I saw that there were some questions about the parentage of Bubba Kush at the start of the thread....
I read that ProfessorP from Dynasty seeds has a cutting called Oregon Afghani from the 80's which he uses in some of his strains, and he can't tell any difference to Pre 98 Bubba Kush.
He said they look to be one and the same....
I don't know if that helps at all. I just thought i would share what i read.

Bubba is magical herb, had her for 6 years and not letting her go anytime soon.
Nspecta, Just picked up bomb threat, smoked it once and liked her a lot. How do u grow her to maximize yeild? I can pull 1.5 lbs a light w bubba screened out in a 30g u think BT will do good like that?

Katsu is the one with the sweet taste mixed with coffee and the pre 98 is all dark hash coffee ?
From my experience I like em both ..I like the katsu for the smell for the aroma and taste sometimes but the pre 98 has that dark u never smoked anything like this in ur life taste ..

If u grow her right u can get her to yield. I know 2 methods to pull 1.5 lbs a light w bubba. Either do a 4x4 sog w 16 plants in a soil bed or grow her massive in a 30 gallon and scrog her down to a 4x4 canopy. If u try to grow bubba like most any other strains you'll get a shit yeild, take advantage of her natural tendencies. She doesn't like to nranch when topped, and will throw a lot of side branches that don't want go outward, so top her and tie her down lst style and shell fill in. Pruning on this strain is a must!! All of u that grow her know about the lil popcorn nugs she'll throw down low if u don't clean her up.
Bubba isn't a low yielder, she just doesn't like your grow style. Trust me I've grown her for years and through experimentation I went from where your at complaining about the yield to crushing it. Big pots and don't let her get root bound or a 16 plant soil bed per light and you'll be inviting me over for a swim in your Scrooge mcduck money bin of bubba

Pretty spot on description.. I have both cuts, and to be honest, pre98 veg's so damn slow that I think the Katsu is a better performer, yields too..
As was stated, pre98 can yield, just takes the method.. I veg em for 2 months before they go around my light, I have pulled 3.5 zips no probs with one bubba in a 5gallon pot around a 1k with 2 months veg time..

this one grow from clone - has quite a cheesey smell to it alongside the bubba. Very short stocky plant and the buds are incredibly dense, quite inconvenient as they are very hard to pull apart.also looks and smells very much like the Garbyville Purple Kush ive just run for the first time.

danged ole bombtheat sounds the best of the best, I tell you whut! In OR in the clubs, if you ask for bubba, you get laughed at with the ending, thats a Cali strain, yet when you look on the board, there will be names you never heard of, snapberry, honey bear, LMFAO, WTF is wrong with peeps?
I'm pretty convinced the cut I have is legit pre 98. So damn coffee, hashy and yummy. Mine are just a week or so away (all cloudy, no amber yet).
