wow really impressive with the CFL's budless. ill be sure to stick around. i will be throwing my Cascadias ( alaskan trainwreck x lovepotion ) into flower next week and i have a very similar setup to yours so i am excited to see the possibilities. i am also a newbie grower. i also have ALOT of TExas Mytics going rigth now which will all go outside soon. they have sweetooth in them. anyways really nice grow and i will be around till the end

BoristheBlaze Thanks for your comments! I really do like the CFLs. They're easy to acquire because they're readily available at any retail store. I don't need to special order some light that could land me in trouble if I order from the wrong person. That's not to say I wouldn't love an HPS if I could have one. I'm a small time grower. I grow for myself and that's it. When my needs are just from myself I have no need to purchase a large HPS light. Quite frankly I have been pretty damn impressed with the amount of weight my plant put on under the CFLs.

Also I just popped one of my germinated BlockHead freebies down into the soil. *crosses fingers* I hope the other one germs soon!

Also I was wondering about something when looking up information about this strain. What are what are White Satin strains and what sets them apart from normal strains?

Well I just thought I'd offer an update. My plant is on day 31 of flowering. Every day she gets more and more frosty and I get more an more excited for the end of her time. Right now I am probably going to flower for 48 days or so and go dark for 2 days. So right now I probably have 19 more days left total which puts me on edge even more. This plant drinks like a champ. Every 2 days I feed her a heavy feeding of Tiger Bloom and light feeding of Big Bloom. She has been packing on weight like crazy!

Though despite my excitement over that I am pretty sad because I fried my two BlockHead sprouts the other day in a makeshift veg chamber. I think I may be able to recover them, or at least one. Wish me luck.

Here she is! She's around 16 inches tall right now in an 8 inch pot. I really wish I had used a larger pot. Oh well, maybe next time.

I see your water cycle is down to 2 days. That's a big indicator of being rootbound.

I've repotted during early flowering with no problems. I'd do it if you have the space in your growbox for a 10" pot.

nice crispy buds forming there. I used only cfl's for a long time, now I have a 70w HPS, but I love what you've done with those lights!!!

Red_Greenery - I hope that was a suggestion for me to repot my plant because on your words I did. You say 'root bound,' and I say 'no more!' Here she was when I pulled her out. I broke up the root ball a bit and watered only the outside edges of the soil to promote root grow onto those areas. I hope it helps here is a picture to view her root bound-ness.




exploziv_gbb - Thanks for the kind words. One day I too would like to switch to HPS, but as a poor student that's not do-able right now. That being said, looking back on this grow and comparing it to my needs I don't see a need for an HPS right now. I would like to hear how you rate your 70 watt HPS though. Peace.

Oh yeah, repotting should help you out quite a bit. It will stretch out your water cycles now and it makes it easier to balance the nutes as well.

I think my grow with 70w Hps is better than any of my cfl grows (but I didn't used above 100w of cfl)... and the light penetrates easier!
But your grow is one of the best cfl grows I've seen... and also I like the strain! I will start some AK's soon.

My Speed Queen buds at about 4 weeks of flower...

Mr GreenJeans - Thanks for the encouragement. I have no doubt her new home will serve her well, but I do have one bitch about the whole thing. When I had to turn her upside down to get her from the original pot I spilled perlite all into the buds which has caused me a lot of trouble over the last few days. That stuff is hard as hell to pick out of the resinous bud sites.

exploziv_gbb - I like how that 70 watt works. I was wondering if shouldn't try CFLs + 70 watt HPS for a nice mixed spectrum. The 70 seems to pack a good punch for growing just by seeing your grow. If I have the time and room after this grow I would love the mod my cab to fit that.

P.S. Guys you might see a clone of this plant or AK-47 in the future for this grow thread. I have a buddy who took a clone of her, but hasn't run her yet. He doesn't have the room for many flowering plants, but he does have a ton of vegging babies sitting around. I think I might take one of those under my wing for a quick flowering cycle instead of going from seed right now. It just depends on how of a good growing period I have.

I used my HPS with extra 40 watts of CFL lights for veg and first 10 days of flower... then the summer came and the temp in the box rised... I continued with the HPS only. ! have around 26 degrees Celsius in my box now. Perfect!

Ignore that part. I just recently read the two or three days in the dark was just a myth that some growers go by. Somebody said THC is only produced at night and a 2-3 day dark period before chopping would allow the plant to surge in THC production. It turns out to be a fairly untrue statement from other things I have read. So I will no longer be doing that.

Great looking grow budless....I'll deffinately be ordering myself some of Nirvanas AK 48....I'm really astonished at how well she's grown in you micro-CFL setup and can't wait to see what the AK 48 will do in my 400w C-13.

Can't wait to see your final harvest and weight....keep up the good work!

Also would be really cool if you did a smoke report for us aswell.


When you get a new cab I would suggest a pre-fabricated closet like a C-13/Ikea/Lowes models and try and spring for a 250w HPS w/ cooltube and atleast a 4" inline centrifugal (vortex,can-fan,Eco Plus etc etc.)...total setup would cost you about $300-$400 US$ But if you were to do a true SCROG I see an easy 1/4lb possibly a little more too so there you go,you pay $300-$400 US$ (the price of an ounce of danks) and return can get 3 free ounces.So you see your first initial harvest costs you the cost of materials (lighting,fans,nutes,grow space,electricity and ferts and grow medium/containers) and every harvest after that is only costing you the price of electricity!

Here is a pic from my last grow..it was bagsee chrystal...grown under 400w HPS a/c...2 plants grown bushy style/semi-supercrop and I harvested just over a 1/4 lb...thats about a 0.3grm per watt of light not a bad grow but dissapointed I couldn't keep it at the 0.5grm per watt benchmark....had I done a SCROG I see an easy 1/2 lb out of my C-13.

Looks like you're going to be changing your name soon. Nice plants for your first grow. By the way you'll soon figure out most bad seed grows are better than what was in the bag in the furst place.

Jnugg Thanks for the advice. I actually wanted a C13 or a cab of similar size. I inherited this cab from a buddy who was moving and I made due with what I had. It didn't cost me a dime for the cab itself only for what I put into it. I think it worked pretty well and I might have another grow go through her sooner or later. I really, really would like a C13, but my current living conditions would not make it too easy to have one, so for now I'll stick with what I have. Though those yield numbers your threw up there make my skin crawl. I can't wait until I can get one!

It's day 39 today and she is looking fine. I went out of town for a bit and came back to find my lady heavier and more frosty than before! The main colas are bulking up really, really nicely. I can imagine each of the main colas being 1/4 oz on their own. I trimmed a lot of the lower buds from the plant. They were getting very little light as is, I didn't have any smoke at the time, and I figured it would help the other buds obtain more growth. She's about 9 days from the chop!

Sadly enough I can't find my camera for the life of me. I think I might have left it back at home which is +1 hour away. Oh well, I'll get it sooner or later if I did leave it there. I'll have written updates until then.

When you think your plants are done, let them go another 5 days!!!! Dont chop to early let them grow! And I would up your dose of Big Bloom if those are your only fert nutes!!! You need some Guano if possible?? If not up the Big Bloom !!!!!1
