I like how all the old seed cataloges & strains all have realistic yield per days grown Like NL5 x SK#1 is 125g's that's a 15 g's light of 5 z's dry so thats good but nowerdays companys say this/that 600g + per sq meter and mostly there crap. CRITICAL MASS is good you can find gold in a pack of seeds however... The old lines are what I want imagin this NL5 x SK#1 Hybrid vigour mutant ninja turtle weed man!! NL iBl 5 times crossed to the sk male at sensi or where ever this was the start of the new era when iBl's went crap because of poor selection & skunk genes and to many generations passed and lost all the hope for some amazing stuff, NOW its all FEMINIZED or SHANTIBABA .. Rez and his stuff is all fem bollocks at 1 time so I do not care about it really

I want 20 different packs of sensi seeds strains from myself to myself for christmas this year all old lines....... what catalogue is the NL5 x SK#1 indifferent.

good one man, i ordered my first seeds from the seed bank back in 1998? sk#/nl#5 killer weed and very easy to grow, back in the early 90's we had an ice storm. lost power for 2 weeks, but my sk#1/nl#5 pulled thru with no light and 30 degree weather. killer strain. i got 3lbs off 1 plant outdoors back in the early 90's. peace

Hey everyone hope you all are having a Merry Christmas. After reading this thread and few others i'm really interested in this strain ya'll call Blues. I love the cheese even though I don't have the clone yet I did enjoy growing the BB version. The vigor of the plants was great. The smell was also a plus as I love strains that have strong smells. Some of my cheese expressed phenos that were very musky with blueberry undertones. After reading up on the blues some say its like cheese has been completed with a fuller flavor but not as much in the raw power of the smell department. I have a few questions about the blues.

Do you all agree the blues, cheese, phycosis are related and orignating from the Skunk #1 line? Are the blues also know as the livers? Are there any companies working on feminizing the blues? How similar do you think that BB's blue cheese and UGORG's killer skunk are since they are line bred on that skunk line?

Don't know if any of you have checked out my thread in Big Buddha'a forum titled 1st Cheese grow and a few ?s but if any of you could check it out and let me know what you think that would be nice. I know its not complete yet but I will finish it once I pay a political debt.

Hey englishrick are still gonna do the cheese S1s and send em into SBay? I see you are doing bluesxcheese, which one did you use as the male in the cross? Also I would like to talk to you about cheese and other such strains sometime, i'll shoot you a pm sometime if thats ok? I just really like the UK Blues, Cheese, and Phycosis from the stories I hear about them and just the look of em. I just can't stop looking at pics of those foxtailing bubble like stacked calyxes. Hey Elevator Man your mystery strain looks nice too. Ya'll take care and keep it green. ONE

The livers is just another name for the blues, and resulted as far as I can tell from one misguided individual believing that attaching personal info to a 'strain' would make it travel further - right in one sense, I guess, but not that sensible, IMO. No more on that topic...;)

Both the blues and mystery strain (which is only my name for it, BTW) have been around the same length of time, and are often confused with each other, as physically they're indentical - only the smell differs, and not by much unless you're familar with them both. But both have the long, Thai-like budleaves on long petioles, which is unusual for a purer NL pheno, but the NL5 did have Thai in it, and obviously Skunks could spit out any number of sativa leaf-shapes on indica buds, so it's still no clearer really.

Just go to seedsman and get 3 packs of Skunk #1, it's proper, pure, original skunk from Sam himself, seedsman bought the seed stock from him. Grow those out and keep the best phenos, that will give you a much better chance of finding really good keeper plants than any of the bigbuddha (or anyone else's) derivatives.

If you want a more stinky, indica-leaning skunk, go for Mr Nice's Shit, which is just skunk selected for indica traits.

imo,,,,,all the old stinky clones us young uk smokers love are simply old skunky phenos,,,,,some breeding practices have helped soften the stink,,,,i want evey plant to stink like cheese,,,,,,,,[btw the stink from cheese is an Afghan trait]

indifferent is right tho,,,ive been wanting to grow-out Seedsmans SK1 too....if you search through enough of them seeds you will find something NOT dis-similar to the cheese,,,,

with my seeds im gona try and bump-up the amount of "stinky phenos",,,,,,,im not sayin mine will be better than any1`s,,,,,my main objective is to create a seedline with garenteed cheeseyness,,,,,,,

imo,,,,,, my Blues x Cheese will give a high % of cheesey phenos but seedsmans Sk1 is the daddy,,,

Funny, I put stink well done the list of priorities. In fact, I go for the plants that don't stink too much.

Shanti's Shit really is the place to go for stinky skunky plants, much more so that skunk #1, but I think skunk #1 is much more interesting in terms of character of high, shit is just a mongy indica type skunk, but people seem to like that kind of dull effect like cheese has.

