Just finished the thread and am impressed. I got to say it made me want to try my hand at those strains. Beautiful pictures good documentation and picked up a few pearls of wisdom what more can you ask for from a thread

They have arrived to my little corner of the world! Thank You so much for the opportunity and thanks to Old Pink for getting them out to us, I know it wasn't easy with all the roadblocks thrown in his way.

I have organic soil cups ready to go I'll do five right away and then more as harvest happens and lowers my plant count per the State regs. Can't have anymore than 15 at any one time, but I have my indoor to run these over the winter and then take and run the best one(s) out in the green house on a trellis next spring.

Welcome to the thread Thirdtime! Thanks for taking the time to read the thread from beginning to end. I know it had to take alot of your time up, so Im glad you chose to spend some of that time here. :huggg:

I hope that someday you may get a chance to enjoy some of the varieties in my garden. Were one step closer to getting these Afropip Durban Poison up on the Bay, and maybe some interesting DP Hybrids later on.:woohoo:

Thats great news Shooters! Im glad they arrived. Now you get to experience the same pleasure ive had with this line. You're in for a treat.

I owe you a great deal of thanks as well for taking the time to run these especially with limited plant counts. I can't imagine being limited to only 15 plants :(. Im sure you'll find some outstanding ladies that will earn a place in your select garden. Winter Runs are the best for DP. The low temps really bring out the best autumn colors.

Looking forward to seeing some greenhouse outdoor pics of them down the line. Ive only ever ran this lady indoors, so it'll be exciting to see how she looks outdoors.

To all my Testers

To all my Testers

Okay testers, some of you are beginning to get your seeds, which is great news! But now I need you all to do your part and document the grow in the seedbay test grows section.

An update of at least once a month regarding your testers would be ideal and appreciated. I hope everyone that got the beans will do their part and chronicle it for the benefit of everyone else. Lets make old Clarence proud and show em how our testing group does it!

I'm in the process of moving, but I hope to be up and running by dec/jan. I'll start a thread as soon as the seeds hit soil and post a link here. I can't wait to see everyone get these started!

Mac hasn't been active on here in over a month, but I reached out to him at another site he's a member on. I hope we'll hear back from him soon and get him on the DP train. He's falling behind others at this point. Better Hurry Mac!

Tang, you're gonna be super jealous when you see what these other members find in their DP, but theres always some waiting for you when you find the space. :tiphat:

Thanks DJ. I didn't expect everyone to be able to start them right away, and we've already waited quite awhile, so whats a lil more time . The wait will be worth it though.

Well, from one old cur to another, Boo-Yah!! :D

I'm stoked to get to watch this particular grow in real time! *sharpens pencil and gets ready to take notes* You started this thread back in 2015, and I'm interested to see what has changed/remained the same through your trials - medium, nutes, etc. ...

And if you come across as a 'know it all' by starting a thread to teach your way of growing these magnificent plants, well, maybe that's 'cause apparently, you do! :D Proof is in the plant, brother!

Peace

Dyna Gro Grow Nutrient Profile

Dyna Gro Grow Nutrient Profile

Well this is the second time Ive prepared this post. I got the token expired message, and lost the entire thing, so lets see if I can recreate it again! This time Ill make sure to Copy my message multiple times before I try to post.

Anyways...Here is my nutrient profile when I feed at 310 PPM

Total N: 129.44
NO3-: 81.36
NO4+: 48.08
P: 48.42
K: 76.75
Mg: 9.25
Ca: 36.98
S: .92
Fe: 1.85
Zn: .92
B: .37
Mn: .92
Cu: .92
Na: 1.85
Cl: 1.85

Some of those values will appear low, such as K, Mg, Ca, S, which is why they offer the Mag Pro to provide more of those except Ca. I use Osmocote to provide for some of the missing values, although there is no Ca in my Osmocote. I could always use some Calcium Nitrate I have to provide additional Ca, but Id have to be careful not to raise the N levels too high.

TBH, I can't recall my garden experiencing Ca deficiencies, so Im not too concerned. N and Mag deficiencies are much more common when plants are underfed and/or moved too close to the light source(upper canopy yellowing often occurs).

Another thing I really like about Grow, is that it uses a 2:1 ratio of Nitrate N to Ammonium N. If you're fertilizer is mostly made up of Nitrate N, you will see your media pH steadily rising during the entire crop. This occurred with GH 3 part series, which is nearly all NN. It wasn't uncommon to find media pH at 8.0 and higher with the long flowering Sats after harvest. I really didn't like that, so the switch to Dyna Gro has been very helpful.

Before I said I dont pay much attention to media pH now, and part of the reason is because the amount of Ammonium N in Dyna Grow helps reduce media pH, and prevent the uncontrolled high runaway like I saw with GH 3 part series. And who the hell wants to mix 3 different nutrients up anyways. Was a huge hassle. Stay away from it.

I just checked my Osmocote, and it actually uses more AN, than NN, which we learned is to keep that media pH in check. If anyone was ever looking for a good two part combo to grow their plants with this is it. It may not be for everyone, especially Organic growers, but my buds get mistaken for Organic quite often

The truth is as long as you dont over-feed during flowering, your buds should be tasty and delicious no matter what method you use to feed.

Im a man of habit, so not much has changed Maven :). When I find something I like, I tend to stick with it.

Ill be posting a one week update for the DP seedlings tonight along with some pics of them of course.

I hadn't realized this thread has been going on since 2015, but Ive a pretty shoddy memory. Im glad its still going on, and lets hope it continues on well into 2018.

I have subscribed to the thread and hope I can get some seeds when they become available. I am sure they will make an excellent addition to my little garden

Thanks for the sub Thirdtime. I hope you'll stick around awhile, and maybe even show us some pictures of your lil garden. Dont be shy now.

I'm a noob too Maven, I'm sure Dave will guide us threw, kind of like an extended internet version of a Master Chef Master Class..

Tester Thread - https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=346192

Thanks for starting up the thread Crossbones. You are the first I believe. Should I someday send in something else to be tested, you'll be the first on the list to receive them if you wish.

Ill make sure to post everything I do for my lil ones, with the hopes yours will benefit too. I think you'll end up just 2 weeks behind my latest batch at worst. It should be a fun follow along for us all.

Greetings Dave Coulie, your plants are still looking fantastic as always. I did receive the Durban Poison testers and look forward to growing them out. I too am in the process of obtaining a good grow spot where I live. Unfortunately this takes more time then one always thought. Money is starting to come in now so I hope within 4 months or so to have some more plants going for a journal. Thanks as always Dave, your future is bright my friend, happy growing.

I hope you get them soon. Are you going to be able to start them right away? If so, you wont be more than a week behind my latest batch of Durban P Seedlings.

I got 'em

I just have to get my depo kit set up on my hoop, then I'll get cracking

Thanks for sharing here. I can understand the paranoia, but you're safe to share pics here. Ive over 1500 in my albums at this point, and I think the biggest problem I have is Im almost out of storage space.

Thats a nice looking garden you have going on. Especially since its been 3 decades! I couldn't imagine going that long without growing. I bet you're excited to be growing again! It must smell amazing in there too! Im still waiting on smell-o-vision to be invented one of these days...

Take good care of those ladies and you'll be well rewarded.

I got 'em

Thats great news. I look forward to seeing your journal once they begin. So many different ways you all are gonna grow out these durban. Indoor/outdoor, organic/non-organic. I can't wait to see what you all produce out of them seeds.
