triangle is sketch.. Some folks just need work

Plants look nice,

Yea those full term sours and cookies take a while. Even og before Oct 15 is kinda crazy

Jointed thx for stopping by..
agreed..many of the foreign workers actually come to work..gutter punks not so much..most of the good ones have references qnd aren't part of the permanent drum circle down at the store...lol...ida probably removed tgem quicker if it wasn't so late and they weren't polite and coherent. .but that i guess ill have to evaluate case by case. keeping the deer hunters off is actually just as difficult.

Clouds rollin in hard temps just dropped 15-20 degrees..windy and chilly. forecast says dry but this is the mountains..anything can happen.

Berthas sisters side colas (pinya -x- barker valley deisel)...grew 7 of them 6 were/are winners..the 7th is still good just the other 6 are slightly better. all a little different in their own ways..opinions can often change after curing and tasting..keeping a very open mind..

took down three yesterday....and so it begins...surpassed 3k views...thank you to all the icmag viewers. and big thanks to all who have chimed in in here, it can get lonely at times and i really appreciate the company and positive attitudes.
this thread served two purposes, one so the members of my collective(and others) could follow along and see how we are making their medicine, and chime in, or ask questions if they wish...the other reason was just to do it and subsequently enter the summer outdoor grow contest... its been great so far!
side effect of doing all this was the motivation to start new seeds and take cuts from them. we got four new ones for next year.all my own except the Z.K.B...
jelly bean o.g. (chem -x- gsc) unique and loud nose beautiful and heavy trichomes
z.k. burmese ( burmese kush - master kush -x- gsc) just got confirmed onthe origin of the burmese side..an heirloom burmeese from zenia kettonpom crossed with a master kush...that combo then crossed with a gsc by my friend...
bertha (pinya -x- Barker Valley Deisel) great cross all around! another loud nose heavy crystals..
pinapple haze(pinya -x- kashmere kush) with the haze being crossed to the hawaiin so many generations back i never expected to see its likeness come out...super unique... great core of four for next year...bad news we just retired the bambu...by accident...in this line of work ive lost so many more than ive kept. but she comes out readilly about 3-4 out of 10 in her seed cross so i can make her come again.
its a bummer and a challenge...lol
more pics soon!

killing it bro, happy harvest.... take lots of advil... or make sure you keep a good eye on that trim crew.... idk why i thought i could trim ~10 pounds myself with minimal help... SHIT SUCKS.... but definately falls into the good problems to have...

looking into trim machines, how do you go about harvesting? just curious...

no trim crew here..just me and my helper, and if we need more than that maybe one other or our gf's...only family...i have a dry trimmer, the trimpal... between two of us we can dent the pile substantially..about 20 units every two to three days...it can clear through a fairly large project in a week or two with three or four people and 2 machines...a smaller mom and pop maybe a week...your 10 pounds would take a day and a half working 6hrs a day one man bucking for a day, then one man using the machine for that first day plus one half day after..
our only issue is we are staggered out a bit.. not everything comes down at once... we have retrofitted one of our dep houses with dry lines and solar powered ventilation..harvesting one at a time we can put 6 up a day or more..
i have a magnifine glass and once the buds reach a state of true maturity we begin judging by the trichome maturity...ive found that trichomes go through stages as well..resin bursts if you will.. like the flower goes through growth spurts and swelling so does the resin. so if you only go by the resin then you will harvest about two to three weeks early during the first wave of maturity. most buds arent even ready to break out the glass till after oct 5th..and many of the varietys used up here much later than that. weve only put up 1/6 of our garden to date...
rained good yesterday...flushed with rainwater.. who can claim that? i think it helps and washes out better than tank water...the plants seem to like it for sure. lots of clean up to begin.. fences to work on.. tanks to drain..cover crops...prepare for winter..frost is coming for sure..

once trimmed everything goes in a turkey bag with a boveda pack in it...these unique humidifier/dehumidifiers balance out and slow down the dry process...they bags can then be burped and stirred in a cool dark place until cured....i still trim my favorites by hand...the machine does a great job, but i like to touch the best myself and see them through to perfection..
