I was the biggest idiot in the world because I loved indoor weed, in NorCal.. wow.. What an Idiot I was.. Those 40 acre people, who took a monopoly, really fucked us with the 6 plant limit.. I`m a breeder and I grow about 80 plants. 5 for yield and 75 for breeding. Hate me..

you would think that with all of the assorted serious criminal activities, particularly centered around meth, that the it would be a higher priority to go after real criminals instead of targeting the low hanging fruit. how much money is going to be spent by code enforcement on compliance checks? although cannabis cultivation may be an income source for tweakers, so is making meth. why not give these funds to law enforcement to actively target actual criminals involved in meth production and distribution instead of giving it to code enforcement to target cannabis grows that are treated more like a zoning issue than a criminal issue?

yeah some real good people in butte.

and some real bad ones.

its just what most small farm towns in norcal are filled with, and likely most farm towns across the country.

you got your conservative christian families and your farmkids who get bored and turn to drugs, meth.

i loved butte when i loved there, but didnt mingle much, gotta be careful who you hang out with.

psihaze while i somewhat agree with your points on all the dumbs tweaker growers, you aren't gonna find any fellow support spouting that attitude on here. make your point but do it in a way that doesn't make you look like one of those strung out berry creek folks.

i know dozens of growers here in butte and none of them are on meth, most are normal local people. most dont even have rap sheets, you must know a pretty shady crowd. i see all the 'shady folks' all over town especially at walmart but i dont mind it because it helps me, a normal grower, blend in and not seem much a threat to the local cops.

i would agree that it definately was all the dirty moronic growers that gave MMJ in general a bad look and helped with measure A's passage. hopefully the cops and code enforcement just focus on all the bad apples out here, with only a half dozen sheriff dedicated to measure A enforcement this year i think they are gonna have their hands full.

Sure sounds stressful! Not sure I could handle living that way. Sounds awfully restrictive and overly monitored. I live in a county where we don't even have a traffic light. Good luck following all the rules you set for yourselves. Sounds tough. Cancels my plans to move further west. CO ain't so bad I guess.

I don't care what people think of me. I know that most of the people have a primitive intellect, make poor choices, and therefor, I don't care about their opinion. Dude, I can name half of the people in Berry Creek and it seams that you have never been to Concow. Know any military vets? I sure do.. People that goto Butte college? I go there between my classes at Chico State.. Most Berry-Creeker's and ConCowians' are dirt-poor hill folk who never leave their land OR a bunch of college aged kids who live lawlessly in the hills, you should know that. ..got' my drank on' at sugarpine and milsap.. I`ve been to Station #62 (as a job) multiple times, I have seen calls'. Many people wont even call 911 for medical or trauma emergencies in Berry Creek. ..losers.. Sheriff porkers' are constantly flying their choppers there, 100+ plant outdoor grows are common, theft is common, mob justice is common.. Ug.. that place makes me sick.

:rasta:

The general 'rule of thumb' with me is, don't talk shit to me and it won't blow up in your face.

Anyway, I`m tired of those fuck-holes in Berry Creek and Concow damaging the proliferation of our favorite 'low hanging fruits'. I`m tired of the county fucking up the law in regards to the actions of a few drug dealers.. Would you prefer 25% of the population have a pot plant in their back yards or just a few of the hill-folk who are usually TOTALLY FUCKED IN THE HEAD?

As I said, I`m bored with this.. County sponsored - "Measure A" lets me grow 99 plants and the monopoly drug-dealers in the hills wanted to ruin everything for everyone by stopping this for everyone but themselves. If you can't see the law and how some local environments are not capable of large-scale cannabis growth en masses, then you are not local/capable of understanding anything and have no business commenting. edit: Not speaking to Yesprop215, just generalizing.

It's a good thing that you were not the guy who was burned alive in his car during a 'Berry Creek drug deal(prob)', or part of the countless families ripped apart by meth abuse, alcohol abuse, child abuse, with too much pot money to spend.. Don't try to ridicule the truth, I speak truth and I have first-hand knowledge of the situation.

Want to know what Butte County did with the liberal cannabis laws and the paid taxes of landowners? - They built a really big, butt-fucking courthouse. Sorry for my harsh vocabulary. ..They also fired most of their anti-cannabis LEO's.. Seriously though, the lawlessness in the hills needs to be reduced, and like killing ISIS, go for it's source - the money..

have a nice day!

Thermalito >> A team of code enforcement officers armed with brochures and business cards walked door to door in Thermalito on Wednesday to raise awareness about the new restrictions on cultivation of medical marijuana.
Four teams of officers, along with three interpreters and sheriff’s deputies, knocked on 65 doors and talked with 43 households about the ordinance, which stems from the passing of Measure A in November.
The goal was to educate the general public about the new regulations, which went into effect in January, said Chris Jellison, code enforcement supervisor. Code enforcement officers, who are not law enforcement members, were out to explain laws and answer questions.

“We weren’t about don’t grow,” he said. “We’re about, if you grow, grow right.”
Jellison said the event went well and the feedback from the community was all positive.
“It was like a block party,” he said.
Officers expected some negativity because it’s a hot topic, but there was none, he said. Everyone was mostly curious about the restrictions.
One common question asked Wednesday was how much marijuana people could grow, but the No. 1 question people had was if code enforcement could do anything about the smell, Jellison said.

Officers explained to people that they could file a complaint because of the smell and that gives code enforcement a reason to contact the owner of the grow.
A big change this year is the fact that anyone can file a complaint with code enforcement, Jellison explained. Officers stressed that point, as well as letting people know that reports can be anonymous.
Jellison said about 90 percent of the people officers contacted said they were not familiar with the ordinance, but that could be because people may have assumed they would get in trouble if they said they knew.

