So an update, things are moving along great! Getting the last of the aeration materials today and finishing up the mixing. 80 gallons down, 60 gallons to go. I decided to run CC's mix as a base. Here are the basics:

1 Part - Peat Moss
1 Part - Aeration (I used lava rocks)
1 Part - Homemade Thermal Compost

For every cu ft,

1/2 Cup Neem Meal
1/2 Cup Kelp Meal
1/2 Cup Crab Meal
4 Cups Glacial Rock Dust

I have an abundance of homemade thermal compost, very soon an abundance of homemade vermicompost, Comfrey and other plants to use to keep this soil active. I'm really excited to move over to a no till setup. I'm still debating on a mulch though. Thinking some sort of living mulch would be ideal but still undecided. The mix looks great and I feel it will do fantastic with the blumats. 8 of the 14, 10g geopots have been filled to let the mix decompose for a bit. My goal is to have plants started by the holidays.

I have a TON of seeds to choose from. My plan this run is to find potential mother plants from a few different strains and do some pollen chucking if the chance arises. I'm open to suggestions as I have the space to run 14 plants total in 10g containers but with my space I could run 3 extra 5g containers if needed. I was thinking of running 5 seeds of 3 different strains or 7 seeds of 2 different strains. Any thoughts or suggestions?

I have at the moment:

Nirvana:
Pure Power Plant
AK48
Bubblicious
Aurora Indica

Sam The Skunk Man:
Original Haze x Skunk #1

Spice of Life:
Blue Satellite 2.2

Mandala:
Satori
Hashberry
Kalichakra

Fractal:
Strawberry Diesel Kush

Bueno Time:
Blackberry Jones x SWT #4 IBL
Pineapple Express x Cheese N Chaze

Also recently sent out payment for

Karma:
Jack Cheddar
Jack O Nesia

Mosca Negra:
Cinderella 99 F1

Nirvana: 4 strains out of these packs
Papaya
Ice
Blue Mystic
White Rhino
Swiss Cheese
Super Skunk

Rez
SSSDH IX-1
Chemdog Sour Diesel

Plus what ever freebies are thrown my way. I'll update once my most recent purchase arrives. I'm learning the purchasing of seeds is an addiction. If anyone has any suggestions on what I should run I'm all ears?

Nice Cobra, havent been in here in a while.

Ive just started using a CC style mix myself on recycled soil, good choice. My mix uses 50:50 Neem/Karanja mix, kelp, crustacean meal (supposed to be crab shell and shrimp meal), and GRD, Brix Blend Basalt, Gypsum, Oyster Shell powders as the mineral mix (4 cups per cu ft). Its from buildasoil.com if your wondering. Real similar to what you have going on. I think you will like the results I am at 6 weeks flower on my first CC style mix water only other than two ACTs and maybe two real light molasses waterings and things are looking pretty good.

Anyway not trying to make this about me just saying good to see you on a very similar path.

Here is some suggestions from your list of my choices:

Nirvana:
Pure Power Plant
AK48
Bubblicious
Aurora Indica

edit: Also you were talking about mulch, I recommend a live mulch mix that fixes N and I use my old fan leaves on top of the soil. A cover crop mix can be found cheap. I can drop you a link later if you like when I find it but buildasoil has a 14 or 15 seed cover crop mix though with shipping is pricey per lb for small quantities, but I just found another place someone linked the other day that had a really good cover crop mix for cheaper than BAS, it was like $3 or less a lb with very reasonable shipping costs.

After a much needed vacation I'm back home and pretty much ready to get things going. It feels so great to be back home!!! While I was gone, my orders came in and the boo HOOKED ME UP!!!! I couldn't be any happier.

I ordered

Karma:
Jack Cheddar
Jack O Nesia

Mosca Negra:
Cinderella 99 F1

Nirvana:
Papaya
Ice
Blue Mystic
White Rhino

For freebies, I got

Karma:
Strawbanana Cream
Solo's Stash #1 x Biker Kush

Rez:
SSSDH IX-1
Chemdog Sour Diesel

Bueno Time:
SWT#4 IBL

Add that to what I already have and I've got a great start to my collection  24 strains to choose from... Ahh the decisions.

Before I left, I got all the soil mixed, wetted down and put into their containers to get ready. Got to pick up a few odds and ends to finalize the big setup and I'll be set!

:D

The ICE has a huge yield and would be good for this grow...its short, compact and always finishes in under 70 days...just a thought...would love to see you run that

cheers :joint:

I've read great things about Ice. Thank you for the suggestion, I'll keep it in mind.

I'm really excited to run this mix. After reading through a bunch of the Organic Soil threads, it seems it's a great base to start with. The cover crop mix sounds amazing. I was going to just stop by the local co op and pick up a clover mix or something but I like the diversity in the mix you're speaking of. Seems to be key.