Cheese and The Smelly One/Mystery Strain have always reminded me strongly, in taste, smell and effect, of the old Neville strain Garlic Bud. You can still buy two strains from Sensi that are based on Garlic Bud - Shiva Shanti and Shiva Shanti II, they are very cheap and are indica leaning skunk lines that friggin stink, dunno if they are still as good as they were ten years ago, but those two lines would also be worth investigating.

Seedsman's Skunk #1 will give plants that look just like the Cheese, but whether you wll find one that stinks like that is unknown. The stinky trait isa recessive onethat popped out and it is unknown whether it is a 1 in 100, 1 in 1000, 1 in fuckin shitloads or quite common.

Here's the description of The Seedbank's Garlic Bud:

This heavy yielding variety is named for its penetrating Indica fragrance, not exactly lice Garlic, but almost as strong. You wont have garlic breath after smoking this one, so dont worry, but you will get stoned. We gave this one a B+ for taste and potency, an excellent score for such a heavy yielder. Superior Indoor performance, top commercial possibilities.

Height at 100 days: 40-60 inches.
Flowering at 12 hours of darkness: 50-55 days.
Yield at 100 days: up to 125 grams.

Ah, Shiva Shanti II is the less stinky off-shoot, sorry to say, the original Shiva Shanti was super strong in smell and potency, the II version is easier to grow, yields more, but the smell and potency are toned down, it was supposed to be the easiest possible strain to grow. I don't have the catalogue anymore, but it used to be the one Sensi recommended for beginners. They have changed the description now, but it used to specifically say that the II version was much less smelly than the original and was thus suitable for the paranoid grower.

Shiva Shanti II description:

The Shiva Shanti ® is a 3 way hybrid which consists mostly a Afghani strain that we call Garlic Bud because of its characteristic aroma .
The Shiva Shanti II® contains a smaller proportion of this Garlic Bud and is added with Skunk and another Afghani. It is a less stable 4-way hybrid but quality-wise very nice.

Flowering: 45-55 days.
Height: 120-150 cm.
Yield: up to 100 gr.
Flowering in greenhouse: mid-October.
Yield in greenhouse: up to 500 gr.

Shiva Shanti description:

This Afghani with its penetrating Indica aroma is one of the better yielders in the collection. It has a very pleasant and smooth taste.
A beautiful plant named after the equally beautiful twin daughters of the founder of the Sensi Seed Bank, Ben Dronkers.

Flowering: 50-55 days.
Height: 100-130 cm.
Yield: up to 125 gr.

By 'penetrating indica aroma' they mean 'it absolutely stinks and it's an unpleasant smell' I remember the smell well, they told me it smelled like garlic, which is why I bought em, they didn't warn me how huge the smell they give off was and that it would make your house smell like ti was made out of raw shit and rotting corpses, fuckin horrid stuff in my book, but if you like that type of stink, it's Shiva Shanti you want, I hated the stuff.

Sensi's current website blurb for the II avoids saying 'it's not as potent or tasty or smelly, but it's a piece of piss to grow' but that's the impression it gives me:

Shiva Shanti II and her more powerful Indica sister Shiva Shanti were two varieties released at the start of the Nineties to celebrate the expansion of breeding stock that brought Sensi Seed Bank’s gene-library to its current level. The aim of Shiva Shanti II was to make a strain that absolutely anyone could afford, while being versatile enough to grow indoors with lights, in the greenhouse, or outside in the sun at most locations below 45°N. The new strain also needed to be fast, tough and forgiving - able to reward the most inexperienced grower.

Furthermore, Shiva Shanti II also had to be pleasantly potent, but an order of magnitude less powerful than her big sister, enabling casual cannabis cultivators to enjoy the sublime experience of smoking their own hand-raised, home-grown ganja without being blown away. Naturally, even Sensi’s comparatively mild strains, when lovingly-cultivated, can be much more potent than ‘normal’ commercial cannabis, so Shiva Shanti II should never be thought of as weak.

The original Shiva Shanti is a three-way hybrid made largely from Garlic bud and another ‘heritage’ Kush strain, reinforced and invigorated by Skunk genes. For easy growing, Shiva Shanti II has a third Afghani added to the mix. This smooth and sturdy cultivar from the country’s southern plains also adds to phenotype variation in the f1 generation.

Shiva Shanti II is one of Sensi’s best sellers, partly because she’s the lowest-priced variety in our collection (making her one of the most affordable strains from any breeder), and partly because her low price has no bearing on her fine quality. Growers who’ve seen her in action know that Shiva Shanti II can produce amazingly nice results when given a chance to flourish.

Is it my eyes or do them seeds look rather pale?
