Also nine pages on boron and no one has bothered to mention that average city tap water contains more of it than any weed plant can use?

Seems a deficiency would be rare. I would suspect that this trace mineral is found in alkaline tap water and nutrient/catalyst formulas containing kelp.

Oddly enough, I thought the same thing but when I looked at my water analysis from the district there was no mention of boron. I don't know if they are just not required to test for and list it or whether there was no boron present at all. There were other metals like arsenic and lead and even if there was 0 ppm detected they still listed the 0 ppm for those metals.

FYI for those who were ragging on GH. Flora Nova comes with sodium borate. Boron only seems to help if they plant suffers from a deficiency of it. Adding more isn't going to do anything beneficial.

Hurricane... It seems like that reptile you have in that image is some kind of chameleon. The huge "telescopic" sort of eye is making that suggestion to me. I can't really see the rest of it, so I couldn't tell you for sure.

Not surprised at all that borax would make a plant stressed enough to hermie as I seriously doubt that trying to derive elemental boron from borax is something a plant is even capable of. Borax itself is just a term to describe many different complex boron compounds, of which none of the uses for any borax compound is plant food. In fact borax treatment is commonly known to kill off/control creeping charlie [ a noxious yard weed. ]

... The term borax is often used for a number of closely related minerals or chemical compounds that differ in their crystal water content:

Anhydrous borax (Na2B4O7)
Borax pentahydrate (Na2B4O7·5H2O)
Borax decahydrate (Na2B4O7·10H2O)
Borax is generally described as Na2B4O7·10H2O. However, it is better formulated as Na2[B4O5(OH)4]·8H2O, since borax contains the [B4O5(OH)4]2- ion. In this structure, there are two four-coordinate boron atoms (two BO4 tetrahedra) and two three-coordinate boron atoms (two BO3 triangles).

Imo theres plenty of sources for elemental boron in ferts and plenty of it coming right out of your cities tap water. As long as you arent using distilled or RO water then you have no boron deficiency issues to worry about. I would also research any method you've never heard of like using borax or car battery acid and consider them highly suspect until proven by a decent group of qualified growers.

Kokua, consider yourself lucky you only wanked a couple of plants on this kind of 'sage' advice. I feel sorry for those not as experimental as you that take this advice and go ruin an entire crop.

Boron did not cause the male flowers. Coincidence.

is it? How do you know? Have you performed plant specific testing on cannabis to prove what you say?

It could very well be a coincidence...but I wont take that chance again, especially after the lack of results from the first batch...

you have got to be kidding me

you have got to be kidding me

coincidence hmmmmmmm i dont think so !!!!! I dont believe in coincidence !

I have seen this plant grown in 4 different gardens that were all set up completly differently and none of them hermied And yes they all came from the same mom !!

Lets face the facts sproutco you are reading text books and throwing out your ideas on what you read and have no proof of whats going to happen.
what next drain cleaner to prevent root rot come on we are all here to help people get the most out of the growing experience . we are not here to test your conclusions that you have come up with by reading a book !!

We are still waiting for you to prove all your bold statements you have allready made !!!!!! Until then I and others will still think you are Full Of SHIT!!!!

This from someone unfamiliar with the strain being tested? I am grasping here but I'd bet dollars to donuts your not raising nor have you raised the test subjects.
The fact that ONLY the boron enhanced plants exhibit this trait and NONE of the others is a coincidence?
Because????

you say so??

I don't think so. I think your talking just to hear words
again

Stress attributed? maybe
Chemical imbalance? maybe
mere coincidence? unlikely.

Yeah, about as much coincidence as you removing the boron link to this post in your sig. The only thing this makes abundantly clear is sproutco has never grown a marijuana plant in his life.

And theres a big difference between adding boron to your plants and adding Borax.