Excellent choices for the seeds as well. I'll be taking them into consideration. I just received the Chemdog Sour Diesel and C99. I'm starting to see how having so many to choose from can make it sort of difficult to decide lol. The wife and I even contemplated selecting a few we were interested in and drawing from a hat

Heres that link for the cover crop mix I was talking about $2.19 a lb or less when buying quantity. Its the one I was thinking about using next run.

http://www.groworganic.com/organic-soil-builder-mix-raw-lb.html

There is some other cover crop seeds and a whole bunch of other stuff on that website I havent even browsed it yet myself.

Thanks for the link!! Looks like a good cover. I'm really being pulled toward the living mulches

Oh the awesomeness that is on the way. Will be updating soon with seedlings. Get ready!!!

Woohoo!! The cabinet is clean and ready to go, intake filters installed, the soil is mixed, seedling mix, clone mix and the 14 x 10g geopots mixed, the tents are up and running, just watching temps now to dial them in. Only other things I need to find are run off catch trays for each container.

After some consideration, we've decided to pull strains out a hat. With choices from others, my choices and the wifes choices, we figured we might as well draw from them all lol. We are putting all 24 in a hat and drawing 8 groups of 3. Of those 8 groups, we will either pick a group or put all 8 groups in a hat and draw from them. Hoping to do the official drawing and start the seeds later today. I've been playing around with it and have had some interesting combinations.

Will let everyone know what the lucky bunch is. Stoked!! First time growing something other than bagseed lol.

@Cobra420 This cab is quite impressive

Thank you NeDank. I'm glad to be firing it back up again!!

Finally got the strains drawn and wow was it hard to decide!!! There were so many great combo's drawn that made it really hard to choose. But, we did choose and the winners are.....

Fractal Genetics:
Strawberry Diesel Kush

Mandela:
Satori

Bueno Time:
Pineapple Express X Cheese N Chaze

Something about this combo really stuck out. It was difficult though. We had it narrowed down to either this group or the C99, SWT#4 IBL, Strawbanana Cream combo. I would love to start more strains but this will be good for now. Planning on saving pollen from any good males we may get and doing some pollen chucking to make some crosses and some F1's or whichever F they may be haha.

We've planted 5 of each and have them all under one of the 150w.

SDK are the top 5, Satori are the middle 5 and PE x CC are the bottom 5.

Nice, Ill be watching to see what you find.

Thanks Bueno!

A little update. As of this afternoon, we're looking pretty good seedling wise.

Strawberry Diesel Kush is 4/5 up
Satori is 4/5 up
Pineapple Express x Cheese N Chaze 5/5 up

Hoping the last two seedlings will break the surface in the next day or two. We shall see. Stay tuned.

Beautiful cab, best of luck this round, pulling up a seat.

Thank you for joining.

Now for some updates!!

As of today, we are 4/5 SDK, 4/5 Satori and 5/5 PExCC. I've gotten everything situated and running. I just finished transplanting and watering them all into their new homes. Each plant is in its own 10g Geopot of organic living soil.

I put the 4 SDK into one of my 600w tents, the 4 Satori into another one of my 600w tents and 4 of the PExCC into the third 600w tent. As for the last PExCC, it has been placed into one side of the 150w cab.

Looking a bit hungry but they'll fatten up very nicely

Another shot of it.

Soon I plan on sexing clones of all the plants, collecting pollen from any males, and then giving the males the chop (unless I find a stud, then I'll make a dad) Take clones of the ladies and flower them all out. After getting that all figured out, I'll probably start more seeds. Just need to get the blumats hooked up and it should be smooth sailing from here. :dance013:

Stay tuned.

Thanks for stopping in DLOC!!

After looking through the 600w tents and the cab, I figured there was enough room to start more seeds. The wife wanted something "blue" so I figured it was between Nirvana's Blue Mystic or Spice of Life Blue Satellite 2.2... The winner...

Blue Satellite 2.2!!!

5 SOL BS 2.2's put into soil and placed into the open side of the cab.
picture.php

My makeshift seed starter. Its just a container from another hobby with a few holes in it already  Put in a nice amount of perlite and add water to raise the humidity and its ready to rock! Under it, there is a seedling heat mat with a towel over it to help warm them up. We keep it pretty cool where the cab is so any extra heat we can get in there the better.

Filling in the empty side of the cab.

Full shot of the cab. By the pics, I need to adjust the time. It's showing I took the pics an hour into the future. I'm also thinking I need to brighten up the settings on the camera, the pics seem a little dark.
picture.php

Hoping for 5/5 with these! Had pretty good rates with the other 3 strains so we will see how it goes. In a perfect world, I'd like all females, but thinking about it, I'd like at least one good male from each strain. This will allow me to do some random pollen chucking. Figured I could make up to 16 crosses if there is a decent male and female for each strain. Don't know when I would ever get a chance to run them all, but I'd have them.

Now the fun part, we wait...

On a side note, I've done the research and have figured out everything else needed to set up my Tropf Blumats for this cab and for the 3 x 600w tents. I had picked up a 40 sensor set a couple months back but with these large containers, I'm thinking of going with distribution drippers as well. I'm going to be ordering the rest of the items soon so I can get the watering automated. Really excited to try them out. Reading TONS of positive reviews on them.