Measure A, which passed with 61.6 percent of the vote, changed the medical marijuana cultivation for the maximum growing area allowed for plants.
According to the ordinance, the size ranges from 50 square feet on lots of more than one-half acre to 5 acres, up to 150 square feet of growing area for lots of 10 acres or more. On lots of one-half acre of less, no outdoor growing is allowed. Also, plants can’t extend beyond the edges of the garden.
People don’t realize the size of grows are based on square footage this year, not plant count, Jellison said.

“We’ll be measuring from canopy to canopy,” he said.
The education campaign, which kicked off Tuesday, will be continuing throughout Butte County.
Thermalito was the first community chosen because it’s near the Sheriff’s Office and code enforcement wanted to start getting the message out that the officers are doing outreach, Jellison said. It is likely there will be other communities as the effort continues.
Residences visited Wednesday were at random and no information about the people contacted was written down, Jellison said.

Wednesday’s outreach also served as the first assignment for the six newly sworn-in code enforcement officers.
In December, Butte County’s supervisors unanimously approved $446,500 for enforcement officers and educational efforts.
Jellison said to enforce the ordinance he split Butte County into six areas and each officer will be assigned a zone.
The officers will review complaints in their area, conduct research as to who owns the parcel and whether there have been previous contacts, and team up with a Butte County Sheriff’s Office deputy to go out to the parcels and determine whether there’s a violation.

If a violation is found, the owner will receive a citation. Officers will return in 72 hours to the property and determine whether the person is then in compliance.
The first fine is $500, but every day after that is $1,000 a day, Jellison said. If the owner is not in compliance by the second visit they face a $3,000 fine.
Jellison said he expects this year’s efforts to go well. There may be some opposition, but code enforcement has plans in place in those instances.
“We’re just out there (enforcing) what the citizens voted for,” he said.

Residents can get more information by visiting www.ButteCounty.net/StayintheBox. To report medical marijuana cultivation violations call 538-6000.

So besides a primitive intellect you @psihaze compare the folks up there to isis. My uncle and the best man I have ever met lives up that way.
Korean war hero never touched pot or any other drug for that matter. There are many good people mixed in the area you are talking down.

i know folks in concow and berry creek and neither are tweakers or rough necks…but i definately know they are up there and my homies out there have had issues with crazy neighbors..

i just dont understand Psi's whole attitude. is he happy about measure A, not happy? seems to be rambling quite a bit and going back and forth so il just leave that alone not worth any of my time arguing about it.

i wonder how many code enforcement officers are gonna find rifles pointed at them when they start trespassing on some of those remote properties. all easy and well in the subdivisions of thermalito, but a little different once you start hitting the red clay roads.

measure A bitches made their first bust today, they found a few hundred plants but only 2 greenies, a couple dozen pounds, but whats fucking hillarious/sad/aggravating is that having a measly 5 grams of oil made it on the news.

seriosly i have 5 grams in hash just stuck to parts of my coffee table and kitchen. i wonder if they found all the empty gold coast vials they would think I'm some sort of drug dealer.

I'm starting to hate this county more and more every day. This place is such a fucking shithole, meth deals left and right, tweakers, drunks, violence, and these fucking mouth breathing waste of life measure A enforcers are wasting their time with weed. And more and more counties are getting stricter, CA is seriously prepping for legal rec with all the clamp downs on medical.

And so it begins...The SS-6 or Prop A enforcement "agents" as theyre now being called, have made their first kill - "On a tip..." (Dont focus on the 2 Oregon morons who left a legal grow state to come down here and grow in a war zone - Thats another story....) LOL

'Measure A' enforcement officers make large-scale pot bust

Officers with the newly formed Butte County Code Enforcement team uncovered a large-scale marijuana operation Thursday when a tip led them to an Oroville home.
According to a news release from the Butte County Sheriff's Office, Two Oregon residents were arrested after ‘Measure A' enforcement agents searched a home in the 1100 block of Viewcrest Drive in Oroville Thursday and found 114 growing marijuana plants in two separate greenhouses, 137 growing marijuana plants in the residence, and 318 marijuana cuttings.
Detectives say they also found five grams of hash oil, and 22 pounds of processed marijuana in the home. An additional 16 pounds of processed marijuana was found hidden on the property.
Two men were arrested on scene, 26-year-old Travis Greer of Oregon and 29-year-old Samuel Betts, also of Oregon were arrested on multiple charges related to the cultivation of marijuana and booked into the Butte County Jail.

First, how did they become "agents...? In the old county enforcement days, the ordinance enforcement person was a mere county employee. Throw MJ into the mix and now theyre magically morphed into "agents". I guess "agents" sounds more intimidating than plain ol "code enforcer dude"...

Second - Ah, the rat on your neighbor, Joe McCarthy - theyre all commie rat bastard illegal growers anyway" era tip thing...Step up, fellow finksters, they wont find shit without your help...But remember, you may be the next tipster's whimsical tell all. The 'Stay In The Box" 3rd Reich blitz is all anonymous and the good news is the violation of your right to privacy, just like the neighbor you ratted on, is only a phone call away...

It should be noted that Tehama County just went down - Voted to ban outdoor growing, praising Butte and Shasta Counties as models to follow...These 3 counties have gone stupidly rogue, making up whatever ordinances they seem fit. Hey, the next sound you hear may be the SS-6, goose-stepping up your driveway......cc
