Suppose you have to keep your lady happy if you want her to continue her womanly duties . On the flip side of that coin, if you were to increase your yield another 50% with better genetics, she might find herself on vacation more often..... Trade offs my man, all about the trade offs :blowbubbles:. Instant gratification is the american way though so.......

Really money is not the issue. I have to get my grow in better shape. It looks good online but I still have problems. Heat being the biggest issue. I run very hot by most peoples standards. Second is the time to change things around. It is a work in progress though and I continue to improve. Most people don't realize that my first harvest was the day after thanks giving last year. So i am still quite new here.

Enviroment is just as, if not more important, than proper genetics for the setup you or any grower chooses to run. All steps on the road to nirvana bro. I've been at this shit non stop for 10 years and i'm still learning more and more everyday. Been following your grows from the begining, and I can honestly say you are way ahead of most growers abilities at a year into their career. Keep at it and rewards will find you :dance013:. I'm always happy to lend my thoughts and advice if you need em.

Thanks I appreciate that. Like I have said over and over it is because people like you and bobble and others who post here. I am ahead of most because I am not afraid to fail, and more importantly try new things I have learned here. :thank you:

Yeh but the flip side is that I have to shovel the drive. So I traded some bud for a tractor with a 5 foot 2 stage snow thrower with a heated cab.

Holy sh*t, that's a great idea. I'd be happy with just a rider - I can mow the lots with it, and then I can push snow too. Neighbors would love me because I'd do their sidewalks. ("What about their driveways too?" -- Let's not get greedy, jerks.)

:snap out of it: and quit your :flu:. Next time you have an urge to drop 1600 on a vacation, resist and send that money to the bay/boo for some new genetics . Then get your ass on cracking those beans..... Genetics are a huge part of the equation, more than most growers will ever realize. One other thing, true commerical elites are rarely passed around. I have access to just about any clone only I desire, yet here I am building dedicated rooms to grow seeds out in, ever wonder why that might be?

Ichabod has my heaviest yielding plant... he doesn't have to buy shit. Just work on becoming a better grower and get his environment dialed.

Good point . USD does produce, no doubt about that, and it's structure fits well to his style of tree grow also. Not everyone is lucky enough to have friends like you though bob :huggg:.

Yeh thanks for that bobble. I took it and made a million small buds that took for ever to trim.

And silver it comes with a 5 foot mower deck and a back blade. Over a $12,000 tractor.

GMax

I applaud you for doing the math, and you are correct. For me the goal of 10 lbs is kind of like those guys that grow giant pumpkins. Is it more efficent to grow many smaller pumpkins, sure, but anybody can do that.

i just increasing my yields by increasing my bottome line all i am sayin ...i will join in the quest for 10 lbs but my real goal is 30 lbs/yr..slow and steady wins the race

strains are one of the most important when it comes to harvest..anyone who knows anything about Sour Bubble would probably not choose it for PRODUCTION strain...but i have..lower yeilds for more harvests... like you said tradeoffs

didnt you just get a pack of SB with all those seeds you bought ??? any female you get, or male for that matter if you gonna breed, is a keeper gauranteed...i chose mine off yeild alone because they were all more similar than any other strain i have grown, almost like clones and quality is top notch

comparing pumpkins and weed is kinda like a more literal comparison of apples and oranges dontcha think ? and harvesting 30lbs a year is not something anyone can do..even freds talks about harvesting 96z from three 6's and thats bout 35lbs with 9 week strain and zero turnaround and he a made man

Hey Gmax what is the 7 week strain you are using?

Not at all a bad goal to have, and this is how a commerically minded grower should be thinking.

Indeed I did get a pack sour bub . Usually it's not considered a heavy yielder, but have you seen pureknowledge's most recent pull? It can yeild well with the right cut and grower. That isn't really important to me though, I bought sb purely for breeding material. Several other strains were bought for the same reason. I didn't build a "breeding room" just to use for selection ;).

I just meant that any competent grower can pull off a vert sog. However there are only a few that ever achieve legendary yields (ala heath robinson, soquick, bigpoppa etc). Similar in fashion to growers of pumpkins. Most any competent pumpkin farmer can grow 800 lbs of pumpkins, but not very many can grow a single 800 lb pumpkin. I was not saying that growing 30 lbs in a year is a cake walk, it's a very admirable goal. Freds was definitely killing it, but he has also said on many occasions that more is definitely possible. Growing really isn't about the money for me. I do it because I enjoy it, and enriches the lives of those around me. As long as I produce enough to keep me and my family fed, I could care less what I yield. Going for ten pounds just keeps things interesting, I like a challenge. Same could be said for trying to grow 30 in a year.

To be where you are in less than one year is a testament to the adaptive value of OCD.

I think ya got this one handled man. How often are ya gonna feed?

A DTW octagon is gonna be a hell of a setup guaranteed, been waiting for someone to do this for a while now.

HGO

As for how I'm going to judge the watering frequency... I'm collecting the runoff in a 55gal drum. Right now the plants are receiving 1 minute of feed. When I get back, I'll check and see how much runoff I have. I'll keep an eye on the level as the weeks go by, and add another 1 minute watering within the first 6 hours of lights on. I'll keep adding 1 minute feeds evenly spaced over the first 6 hours of lights on to keep a good amount of runoff. If I get too much, I can always recycle the nute solution. By regularly monitoring the runoff, I'll be able to keep track of what the plants are eating, and have a better idea of what the root zone pH is. No feeds the last 6 hours, because I want to try and keep lights off humidity down.

If you would grow bigger buds you could spend less time trimming... things to ponder.

lol... Do you see mold, mites, rat turds, heat stress, or seeds? I grew that, it's my Straw DD. ;)
