...Great Lakes, I'd hardly refer to the peeps here as "our sorry asses" LOL, I couldn't think of a better audience than my friends

By that I intended to refer not to the quality of IC members, but rather those of us that weren't able to join in this year. Maybe lot would have been a better choice of words. I'm really quite fond of a great many members here.

I'm finding that I'm also fond of the views from the city I've been seeing. Lovely old architecture blended with new. The canal's are an added bonus for me. I love when waterways are incorporated into a cities design.

Apologies if anyone was offended by that remark.

Hi DG,

Its been so very long since I've heard of 'things' called Moo-cows!?!

Thank you for the pleasant read. It seems strange to me that any government anywhere would want to ban folks from getting together and having a good honest time smoking reefer. No police problems, no drunk and disorderly fights, no rip offs etc., no problems at all! Just a group of kind folks enjoying each others company. The way it should be everywhere especially more often.

Take care and stay safe,
HB.

DG? You're on the wrong thread hambone....this one's mine

Great Lakes, I have no doubt that you weren't referring to the quality of our members, we both know there are some of the finest people around on these boards  I just got a chuckle out of your choice of words :biglaugh:

I hope everyone who came this year can return again next year. Hearing Blue saying how she wouldn't be a judge but would attend makes me very happy.

We will all look forward to seeing you again sweet lady.

On my way home I reflected upon my experiences and I must say that my 6 nights this year in Amsterdam were the most fun ever! :D

Meeting so many fine people of one mind is certainly a lifetime experience for those who have never done this. My costs were very low this year actually and the trip was priceless given the people that attended. We are a wonderful group you know.

Have you ever been with a tour group anything like this? We had it all my friends and it was so well organized and planned for us that we had little to do or worry about. Count on me to be there next year if the cosmic spirit allows and I pray that it is so.

Nam Myoho Renge Kyo means that we will all see each other again among many other things... BOG

GL, honored to have you stop by

Picasso my friend! Hello! :D Glad you like the thread

BOG, I don't want to judge for two reasons, first reason is that I can concentrate more on being with my friends and possibly seeing something of Amsterdam before leaving :biglaugh:. Second reason being that I plan on entering, and will be seriously attempting to be the first female grower to win in this Cup, and possibly any kind of major Cannabis related competition held to date :D
Won't the boys love that? :biglaugh: I'm dead serious though....this is my project for 2006

Next year will be wonderful...maybe even better because we may see many of the friends who made it this year, plus those who couldn't. It was so much fun BOGgy, I met so many splendid people. The forums are great, but nothing beats being able to hug your friends tight and look them in the eye when you talk to them.

You are my true friend and I love you to pieces BOGgy. I couldn't have had better company, really, I am overhwelmed by all of the attention I got from everybody, and honored to have spent so much time in your company.

Farmer John...get those pennies clinking into that piggy bank, your butt WILL be there next year.....even if I have to come over there and pick you up myself :D

Yes, I know you are serious and that judging isn't for competitors of course. So glad to hear you are entering and I wonder what you will use as your viper in the contest.

Knowing the power of a Pisces woman makes me glad you won't be in the breeders division because you are a winner whatever you choose to do. Let the fun of being a judge be a memory to be cherished and I promise next year that we will include more culture in the time allotted. Perhaps DG and Gypsy will even plan a trip like the one we had to Haarlem with a fine museum as a destination.

Long ago I saw a need for a 420 party each year in Amsterdam and Gypsy and I discussed it and he actually did it. This was really the third one as the first was pretty unofficial and had no contest. JLP actually won with his Blue satellite hash as I recall. When I see the future I see it big but in reality these things take time and they grow year by year just like a magazine or online site.

You have helped us with your wit and leadership and these qualities are a rare find at any online site. You should write an article for International Cannagraphic as your writing is very professional. What would you like to submit for Gypsy and DG to peruse? I know they value yo as much as I do and you are quite correct about journalism.

My book is more like a cookbook but its simple so that what I know can be shared. Soma wrote a book at the same time as myself it seems. Long ago when we first met he said, "You look very familiar". I told him that we had probably not met in this life but perhaps in a past life and that we were kindred spirits doing the same things in different places. It's eerie how closely our methods match and how we always agree but the man is my Guru and I would not wish to disagree with him as his word on cannabis is gospel to me. You heard him speak and you relate things so well that I wish you could try and help me remember all he said.

