I will award you free BOG Seeds

I will award you free BOG Seeds

Quit through the third door and in 3 months you may claim your reward. I will send you a free pack. This offer is good for anyone.

Can you imagine saving peoples lives with a few seeds? Why didn't I think of this sooner. Oh oh, what if people start tobacco so they can quit and collect. LOL... that is not allowed. ;)

Drinking is not possible at first. Even one beer and you will crave a cigarette and if you drink more you will have one because you lose your inhibitions and will power when drinking.

Give up the drinking if you can or stay pretty sober at least. BOG

I'm an odd smoker...I buy one pack every now and then and some times I buy a pack once a week for several weeks...but I dont crave like others I can go for 2-3 weeks without smoking if I just put my mind to it....then it happens...I get drunk one night and smoke a ciggy from a friend...and it never fails the next day I'll buy a pck...and perhaps buy several more packs before I temporarily quit again....as Long as Im not a steady smoker its all good I guess...:D

Wow.

This subject is very meaningful to me because I had smoked for a while but was lucky enough to quit before I became addicted. But my Best friend wasn’t so lucky. He was born to a mother who was doing heavy drugs when she was pregnant with him, so he had a natural tendency to become easily addicted. He went to rehab for cannabis addiction for a year, when he came out he started smoking cigs to keep from relapsing back into cannabis. Unfortunately he now is addicted to both cannabis and cigs. I’ve tried to tell him that tobacco is bad for him and that it troubles me how it will affect him later in life but he says he’s too addicted to stop. Is there anyone that can give me some advice to help him? I though about telling his family but he relationship with them is rocky at best (Doesn’t get along well with his mother and her Female partner, and his father has practically disowned him.) and I fear they would send him back into rehab or would resort to something more drastic. I plan on having him as my best friend all through my life but I fear if he doesn’t stop soon something horrible might happen. I am willing to do what ever I can to get him off Tobacco, but I’m just so unsure on how to handle this.

Just pm me in three months then dude.

Pot is not addictive but tobacco is. You don't crave more and more pot and pot smokers smoke about a packs worth of marijuana in about 1-2 weeks.

Marijuana is not good to smoke but it also may have anti-carcinerous properties too. Cannabis has an expectorant quality tobacco lacks and many people are actually allergic to tobacco.

CO levels in the bloodstream are temporary and not cause of disease. My health has greatly improved by quitting tobacco even though I still smoke lots of pot. My wind is much better and I am as healthy as ever 10 years down the road from a bypass. So I speak from my experience not from ant- cannabis propaganda mixed up with tobacco warnings. BOG

You cannot get anyone else to quit...just worry about yourself.

If I can save you I will

If I can save you I will

Fast Eddie, if you go...I go. Now I am not going to let you fall, ya understand? My offer is to anyone even your friend DivineComedy.

But Eddie, it isn't too late and it isn't too hard. Let me assure you that very possibly the chest pains you experience are only a precursor of real trouble. Once you stop you are on the road to health and recovery. Sit in this chair eddie... I am going to Hypnotize you right here.

Stare at this Pocketwatch as it spins eddie...stare at the watch eddie. Star at the watch and relax eddie...you are on your way to the first door eddie...

Your eyes are getting heavy eddie, so heavy and you feel tired, oh so tired eddie. Your mind desires to rest so allow me to take your brain in my hands eddy and relax...

You are remembering your first cigarette now eddie. Did it make you cough eddy? My first one made me cough red blood and it was a sign I believe now. Think of a 6 year old child coughing blood into the sink after his big sister made him puff her cigeratte eddy. That was me eddy but what was your first cigarette?

You were probably not even 12 were you? How old are you now eddy? About 16 and now you are fast eddy huh? Cool smoking that cigarette huh? Da big man with the smoke who ain't afraid to die eh eddy?

*BOG Leads Eddy down his trachea* Have a look inside you Eddy and see the brown mucus plug over there that blocks a whole third of your right lung eddy...you are allergic to tobacco eddy and this is why you are clogging off here eddy...

*BOG leads Eddy to look inside his Coronary Arteries* See eddy? The left main is already 2/3 blocked with plaque and it seems to be slowing the flow some. I see nicotine all over in here but at least this all can be reversed still.

*BOG leads eddy to see the BodyMaster* Eddy let me introduce you to your body Dr. He works as best he can all the time to keep you alive eddy so thank him.

*Bodymaster Jumps up angry* "EDDy" he shouts, " can you hear me? I have been sending you urgent messages but you don't seem to understand. I can't stand all the tobacco anymore. Up until now I have found ways to keep you working ok but I can't promise that anymore." You gotta help me bro...

Eddy, you will awaken from this thread confused. Sleep on this and in the morning you will make a choice. Quit of not. Live or Die. It's a no brainer and after my brainwork takes effect you will awaken and decide to quit. You will go buy the 21 mg patches and place one on your body. then you will be free... BOG :)

Eddy you ain't 16 any more and you aren't as fast either so think.

BTW, Vaping is the healthiest way

BTW, Vaping is the healthiest way

Bazeado was right about that and most of what he said and I welcomed his comment as I stated in the pm. Hope it wasn't misunderstood as my thread is about quitting tobacco and even if you smoke the pot it is preferable. Cannabis addiction is psychological only and the effects are minor for most but some can suffer moderate depression which is no joke. BOG

Oh shit!!!!!!!!! Can humans get addicted to cannabis?
Im not throwing shit to anybodys face here but still it sounds quite odd to me.
Ive been smoking both cigs and cannabis for quite a few years now (cigs daily for 12 years, cannabis daily over 6 years) and I can say that cigs got me addicted but cannabis is more like a very good spice for me than a addictive, I can stop smoking pot for a few days without any cravings but cigs....their evil shit.
Peace all...

Kind of... for must it’s only psychological but for him being the son of a drug addict it can and I’m almost 99% sure that it’s physical too.

I know I can’t physically stop him but I just wish I could help some how.

what i found so far!

what i found so far!

on the cannabis and cancer thing so far i have found this sorry its a bit long-
Cannabis for cancer?
23 July 2002
with Norman Swan

Could cannabis — or something derived from it — become a treatment for cancer? That possibility is intriguing researchers around the world.

Cannabis is already being used to alleviate the nausea associated with chemotherapy, but this is different.

Cannabis works on our brains by locking onto receptors on the outside of nerve cells, and in fact our bodies produce substances which stimulate these receptors naturally. It's thought that the pleasurable effects of chocolate, for instance, may work in this way.

But these so-called 'cannabinoid receptors' exist outside the brain as well, and experiments done 30 years ago suggested that the active chemical in marijuana (tetra-hydro-cannabinol, or THC) slowed down the multiplication of cancer cells.

Like everything in science there are contradictions here, because marijuana smokers have a higher incidence of lung cancer — but that may be the carcinogenic smoke rather than the cannabis doing the damage.

In any case, there's tantalising evidence that THC can slow the growth of brain cancer cells in the laboratory. And in Spain, doctors have approval to try THC injections directly into malignant brain tumours to see what happens.

So THC, or drugs similar to it for chemotherapy nausea, may turn out to be chemotherapy themselves.

NORML News Autumn 2003

Despite attempts by governments and media to stifle the truth, there is a growing body of evidence that cannabis could help cure cancer.

In 1973, researchers at the Medical College of Virginia showed that cannabinoids THC and CBN inhibited lung and breast cancer growth in mice, especially delta-9 THC.1 The research was sponsored by the government, which quickly suppressed the unwanted findings.2

The cancer killing properties of cannabis resurfaced in the early 90s when US government researchers found that large doses of THC shrunk stomach cancers in mice (the opposite had been expected). The study was eventually leaked to AIDS Treatment News and the Boston Globe who published it, forcing general release in 1997. 3

Intrigued, Dr. Manuel Guzman and his team at Complutense University (Madrid) administered THC to rats with glioma brain cancer. A third of the rats were cured and another third lived longer than the control rats, who all quickly died. Synthetic cannabinoids achieved similar results. The study, “Antitumoural activities of cannabinoids” published in Nature Medicine 2000, suggested cannabinoids cause a reaction in cancer cells called apoptosis, or programmed cell death. The researchers carefully monitored the sample rats for harm from large doses of cannabinoids and found no substantial changes, either biochemical of behavioural.4

Another recent study on mice showed certain cancers were retarded by THC and synthetic cannabinoids. They also did test tube research on human leukaemia cells exposed to THC, anandamide and synthetic cannabinoids, with further success.5

Several test tube studies have also shown plant-derived, synthetic and endo-cannabinoids to have similar cancer-shrinking effects. A 1998 Italian study showed that anandamide retards breast cancer cell growth.6 Anandamide is an endo-cannabinoid (one produced naturally in the body). Could this mean that our body’s endogenous cannabis system plays a role in cancer resistance?

