Interesting thought about this "virus" thing....

If it was something that was from/originated from "Chem" genetics....then why is this not ever apparent in the ECSD....or Rez's SD release....?? After all, it has chem lineage as well, ya know...

I don't have any idea if it's tmv or what but I could see how if this possible infection was more recent then those who have had the cut longer like Rez wouldn't be seeing the symptoms.

I have my first run with the 4 at day 54 right now and everything is looking good, nothing weird yet.

When Chemdog (the guy) handed me the Chem D cut, about 4-5 years ago now... He told me it had a virus called TMV. So it's been showing this variegation (virus or not) since at least that time.

Man... Chem4 is some of the best fucking smoke I have ever had the pleasure of breeaking up, and smoking, as well as plain looking at and smelling. She's truly an experience.

Also, Crazy... if I may be so bold to ask... what is the virus capable of doing, in terms of negative effects?

All I've seen from this alleged virus is leaf variegation (white splotches in the green). The variegated areas tend to be a little more sensitive to light, and so some of the leaves look unhealthy after a while. But really... nothing more serious has ever happened to my plants, or the Chem Ds in my friends' gardens.

full of lately grown out C4s . Your C4 came out very nice n tight with much more
the orange hair than this cut out here produces from c-father which is a little on the ratty looking side of things . Again the SDxOG or "chem3" is producing much more the tighter well defined buds with that hint of sour ...and quite the yielder too like the C4 ,

You failed to mention that the risk factor of the D (meaning,the smell) is about 100X greater than the #4. ....

Just twelve words... Keep a big carbon scrubber in your car and you'll be safe. I know how you read posts, bro. Like you're studying for an exam you don't care about... fast... And thus you missed the jist of the security issues... traffic stops suck when you have Chem D on board. Since, to me, the D and #4 are very equitable in a production sense... security issues stand out.

Truly, I believe the Chem D is spectacular weed, which is why I am looking for a keeper in the SFV x Chem D seeds. Sturdier stems and no variegation are definite improvements.

Firstly,I think you're reading fast.
(If you weren't,you would have spelled "gist" correctly!)
As to Chem D "stinking in a car",well,my cars are full of whatever I'm smoking,so "stealth" has never really come into play. Just don't smoke any dope in a car with a church group carrying cel phones,behind you-and everything should be okay. Either tha,or get a really fast car,and say "fuck 'em!"
Chem4 has a better structure,and low odor,but Chem D is better weed.

Chem D is better tasting, I agree... so I'm looking, now, for a better version to cultivate. I can deal with the security issues, but only for a plant who doesn't give me trouble in the grow room. The search is on... And many will benefit.

CC, I grown and smoked the chem d before and absolutely love it, its probably my favorite strain to smoke. I just finished up the chem 4 a couple days ago and will be able to taste it in a week or so. Im finding it hard to believe im gonna like the chem 4 over the chem d, but im gonna wait before i make my opinion. The over powering smell of the chem d is why i think i love her so much, that and how you can still taste a bong rip of some chem d an hour after taking it.

Anywho i hope u don't mind me posting a couple pics of my chem 4, grown in coco coir flushed 2 weeks.

Ive grown both the chemD and the Chem #4. Ive passed the chem4 on as i see it as the commercial version of the D.... im just in this for the smoke. The Chem 4 i would say is a bigger yielder and easier to grow, but the chemD is the one im going to smoke

I love the 4. I am sure the D will be good too. I see the merits of both.

The D is lanky and falls all over the place for sure.

But there is something about the 4. IDK if the D has the same smell and flavor,only stronger, but I love it.

Yup.
A fresh batch of Chemdog/Sour Diesel,Chemdog BX#3,SFV OG Kush/Chemdog,and Others will be available before the end of the calendar year at Seedbay/Bou.

I'm waiting to see how Chem4/Chemdog D (It wasn't released,it was micro-bred,pretty much with CC's ilk in mind ) ....goes for CC,if all goes As Expected,there will be a new rockstar in town!

This is very interesting. I passed the ChemD on over a year ago in likes of the Chem#4. Something about the Chem#4 does it for me and I grow for my own smoke. I believe last year's 420cup speaks for my rep.
