yaa Brastaman's Chem4 looks DANKKK! hes killing it.

The Chem D x SFV is bound to have so many killer phenos.. Thats a cross that i hope to smoke one day. Im sure you will be able to find something better than the Chem D.

Here are some pics of a decent little nug of Chem#4

just never have been able to get the orange red hairs on the C4 we have but massive yields yet leaning way more to the blonde side of things concerning the flower pistils. Love the looks of this chem4 ....wayyy more than decent little nugz ! Will rock the socks off anyone no matter how veteran a smoker ! ;)

( cut we have came from chemfather )

Are you guys saying that chem 4 is low odor?
Mine reeks like lemons or pine bigtime. It's all over my hands and nose right now.

Well... if you've ever smelled Chem D... you'd know why we consider Chem 4 low odor. ;) A cop smells a bit of something lemony... not too suspicious... A cop smells Chem D... which smells exactly like "ARREST ME OFFICER!!!"... you're screwed!

Yes... facts are nice... But I still haven't seen any. I've had the ?TMV? affected Chem D for a couple years... and it has never spread to another plant. Also, I notice that the variegation dissipates when the plants are given a perfect regimen of nutrients... it doesn't disappear altogether, but the effects are greatly reduced.

Someone must have bonafide scientific-like information about TMV and its effects on cannabis. Anyone?

Great thread CC, I've never tried any of the Chem's but know a guy in my area that is collecting all of the elites so one of these days... I'll probably start with the OG Kush SFV or maybe this Chem 4 you like so much.

I posted this on another thread >>>

Viruses that can infect cannabis -

At least five viruses cause problems in hemp: the hemp streak virus (HSV), alfalfa mosaic virus (AMV), cucumber mosaic virus (CMV), arabis mosaic virus (ArMV) and hemp mosaic virus (HMV)
(McPartland 1999).

http://www.druglibrary.org/olsen/hemp/IHA/iha03111.html

Viruses rarely kill Cannabis. They only exist and replicate in living plants. Viruses can, however, seriously reduce yields. Once acquired, they are nearly impossible to eradicate. Viruses invade all parts of plants. Pollen and seed infections transmit viruses to subsequent generations.
Five viral syndromes are described in the literature. In addition to these naturally-occurring infections, Hartowicz et al. (1971) screened 22 common plant viruses for their ability to infect wild hemp. Over half the viruses could infect Cannabis.
The hemp streak virus (HSV) is frequently cited on fiber cultivars in Europe. Foliar symptoms begin as a pale green chlorosis. Chlorotic areas soon develop into a series of interveinal yellow streaks or chevron-stripes. Some-times brown necrotic flecks appear, each fleck surrounded by a pale green halo. Flecks appear along the margins and tips of older leaves and often coalesce. Streak symptoms predominate in moist weather, flecks appear during dry weather. Leaf margins become wrinkled and leaf tips roll upward, leaflets curl into spirals. Whole plants assume a "wavy wilt" appearance.
The hemp mozaic virus (HMV) has been described on fiber cultivars in Europe and drug cultivars in Pakistan. Symptoms were described as a gray leaf mosaics. Three other viruses have been cited on European hemp—the alfalfa mozaic virus (=lucerne mozaic virus), cucumber mozaic virus, and the arabis mozaic virus. Many insects transmit these viruses as they feed from plant to plant. According to Ceapoiu (1958), the worst vectors of Cannabis viruses are bhang aphids (Phorodon cannabis), greenhouse whiteflies (Trialeudodes vaporariorum), onion thrips (Thrips tabaci) and green peach aphids (Myzus persicae).

I think I have a Virus

The above picture from the Dutch grower is exactly what I have been dealing with for almost 20 years. I got a cutting back in '84 from a friend and for the first 5 to 8 years it was perfect. Then we both noticed the symptoms, every single crop had it, not one crop has been free of problem since then. Since you can't get rid of a virus it just makes sense that a lot of the older elites might have it. It would depend on whether the original owner gave it out to the community after it was infected, then no one would have a disease free plant. If he gave it out virus free then some would have it and some would not...

And like you said it is very light sensitive, but I can still get 2 and 1/4 lbs from one light...

I still hate it and would love to get rid of it some day.

Chem 4

Here's some chem 4 grown in coco using floranova, liquid karma, cannazyme, and blackstrap molasses at 3 wks of flower until flush. Pulled at day 76, even though 82 is perfect for me;) Smoke is very tasty, kind of like mint/fuel/lemons. Very heady, but If you smoke to much, she can knock you out:joint:..Great thread CC....

A breeder friend has been working with the 4 from a cut I got from someone who said it was his favorite smoke. The more he works with it the more impressed he is with it's durability and vigor. The latest episode happened when there was an equipment failure and the temp in his flower room went a full day at about 125F. While the 4 did take a hit is was OK and rebounded while all the other stuff in the room hermied up fast. It seems like a great platform to build on.

Oliver, very nice Chem 4. :) I love how the resins turn out tan-ish colored, even when it's not "officially" ripe. I'm beginning to think the resin hue is somehow indicative of the potency of the smoke, in the case of Chem 4 at least. The Chem 4 is very special smoke. Until recently, it was unfairly overshadowed by it's sister, Chem D. They are both heavy yielding super smokes in their own right. We've got some Chem 4s ready to harvest now that are breaking all over the place from their own weight. Just buds laying on buds everywhere... and dense! And DANK! And lemony! It is good.

Thx CC...Seems like she just grows herself. You are sure right about buds laying everywhere, and branches breaking. That's the only complaint I have about this strain is the "weight";) haha..Anyways, bring on the chem. Got some organic chem 4 I'm gonna post up also...I just love this strain...

Yeah CC, I have found out the tanish colored resin is usually a great indicator of some kind smoke for the 4 as well !!

Damn MP, you are rockin the 4 bro!

The anticipation of this upcoming harvest is killing me! The combination of yield and quality or un-matched IMO.

The Chem4 is the first plant that has astounded me with yield. I have literally buds growing out of other buds. Big thick dense buds. I would feel like I was cheating myself if I didnt keep the room full of those.

For me, the D is new in the swamp. But the 4 is definitely a staple
