Oh man, i assure you if you arent topping, you are missing out on yield. I like to top a minimum of three times. Heres why you cut off the fastest growing part. So you suddenly have more than one fastest growing part. Now we end up with lateral branches seeking apical dominance. Try it out! It wont hurt. To each their own of course I just remember the first time i did it and was astounded at how much more I got per plant.
I did a lot of topping but the first cut on a plants head always stunned the growth for up to a week.
But i have seen at friends grows that bending the top works better. When u tie the top down the plants grow again way faster plus u still get a mainbud like top(not as thick but a little thicker than the rest).

To get an even canopy under limited head room with each plant having essentially 6 to 8 good branches that can bud.

Never tried untopped but I'd worry the top was getting too close to the light with the lower branches getting hardly any light.

I've tried lst but it tends to make the side branches too tall for my ltd head room

I'm not against topping. Exotic mentioned speed and in that regard I think topoing doesn't really make sense. Difference is probably minimal though, but I think it will be there.

Like I said I start early and keep at it. The main thing is to keep the main as low or lower than the rest of the shoots untill you can't really tell which one it is. I *think* the very even led lighting helps.

This is a single 4*2 plant. No net no topping.

Two plants, same thing

^That would be a lot of work for many plants, but this produces a lot for the area, which is what I'm trying to maximize. The single plant was a pound and those two yielded >200g each. That kind of harvest keeps me going for year.

It only makes small buds if you dont remove lowers. I run scrog with topped plants. Ive actually never met a strain i didnt get more out of via topping. I also tie them down into my trellis. Like i said to each their own. We all have different methods to success.

Running 5 White and White/Red Boards in 2 tents and right now also have an old Philips 250 watt 4000k CMH for IR as well as UVA. Never been much of a purist. HPpen to have several bulbs NIB. A couple 400w also. Manufactured March 2013.
I ran CMH and, of course, HPS back then, mostly Boards and COBs since 2015.

Shure its the best to mix both hids and leds together if you can.
It will be perfect that we have little sun in our rooms. Which through the day emits different light spectrums with different strenght just like,a sun.

Philips 3100k for flower, 4200k for veg. They are the best and most durable.
Philips has thenquality no doubt, a bit more costly than Lumateks for instance that I see but for quality it will be often be worth it.

Have you tried Ushio? It looks like a good one too, but I have not seen it in Europe..

I just got 4 new Luxx 315w 4k CMH for 130$. I use these in my veg space. Ive not heard of Luxx having issues with CMH.. LED is a different story with them being out of business some good deals are to be had.

As I say they are always ways to make things good.
It always need some adaptation, adaptation make stress so people often avoid new situations, cuz they hate adaptations and stress.
World is math..cuz only real truth is math.
What we see is not truth..just part of it.

Thats the way it is.

if hps is 2(provide light and heat)
and led is 1(provide light and no radiant heat)

take example of grow room/box as 4 (light, heat, soil and air)

than with hps you have 2+1+1=4
combination with led will be.
1+1+1+1=4

at different ways you get same number.

so conclusion is = with different lights you get same dank buds.

Put everything in your life in Math...it makes life simple.Just as it is.

😉
Ugh. No. HPS creates light from The combustion of gases, like the sun. LED does not. LED weed looks great. I’ve never smoked LED weed that was better than hps or sun. Most of the weed grown commercially is led because everyone jumped the gun. Great marketing on the part of light companies. Now everyone is too committed to even entertain the thought that maybe they made a mistake. So they keep doubling down. I’ll report back when I do a side by side in a year or two. Until then it’s sun or hps/cmh.