Everyword he says should be recorded IMHO. BOG

You must write.

Having been lurking around here an OG for the past 3 years I have truely value not only the knowledge that this community has provided but the bond we all share.

We are all Kindred spirits. And Soma is our Guru, but BOG is our Guru of the USA branch.

I felt as though I was there at the first (unoffical IC Cup) as you all crusied the canals and rode the bikes. Taking wake n bake at the Store, the Sushi, the candies and all that awesome looking hash.

I long for the day that we can have one stateside so that we can repay our friends over the pond.

I am starting to save now too for next year.

Thanks again to all of you.

Somebody had to say it. Even my wife commented on it. :jawdrop: This is a superb documentary Blue. Have you ever considered entering a journalistic field? You have a comanding, entertaining, and witty writing style. I especially like the photo's. They make me feel as if I was there.

this suprises me " i'm a little too old now to be beginning...."

Hogwash, a little too old :biglaugh: BoG sure appeared older than you and he's just come out with a book as has Soma.

jounalism reguires truth not serious studies of journalism. Just do it!

Methinks perhaps an article,(perhaps a 420 travelougue) for the next IC Mag is in order?

Geesh,if I wasn't so ass-backwards jet-lagged I'd comment more....

Btw,Blue gives great gifts....

Thanks everyone for stopping by.

BOG, you are making me blush  My weapon of choice for next year's Cup? Its very special, a vintage (year 2000) Bros. Grimm C99 crossed to an exceptional DJ Short Blueberry, known as BlueBlood and created by a national breeder who goes by the handle of GIYO and who used to be found on OG...been a long time since he posted there.

pan, welcome to IC Mag! The Cup was a blast and is not to be missed. Your pennies will be very well spent

nwODB, same to you, welcome! Glad you're enjoying the thread

Rez, welcome home! As you can see from how long its taking me to complete this thread, the time for writing is not vey much but thanks for your confidence in my skills. Glad you liked the gift. ..I love those rivets on the handle of the sword, nice detail. I'm going to have to really work my imagination to come up with something even better next time round

zep - hiya!

Big Toke, very glad you enjoy my threads, you know how much I value your own, and the attention to detail you put into them. Got to keep the standards up there

Wednesday - 4/20 - Awards Day!

I woke up this morning with sunshine pouring through the window! What a beautiful day. I went downstairs to have breakfast and then hightailed it to Wake 'n Bake at Seed Boutique. I had an appointment with BOG to go shopping, plus I still had my judging to finish. The judges were supposed to meet at Fat City around 12 and submit their completed scorecards at 4pm. I was very committed to getting it all done, but couldn't bear the thought of leaving Amsterdam without some shopping :D. While I was waiting for BOG I scored the glass entries which were on display in Seed Boutique, sat myself down for a mini-judging session and a nice talk with Smokey's wife and daughter. I was told that after BOG accompanied me to my hotel the evening before, he went back to the 420 Café and was out and about 'til 5:00 am  Which was going to make it kinda rough on BOGgy to make our appointment at 10. Around 11, I just decided to go shopping without BOG, and Smokey's wife and daughter came along with me. We had very little time by then, but we made the most of it, strutting up and down the Dam, laughing and darting in and out of boutiques. We really had a ball!

1562A_Dam4.jpg

I was still thinking about the stuff I had to judge, and though I would've loved to spend the entire day just walking around in the sunshine and seeing the sights, I thought it best to get on to Fat City and do my duty  Stayed there an hour or so, then stocked up on some munchies and went back to the hotel to rest up some, and put another dent in my big baggie of weed entries.

Around 2:30, back to Fat City. It was closed so they could prepare for the evening festivities, but I spotted Minister and some people sitting at a table outside and joined them. Reeferman was hanging around, and the peeps form the BC Bud Depot who had just opened a shop in A'Dam that day. Jimmy, Rez, Smokey and friends rolled up, the Fat City doors opened, and onwards and upwards to complete my judging.

And complete it I did. I still can't believe it, but I was able to do it all. When I got back from Amsterdam for three days my short term memory was shot to hell :D.

People were arriving in droves, and the party atmosphere was everywhere. The crème de la créme of the cannabis community was there, it was like the who's who of contemporary marijuana history....felt soooooo good to be a part of it all.
Uncle Stoner was there of course , and I just had to get a shot of his fancy footwear for the event....can't beat 'em:
