Idont have the patches either. Its hard but that trick to take a deep breath when you really want a cigg.does seem to work also try doing something to take your mind off wanting one.I have cleaned my shed...my yard has never looked better..and the wife and me take a walk after eating supper...its been almost 10 days...you have to want to quit!!!my wife carrys a straw cut to the size of a cigg.even has the end painted red like the fire..lol..she will pull that baby out and hold it like a cigg.she says it helps her..I am proud of her..doctor said it takes 4 years to get your lungs cleaned out...:)

I've not had one since waking up this morning,, and ya know it's REALLY hard not too light one up while having my morning cup of Java.....
I've been doing that deep breath thing too it does seem too help.. Now about that shed,, Mine needs a good reorganizing too...
My yard is very "small" only takes about 50 cents to mow the whole yard....
Now, if I only can get my wife too smoke outside.....

Meet Me in Amsterdam next 420

Meet Me in Amsterdam next 420

I will be handing out free Lifesaver packs for those who have succeeded and we should push for the next 420 Grower's Cup to be in a Tobacco Free Zone just like the Gypsy's store in Amsterdam. When we choose our place let's make sure we have smokers go outside if they are still on the tobacco. Just to set a good example. :)

Keep up the good work and get the patches as they aren't as expensive as cigs. Non prescription also... BOG ;)

We will have a lot to celebrate...

BOG, just wanted to say thanks for the inspiration. I've set my quit date for this sunday. Hopefully I can get some patches before then. Are they over the counter or do I need a script for them in the states? Do they help a lot with cravings? Thanks again for the support bog.

Made the choice - Day 2

Made the choice - Day 2

ok - yea - finally.. I have not had a cig since day before yesterday. So, now i have to talk about it.. and share the reasons for which i have stop smoking. I want to share them because i believe that is what will help me the most.. Mind over matter right? well, my mind needs a little help.. So, this is my story...

born to teenage kids back in the early seventies, they divorced before i was 2 and my grandma and grandpa took on the job of raising me, even after raising 5 children of their own. After the death of my grandpa (heart attack) when i was 11, my grandmothers health was starting to decline. So, for the next many years, i lived with everyone from my dad, aunt, mom, other grandparents, friends, sometimes with people i shouldn't have.. my other two grandparents died before I was 14 , both heart attacks.. My one and only Grandma was left, but diabetes and had 3 open heart surguries, before she passed 6 months after my son was born.

i was introduced to way too many adult situations way too early in life (as i am sure happens to many). started cigs age 11 - then drinking 12 - then pot 12 - then lsd 13 - then coke 14 - then meth 16 ... Continued in that lifestyle until i was 23..

Having my son changed everything. i stopped smoking for, get this, almost 3 years.... when i read that months ago, 3 days, 3 weeks, 3 years - i was so pissed, cause i was almost there... well, u know the old story right? Yada, yada, yada, happened and one here and there then, well had to go back to that old crutch, right?

well, its been about 6 six years since i made that stupid ASS decision to smoke cigs again.
Yesterday was 8 years since my grandmother has passed, and i miss her.. and it hurts so bad not having any grandparents in my adult life at all when i could have really showed them how much i appreciated them for taking care of me when i was little.. but they are not here, due to heart attacks. i NEVER want my son to feel the way i do now.. i don't want to have to have surgury.. i don't want an early death.. i don't want my son to smoke.. i don't want him to lose respect for me, because i smoke ( i already have the pot thing to deal with him about). i don't want to smell like smoke.. i don't want to spend the $ on cigs, i want to be able to breathe, i want to be able to be there for my son and hopefully my grandchildren, i want to live a long life with my husband, i don't want to be a cig smoker!!!
^^^^^^^^^^^ i write all this so i can come back here and read it when i have the cravings.. cause i know they will come, but i KNOW - I CAN DO IT!!!
and so can any of you that decide to "Make the Choice" not to Smoke Cigs...

Gypsy and I Quit Tobacco and so can you!

Gypsy and I Quit Tobacco and so can you!

Thanks for dropping by Gypsy. By your example do you lead sir. Nobody is allowed to smoke tobacco in his establishments but smoking pot is OK. :) In fact to work for gypsy you must pass a drug test. You don't pee in a cup, instead you are handed a big bong with a big load in it. To work for him you must have the right attitude. ;)

The patches are over the counter but often found in the pharmacy area in a display case. Talk to the people there about which size patch you need. Many can benefit from this steady maintainence method as you withdraw physically. This helps a lot and people who use the patches have been shown to have lower recivitism rates. Good luck and spread the love. By patches for a loved one soon. This is an act of love anyone can afford. BOG :)

Day 3...

Day 3...

I am very happy for both of you quiting!!

Gypsy + BOG - Thanks guys for the kind words.....

Even just at 3 days, I already find that I can take deeper bong hits, and don't cough nearly as much.. Like my lungs are lighter... that feels good.. BUT i must say, I am really stoned, seems like all the time, smokin' way too much weed.. But i think that will get better as time goes by.. so, friend.. it does help.. cause sometimes i get so stoned, i forget about my cravings, I also have been staying busy, I find the cravings creeping on me the most when i am sitting with nothing to do.. then, i end up smoking weed.. lol :D

Did you guys see on some news program, i think abc about the tabbaco companies. That cigs are not regulated by the government or for that matter anyone? They had a big stink about that in the 90's, but even after the companies had to pay a bunch of money, but not make the production of cigs regulated. They also came out with the old ad trick - "a safer cig" less this..... less that...... more flavor...... a cig you will feel better about smoking... I think they are called Eclipse, this time around.... But, hey.. how do we know? The prodution is not regulated... hmm. . The nicotine keeps you addicted to poisons, yea.. nicotine doesn't hurt you, its just what keeps you addicted.. addicted to Poison! as they say in those Ads, "Welcome to CrAzY WoRld"

anway... man, i am tellin' you guys.. i have thought about quitting seriously for about 8 months.. with all 4 grandparents having had heart attacks before age 55, an aunt befoe she was 50, naturally being a worrier, drugs in the past i have done, smoking cigs for 17 years, and finding out that i had high cholesterol in early 30's.. ggeeezzz, I was just askin' for it..
well, cholesterol is looking great, due to change of diet, stop smoking, Life is really lookin' good..

And think about this: after a couple of days of not having a cig, if you were to smoke one It would make you sick, lightheaded, and you would be down on yourself and go back to smoking, SO Don't!!!.. Be stubborn, and let's all be friends for a very, very long time!!
