Excellent thread about an excellent trip to meet excellent people and smoke excellent cannabis and buy excellent glass pieces. Just admiring your writing after all that. My head would still be pudding had I taken on that adventure. Thanks for sharing.

Just been reading through it all Blue, such a detailed well constucted tale has me kinda feeling a little sorry for myself being back to reality, seriously debating if i can spend the rest of my days in the UK and already planning another trip back. Keep it coming Blue but dont get too sentimental you'll have me welling up.
Peace

God, What a Hottie!!

Somebody had to say it. Even my wife commented on it. :jawdrop: This is a superb documentary Blue. Have you ever considered entering a journalistic field? You have a comanding, entertaining, and witty writing style. I especially like the photo's. They make me feel as if I was there.

Morning guys!

protege, thanks...I like to write

bliss - I know what ya mean....but I'm realizing what a whack that experience gave me, I'm still walking around half-comatose

wally what a pleasure to have you grace my thread. I'm planning on going next year too, and it'll be a pleasure to meet you. In the meantime I can watch you on DVD

rule....I was thorughly wasted, you can be sure of that. I haven't been that wasted for that long since I was in college

Great Lakes thanks for the appreciation of my person :D. Special thanks to your wife, women are the most critical of other women....you men folks get all caught up in the hormone thing  I would have liked to write for a living, I'm a little old now to be beginning serious studies of journalism, but I've been playing around with the idea of writing a book for the past few years  I don't quite know where to start though. I'm glad ou enjoy the thread...I wanted to give people a feel of what my three days at the Cup actually entailed, people, impressions, places and thoughts.

Gotta be honest, i am kinda fuming with myself at how little i managed to mingle with all my IC buddies, had I not been so busy judgeing i am sure I would have managed to sit more of ya down for a nice intimate 121, next year for sure (if not before).
Peace

Hey there, BV! Please forgive my neanderthal "leanings" with the comment on your person. It's just that I didn't realize how lovely you really are. Now, I will state for the record that I have a lovely g/f of six years and am quite content. But hey, although I'm committed . . . I'm not DEAD!! :biglaugh:

But I do want to say for the record that it is very much the person, not the appearance necessarily, that matters most and you, my dear friend, have always been nothing but a true lady in my limited dealings with you at every moment. It's just that you, Blue Velvet, have been blessed with beauty both inside and out and that is, indeed, a rare find these days. And that doesn't even count the fact that you grow better bud than most dudes could ever hope to!! My God, I just realized that you are a stoner's "wet dream come true!!" :biglaugh: :biglaugh:

Just kidding, BV, you know I respect you to death and this journal of your trip to the Cup is both visually descriptive and imagery-filled! You do have the writer's touch for sure. It makes my resolve to get to next year's Cup even stronger. Thank you for sharing these great times with us all! Your are "One In A Million", lady!! :friends:

this suprises me " i'm a little too old now to be beginning...."

Hogwash, a little too old :biglaugh: BoG sure appeared older than you and he's just come out with a book as has Soma.

jounalism reguires truth not serious studies of journalism. Just do it!

Life Is Rough

Life Is Rough

Boy do you have it rough these days Blue; You got buds too big for their stems, so ya got to tie them up....Forced to smoke 30 of top competition buds and hash in 28 hrs....Sampling even more buds from all over the place and community.....showered with seeds...and hanging out in Amsterdam with people you wanted to finally meet, making new friends along the way. Yep, it's a hard field to sow. Envy? Downright jeolousy here, for all whom were there. :moon: "I'm sorry to have to say this, but you have been upgraded to Expert Judge." "Dammit, I had all this shopping to do! All right I'll do it, give me the damn buds and hash," she says. :biglaugh:

Rellik, I'm sure you know that ladies enjoy compliments  Thank you very much.

TF, when I state I'd like to write a book, with "book" I mean literature, with all due respect to BOG and Soma who produced exceptional grow books that are a joy to read. Journalism is a parallel field, but what interests me in particular is creative writing, imagination.

p2p, like I said...its a tough job!

Continued - Tuesday 19/04/05

I have to open this one mentioning two people who i previously hadn't mentioned. I met Dr. D on Tuesday morning, in that den of animated stoners called Seed Boutique. It was packed, I was stoned, and we didn't much talk. But Dr. D deserves MAJOR props. We did some heavy duty walking that day, Willie Wortel's Sensimilla is halfway across Haarlem from the first shop, and all of us had a long haul under pouring rain to get there. What those who weren't there don't know is that Dr. D was on crutches, and if anybody's ever been on crutches you know what a pain it is to take just a leisurely walk, let alone do a high-speed rush through pouring rain over a fairly long distance. Dr. D was there with all of us, never lagged back once nor did he say even one word of complaint. We didn't talk much Dr. D but I'm going to make a point of it to get to know you a bit better next year.

Second person I didn't mention is Hawaiian Grown, who is probably still in A'Dam. He travelled halfway around the world to be there, brought me some very tasty hawaiian munchies as well as some samples of his breeding work (seeds), as he knows I'm very interested in Hawaiian genetics. Thanks HG

After the shower it was time to meet everybody back at Fat City. I headed on down there, the sun was starting to shine and my head was a bit clearer. I still hadn't seen Fat City yet, so it was about time . As soon as I got there I was greeted by BOG, who took me over to meet Bruce the Bastard brewer. Bruce had a lovely display of his wares, bottles lined up and tiny crystal goblets which he proceeded to fill to give me a taste of each of his fine canna-wines. I didn't get a pic unfortunately, but Bruce does wonders with wines and cannabis extracts and I personally found his stuff to be the most original and interesting there. Showed on the scorecard, as his wines were entered in the "Best Products" category...and won :D.

I got down to some more judging in a corner, between a chat with Smokey's wife and daughter and a puff on the side of Rez's ECSD....spent alot of time sitting next to Rez, Smokey and Jimmy :D. After some fun in Fat City we packed up to go have some dinner, this time Gypsy and Dutch took a few of us out to an excellent Indian restaurant. There were all of 14 of us, and we didn't have reservations, but we had no problems. BOG and I sat at the end of the table and finally got to have a nice relaxed conversation. When dinner was over it was already kind of late, my brain was turning to mush, and I decided to go back to the hotel. The rest of the crowd went on to the 420 Cafè, but I was thinking about the 10 or so strains I still had left to judge by 4pm the next day. Time to sleep otherwise I would never make it.
I was so destroyed I didn't even have a good night smoke before turning in
Nighty night folks....tomorrow's the big day! Awards ceremony!

To be continued....
