The extra yield compared to a 250 will probably still be worth the power bill. You don't have much height though, so I think aircooled lights are a must.

Is this too small do you think? I'll have plenty of ventilation and my ambients are around 68F-72F year round, if not lower.
raygun said:Well I think you could get the 400 and it should be no problem as long as you have good exhaust for the cab as a whole. especially since you stated that you will have fans sucking the hot air off the bulb. I have about the same space as you for growing and all I have is a high CFM CPU fan hooked in to a DIY cool tube. works great!
I would not try to get 6 plants in there however everytime I did it just got way to over grown. See the link to my cab in my sig.

Azeotrope said:I could go a little lower on the lights but with 800w in 6sq ft it is not needed and with the sativa backgrounds involved I get nervous as I am going away for almost 4days.
Oh yeah I found my other 400w horizontals and replaced the 400w vert that went. It was 2-3yrs old and had been going horiz for 18mos. I had a horticrapper in there for a couple of days while searching for my other box of bulbs. Boy do I have a lot of useless bulbs. 430w SonAgro, 3 400w (almost never used) Horticrappers, 250w & 4002 halides of varying styles/brands.
Not to mention my good 250w cmh selection. Currently not used.
