The end product looks similar too, but they don't smoke the same, the Psychosis tastes like Exodus Cheese - musky, dry, like sweaty arse/feet, a taste I hate.

Funnily enough, I'm just smoking some of the original mystery smelly one right now - my mate who's always kept the original came round yesterday with a bagfull for me - yum. Definitely not the blues, as it has less of the candy-sweetness and earthy back-end, and more of the acetone/peardrops - it's been a while. It's also less narcotic, but potent, naturally. Definitely not cheese...;)

is there any lineage know of this Uk Blue clone?

Blues is sk#1 I think?

some peeps say its an SK hybrid,,,,

It could just be a straight Skunk#1. There's so much variety in that line.

My Skunk#1 keeper (Sam Skunkman) is as berry/fruity/sweet as it gets, beats any other berry/fruity strain I've come across so far, in 20 years or so.

Aye, the Skunk #1 has a lot of variation. That reminds me of another thing I didn't like about the Cheese - it yields less than most Skunk #1s I've seen or grown myself and has crap bud structure and density too compared to most Skunks, apart from that stink it has not one feature I can think of that makes it in anyway stand out.

That mystery smelly one that Eman talks about is definitely not the same as the Blues or the Berry Cheese, although it has a lot of similarities to the Berry Cheese. I've run it alongside the Exodus Cheese and it yields better and is more potent, a bit more stony than Cheese. However, there were a lot of similarities between them so I could believe the mystery smelly one was also a pheno of Skunk #1 or a hybrid of it.

To be honest, I am positive that Berry Cheese, Smelly Mystery One and Blues all have skunk in their genes, either being pure skunk or a skunk hybrid, they are all too similar and really, it's variations on a theme and they all fit in the same category of 'decent generic skunky type weed' decent in all regards and reliable but not outstanding. Out of em all, the Berry Cheese is perhaps the taste I like most, the Mystery Smelly One is probably the strongest of them all for potency and tastes good. I'd take any of them in preference to Exodus Cheese cos I hate the sweaty arse taste and the boring windowlicker high.

yep,,i defo agree,,,,,,i think all them stinky 1`s all are sk or sk hybrids,,,,,no doubt in my mind!!

from the pics EM`s mistery strain looks directly related to LLP`s psycho,,,,,,il probbly need to pull-up the pics for you:),,,,,its un-canny from the pics,,id need to do a side-by -side to know for sure tho:),,,,,,

that reminds me , ive not heard form LLP in ages,,,,

your defo right about sk havin large vaireation!!,no doubt,!!!,,,,,,,,,its that stink tho,,,everyone loves the stink,,,,,,

the blues sweetness is an added bonus to the stink:)

an cheese is defo missin all the yeald the SKline has-to offer,,,,,,,,bud structure is ok it think,,calax size is good,,it just dont fill out,,,,,but then again ive noticed all the lower yealding phenos seem to have concentrated smells,,,,,,,,,

blues seems chubyer, but ive not been growin the blue long enough to know for sure,,,

happy newyear , everyone:)

The two skunk phenos I've seen that I wished I had in my garden were both from the opposite end of the skunk genepool to the indica leaning cheese/blues type plants.

The first one I would love to have is the 12-week colombian dominant selection Sam himself found, it used to be sold as Alegria in the Dampkring, beautiful smoke, spicy and great long-lasting high, quite untypical for a skunk.

The other one was the big Mexican dominant 12-weeker Elevator Man found, wish that one was still around, I never smoked it but many years ago I had long flowering Mexican dominant skunks in my own garden and loved them, Elevator Man's reminded me of them strongly.

The reason everyone in holland jumped on Skunk was that it was the first exemplar of a modern cultivar bred to be strong in all aspects that they had seen. From then on, whenever they found a strain that had promise they hybridised it to the skunk to make it solid in all regards such as yeild, cloning ease, suitability under lights etc. It led to a degree of homogenity which was a bad thing.

Some interesting pictures of Dutch skunks:

Old Ed examining the very first skunk grown in Holland from Sam's seeds, 1984:

Kees Hoekert who founded the first Dutch seedbank - Lowland Seeds with Wernard Bruining. Old Ed was their grow guru and taught them how to grow sinsemilla.

The very first grow Kees did after Old Ed arrived, using Ed's seeds was in this ramshackle homemade greenhouse at the back of Kee's House, I think this is 1977:

Old Ed holding a Lowlands Seeds poster next to a crappy looking plant, this will be sometime between 77 and 80, I guess that plant was typical of what they had before Skunk came along:

Of course, back then they were growing outdoors:

Those were the very early days, before Neville, Sam, Ben Dronkers et al. I don't think the genes from those early days survive as the things that came along later made them redundant, although Viking is still around from those early Findhorn outdoor plots.

Lowlands turned into Positronics in the early 80s, then Sam and Ed Rosenthal arrived with Skunk and the seed industry was born:

i wonder why hybrids were SO suitable for indoors....hmmmm,,,,

Mainly because the added Skunk #1 (male) genetics bought the flowering time and height of LowLands sativa lines down to a manageable standard. Once hybridized ALL the sativa lines were more accessible to homegrowers and produced solid buds!

Wernard/Eddy/Old Ed crossed that same Skunk#1 male to all the other varieties in the Green Teams collection. This made Haze #19 x Skunk,, Swazi x Skunk,, Hawaiian x Skunk,, Armageddon47 (x4 Indian x Skunk),, Chitral x Skunk ,, and many many other new Skunk #1 hybrids.

Later marketing was the game and these names were changed from 'Chitral x Skunk' to 'Citral',, from Afghan x Skunk to 'Holland's Hope' and so on....

Peace out

so ive just been told that the UK cheese cut i got (originally came from LLP) may well be the blues/livers. i dont really mind which one it is because i like it :D
but what do you reckon?? it smelt like cheese (parmisan/feet) when grown - very strong smell - its cured to a cheesey, fizzy sweet, citrusy aroma. i wouldnt say it smells like blueberry though (i have a good BB) pretty sure it never gets more than 5 fingers on the leaves though.
what is the expert's opinion?

I don't think that's the Exodus Cheese, looks too chunky and compact. Very nice buds though. Sweaty feet/Parmesan sounds like the Exodus but sweet fizzy and citrus doesn't.

Somehow it's gone from a cheese cut to a cheese family, you do have a plant from the cheese family, but which cousin is it? lol

you cant have spoken to LLP about this,,,,have you V?

thats not the blue,,,,,the blue puts out over 5 fingers easy,,,,the one in your pick seems to only have 5 fingers,,,that makes me think its a cheese type!

im pretty sure the clone you have aint the same as my clone,,,,but maybe your enviroment is makin the cheese bud-up better than usual,,,,,,i gota admit the calax dont look like my clone ither,,it seems to be missing all the purple too

here is my cheese
