Nice thread. Ive never encountered anyone so worried about the smell to cops thing. Ive got chem 4 on the way maybe I should get the D too. Funny thing I get the same symptoms as shown/ described on my Blue Dream. Shes light sensitive and finicky for me. Seems to never be totally happy no matter what but still puts out super weight and dank herb. Ill be sure and report my chem 4 results. Thanks for all the info.

Well DH... I'm not THAT worried about the smell thing... it's just nice to have a bag of dank in the car that you can get stopped by a cop with and not get busted just because of the obvious smell. I once had a bag of Chem D in the car and went to Wal Mart. I was going in because I needed a turkey roaster bag to conceal the STRONG smell of the D. On my way back to the car, I could smell the Chem D POUNDING out of the vehicle from 5 cars away! I'm SURE that if the bag was full of Chem #4 instead, this would not have been an issue. They both get me very, very stoned, but one is much more dangerous to tote around.

hey CC really injoyed your report back on page two of your secrets for growing, agree with it all, I have a question on getting the smell in the plants to its highest level, I have noticed that my plants regardless of the strain never have the smell that alot of other people get with the same cuts, example, my buddy grow cuts from my moms , he uses the same coco I use the same ferts, temps are real close also, yet his always seem to have that extra stink compared to mine, wtf???

maybe its the drying procedure josey,,,,i find things stink more when they are dryed for longer at lower temps with less air curculation..

i find plants tend to smell less when you increese PK levels,,,,,,,only when i drop the nute levels in the 7th week do things start to smell heavy

any good josey?

we dry the same to, but will try the lower pk, what do you cut the ppm down to?

Brastaman, damn! That Chem 4 looks just like Chem 4! hehehe It's always heartwarming to me to see the exact same cutting growing in other gardens at the same time as it's growing in mine.

Art, all IS well. I'm searching for a Chem D replacement as we speak. I have some SFV OGKush x Chem D growing from seed. The point being... to find a replacement for my Chem D clone that yields well, tastes great, gets you as high as you need to be, grows and clones well, and fits all the general criteria for a great keeper clone. SFV OGK and Chem D are the right places to look, I would think.

I love the Chem D to SMOKE, but to smoke AND grow... I need something more like Chem 4. In the middle would actually be ideal.

How goes the PIff Haze quest?

I used to think Chem 4 was the shit for growing AND breeding until a trusted friend said she is a TRUE hermie after working with her for awhile. May not look like it but a bit of a sneaky bitch that way...and that's a hermie for you...lol. I still think she rocks as a cut for many people but best IMO to eliminate from the breeding pool. Was gonna make some Chem 4 beans but getting rid of her cause not interested in contaminating the genetic pool any further.

As others feel there's better smoke out there but know many really love her and she's very good. My main interest was playing with some beans so she's gone.

I've grown one or two Chem 4 plants by now... and I must say... I do NOT think Chem 4 is bad for hermies at all. Maybe one here or there in late flower... but this is normal for many strains.

well ive sampled the 4 a few more times from a couple growers, including one i know has his shit dialed in....and it just doesnt seem to appeal to me as much as the d...maybe what we have floating around socal is a fake 4 cut...nothing surprises me anymore...it was a killer buzz, but the taste and aroma pale in comparison...not like sfv...normally i dont judge til ive done it myself, but one of the growers is a bro of mine....i guess different strokes and all that...or maybe im still just in love w the d...

Subrob... It's a light, lemon lollipop taste when done right. Not nearly as strong smelling as the D, if you didn't know better, you'd think the D and the 4 are not related at all... by the smell anyway.

im sure i will end up runnin it sometime...try a taste of organic 4 the way i like it grown...w some of the folks on this thread lovin it its gotta be better then what ive tried!....would have to bump something out and right now im still loving the d...plus running two diff og's w a third and possibly 4th on the way(weird how many there are out here, and all slightly diff)

chem 4 smells more like sweat to me.. Like licking your arm after going joggin. Ive been running chem 4 for 3 years FWIW.. I have the 91 skunkva, d, 4, tres dawg, jjs underdawg and have had the 3 and snowdawg. Nothing compares to the sheer power of the D.. the 4 Ive never seen test over 20% at harborsides lab.. while the d regularly is in the mid 20's in thc percentages.


4 is definately the mershiest of all the chem clones.. and it does yeild.. just not the best flowers of the line.