I'm planning on going with a small reservoir on top of the cab and running feeders into each section. For the 10g Geopots, I'm going to run 1 sensor and 3-5 distribution drippers for each one. For the mother cab, when I get some mothers going, I'm just going to go with 1 sensor since they will more than likely be in much smaller containers.

Hi Cobra420,Cab is looking clean and tidy.Plants grow fast... awesome .
I am thinking about Satori Mandala seeds, is described as low odor strain and good yielder also regular seeds are available.I think cross between c99 and Satori will give me low odor and maximum yield.C99 female seed is almost stable hybrid I have to find proper male Satori :)

how is your Root Pouch plant pots I guess it is your first time with these toys hm Do they work well?

cheers

Thank you DLOC. I've read tons of great things about Satori. When I get a nice Satori male, I'm definitely going to save pollen from it to make more crosses. More than likely will make a C99 x Satori cross and a Satori x C99 cross (as long as I get a male C99 when I run it.)

As for the Geopots, I'm really liking them so far. Being my first run with them, I can't say too much yet but by the way things are going, I have a feeling they are going to work great. Especially once the Tropf Blumats are hooked up.

great to see you up and running again...here for the show

Thank you uptosumpn. I'm glad to be back!!

A little update, everything is looking great. The PExCC in the cab is growing fantastically. Hoping to start seeing some seedlings from the BS2.2 within the next day or two. All of the others started to show around 4-5 days and we're just about to that point. Hoping for 5/5!!

Yesterday, I got word that the rest of the parts for my Blumat setup had shipped. So I should have that stuff in a few days. Plan on setting it up as soon as I can. Will take a few pics in the process to show the setup. So excited to get them going.

Also, after reading an interesting thread about feeding seedlings and their results, I'm going to use my abundance of bag seed to do a few experiments. They were able to show the seedlings being fed almost from the beginning, did a lot better than the seedlings with no food at all within the first couple of weeks. I've always been under the impression that seedlings have enough food stored for around 2 weeks but looking at my seeds at transplant time, I don't think that is the case.

Instead of using liquid ferts though, I'm thinking of cutting my seedling mix with my final mix. Thinking of trying 5 different routes. 100% seed soil, 75% seed soil with 25% food soil, 50/50 of each, 25% seed soil with 75% food soil, and last, 100% food soil. One thing I noticed this round, was how hungry the plants looked very quickly from breaking the surface. My seedling mix is equal parts peat, homemade compost and perlite. I'm curious to see how much better the plants will look before transplanting into their final containers.

Which ever way works the best, I'll implement into my grows from then on out.

Things are chugging along nicely.

I got word that the rest of the Blumat parts will be here 1/26 so should have that all put together sometime this week. I'm sure the plants will LOVE the consistent moisture. The Geopots seem to dry out SUPER fast. I'm really feeling the Blumat's will be an excellent investment. Pics on their setup soon to come.

As for the BS2.2, no sprouts to report yet. Its been almost 6 days since I put them into the soil. I'm tempted to start more seeds, but know I should just be patient. I'm pretty sure the Satori and SDK took a little longer to pop as well. We'll see how it goes. I'm guessing the PExCC spoiled me with their super fast sprout times. If my memory is correct, all 5 of the PExCC became noticeable within 3-4 days of putting into soil while the others took up to 6 days to begin breaking the surface.

The PExCC in the cab is doing very well. The stem is fattening up nicely and is starting to get much larger leaves.

I decided to start some LSTing with it to get more light to the other sites.

With the light in place

Since I have the space in the other side of the cab, I might start my experimentation with the soils and bagseed. Highly doubt I will keep any of them going long term due to possible hermie tendencies but I may change my mind if they appear good, who knows. More so to figure out a good ratio to keep the seedlings at optimal health before their transplant.

So the rest of the pieces for the Blumats are here. I've got all of them hooked up in my 3 tents. Of course, I've had a slight change of heart on how I want to do them for this cab. Originally, I was going to put a large res on top of the cab and run from there. Instead, I have run the mainline tubing from where the pressure regulator is, to inside the closet of the room the cabinet is in.

I'm in the process of ordering some white mainline tubing to run along the base board (cable rokas were made for this haha) to match the trim. Once it's here, I'll run the rest of the mainline over to the cab and get them ran into each section. Figured doing it this way, there is no res to maintain so even less maintenance.

No BS2.2 seedlings and I'm starting to lose hope for them. I'm thinking of giving them a couple more days and then starting 6 of something else. With the right side of the cab being freed up. I'm thinking of using it for seed runs. I figure I can get up to 6 x 3g containers in that side so that should be plenty of space for roots and to start finding potential mothers. The more strains I can get the better.

As for the plant, it is doing fantastic. It's taking to it's training quite well and is growing quickly. I'm not going to know what to do with all the free time I'll have once these blumats are hooked up.