In New Zealand there has been no mainstream coverage of the new findings, despite our high cancer rate. However, papers were recently happy to trot out, once again, an old study suggesting a link between heavy cannabis smoking and lung damage, treating it as news. One might have thought that new research suggesting a potential cure for cancer would be more interesting. Lung damage due to cannabis smoking is a result of inhaling sublimated plant matter. Using a vaporiser to inhale active cannabis resins would largely eliminate this hazard. Cannabis may even be protective against lung cancer, given it’s anti-cancer properties. This might be wishful thinking, but more serious research is clearly warranted.

Fortunately, some kiwi cannabis/cancer research is apparently underway. NORML News understands from staff at Auckland University cancer research centre that Professor of Pharmacology, Bronwyn Connor, has instigated studies on the topic. This has not yet been verified.

So is marijuana the cure for cancer? Unfortunately, the quantities of cannabinoids used in the experiments were so great that patients would be rendered constantly unconscious. It is perhaps more likely that cannabis will illuminate new areas of research. Some alarmed US doctors have even seen fit to warn cancer sufferers not to replace radiotherapy with marijuana. But NORML News questions whether the use of massive doses of virtually nontoxic THC is really less attractive than administering smallish doses of radiation.

The 1973 Virginia study was apparently undertaken because of earlier research showing that cannabinoids inhibited normal cell activity. Most of those studies have since been debunked, which, cosmically enough, means that the researchers proceeded on false premises, but came up with a correct and now well established result: active cannabinoids kill cancer cells.

The Virginia researchers were government funded to produce reefer madness propaganda. But, apparently on a hunch, they turned around and did a couple of cancer studies and cannabis came up smelling good. What motivated these pioneers is unclear, but their contribution to medical science could prove invaluable. :D:D:D

still trying to stay strong

still trying to stay strong

i got very sick on Dec.19 and ended up in the hospital till new years eve. i was very out of it. when i recovered enough to think, i realised i had not smoked for a long time. the first thing i said was "I DONT SMOKE" ...

for the most part thats been true. i have smoked weed and i have also smoked a hookah with molasses cured tobacco. now i know it is like smoking cigarettes somewhat, but the research ive done on the subject has shown that hookah lowers the nicotine to .5% in a hugh bowl of flavored tobacco (SPECIFIC TYPE for hookah pipes). i has also helped me to stave off BIG CRAVINGS ...

dont get me wrong i do not suggest people smoke hookah ... any tobacco smoking is bad and it nearly helped end my life, but if you have to smoke cause of bad cravings then i would suggest you find out more about it ... maybe visit a hookah bar (if you can find one) or a middle eastern grocery store. the internet has info, of course, but find someone who uses and ask them, its more reliable.

i first found out about hookah from the kids next door ... they smoke hookah socially all the time and they dont smoke cigarettes at all. my old man tried it a few times with them and liked it. he bought a pipe from a loal store and really enjoys smoking it while chillin and watching tv. me too. it get you kinda high from all the sucking on the tube.

thats my story and im stickin to it.

Our Stressors

Our Stressors

I was a paramedic on 24 hour shifts waiting for the inevitable. We smoked up to 4 packs of cigs some shifts. We smelled like tobacco and we were saturated constantly. We would lay on our bunks and smoke late at night and we smoked as soon as we woke. Do you really think it's the job though?

We all face some kinds of stress but if you think about it smoking nicotine adds a stimulant to your day. It is a stimulant that is very addictive but the patches can provide the drug you crave.

You see it isn't just the physical addiction it is also a coping mechanism for us. All addicts need their drug to cope. What if your addiction meant you had to drink all day? Could you effectively run your business? I hear you so clearly it hurts.

Quitting isn't easy. You can do it though and even your business isn't as important as your health sir. Take a 3 week vacation and get a big box of patches and a bunch of weed. You can quit. BOG

You weren't an ass

You weren't an ass

You contributed to my thread in a positive way as you told the truth. I do recommend Wellbutrin to those who just can't quit over many attempts. This old style anti-depressant has been shown to help people quit. Combine the Wellbutrin with the patches for tough cases.

Substituting pot for tobacco is how I maintained my resolve and resisted temptation later however... BOG
