Been doing custom made china 2013 circa led home assembled 600w panels and strips
prob 561 samsung...for years..

trying 1 kw hps usio red now..will see what difference there is..taste /terps

"for science Randy"
when we had a room (10x14ft), we used a portion of it to grow- we had '4' 1000watters switchable- that was the best weed we ever grew... quantity wise, and more important quality wise . it was always kickass- and in the begininng we were using cheap/cheap nirvana seeds - the white widow/rhino/ice/jock horror and some others were excellent... unfort can't use that room, and forced into tent growing...

Led grown DIY Led Cree,Cob.
Sour berry gassy candy...and stoned to the bone high.
From Seedsmans seeds.
Temps around 82.4F or 28C.
Humidity 30-40%.
In few weeks they will be sour candys with neon green buds with purple spots deeped in resin...even fan leafs...
Those are beast led lights 1300w one with electric + passive cooling..DIY by mad scientist. 🤣
Its perfect mix of both parrents I will say 50/50.
Fire cutting for shure. One of my faves.
Its so strong that few people including me were almost sleep at night while driving a car.
Stoned to the bone. Strong as fuck.

As I say they are always ways to make things good.
It always need some adaptation, adaptation make stress so people often avoid new situations, cuz they hate adaptations and stress.
World is math..cuz only real truth is math.
What we see is not truth..just part of it.

Thats the way it is.

if hps is 2(provide light and heat)
and led is 1(provide light and no radiant heat)

take example of grow room/box as 4 (light, heat, soil and air)

than with hps you have 2+1+1=4
combination with led will be.
1+1+1+1=4

at different ways you get same number.

so conclusion is = with different lights you get same dank buds.

Put everything in your life in Math...it makes life simple.Just as it is.

😉

..the way high pressure sodium nourishes a plants health through photo synthesis is a sight to behold and difficult to replicate under led...👀

Not the same plant but...

HPS Bud

CMH Bud

I prefer the look to hps buds, but when i smell the resin on cmh flowers i am always blown away by the length and breadth of smells cmh is capable of bringing out.

This affects the end product in a really nice way.

I find the plants really bush out better and grow generally faster vegging under cmh.

I doubt i could get 4 node topped plants with 8 lateral side branches at 6 weeks veg from seed without the 315cmh.

Ot, but I don't actually ever top. Literally. I have never topped a plant. To me it just seems like a waste of time - why cut off the fastest growing part? I start lst on young plants and keep at it. I guess if I had many plants it might be too much work.

why cut off the fastest growing part?

To get an even canopy under limited head room with each plant having essentially 6 to 8 good branches that can bud.

Never tried untopped but I'd worry the top was getting too close to the light with the lower branches getting hardly any light.

I've tried lst but it tends to make the side branches too tall for my ltd head room

Oh man, i assure you if you arent topping, you are missing out on yield. I like to top a minimum of three times. Heres why you cut off the fastest growing part. So you suddenly have more than one fastest growing part. Now we end up with lateral branches seeking apical dominance. Try it out! It wont hurt. To each their own of course I just remember the first time i did it and was astounded at how much more I got per plant.
