I know that sweetie, and you did fine in catching up on your sleep, 420 was a big day for all of us and what would we have done if our BOGgy was feeling below par? I had a fine time with the ladies anyway, and next year we'll plan it better...go out shopping and pick something real nice up for Mrs. BOG

Blue i love this thread

With every word that you write i feal that i am reliving my expernces in Amsterdam! :friends: I wish i had more time to spend with you while i was there but unfortunatly i had the same problem to many judges saples to go threw. Next year will be much better i also plan on entering that way i don't get comendiered into a judges package, althought it was an experience it was hard to do anything but smoke after recieving the judges package. :joint: I enjoyed our cojnversation one our walk in the rain in Haarlem and during our wait at the train station. Next year i will even allow pictures to be taken by close friends! :friends:  I have begun my new Count down until we meet again!

Thank you blue for the incredible detail you put into your writing. I enjoyed so much sitting back and feeling like I was in Amsterdam. I have yet to make my way to that area, so the best thing I have now is reading about it. You seem to of had a great time with no problems with great friends, what more can someone ask for? Again thanks for taking the time to write everything you have. :joint:

Hey Blue Velvet....it was a pleasure meeting you (she's such a pleasant lady).....and you write so well....can you get together with Crazy Composer to write and format a story for the magazine?

....I am sure many others would enjoy your account of the 4/20 Growers Cup in print...

Gypsy, to say that the pleasure was all mine is an understatement! You and Dutch sure do know how to put on a party, and the both of you are just as wonderful off of the boards as on. Thank you for a wonderful time.

I'm immensely flattered that you feel my writing skills are worthy of IC Magazine...how can I refuse? Will get together with CC to work it out. Thanks again Gypsy!

To all of my friends who stop by here and leave such great comments, what can I say? Thanks! I'm glad you enjoy my style of writing...if Mrs. Broadbent, my 6th grade English teacher ever imagined she was so lovingly slamming the English language into my neurons and down my throat so that one day I could have the opportunity to write an educated article for an international cannabis magazine, she'd have the heebie-jeebies...thanks from the bottom of my heart to Mrs. Broadbent :D :bashhead: hhehehehehehehehehe

baccas, you were wonderful to meet, and the next time you'll need to be around when I break out the bottle of vintage Italian red

TF, you opened an interesting can of worms with the journalism thing...but I'm happy  I don't have a whole lot of time, but I'll make it to write something hopefully exciting and fun for my friends who couldn't be there, and hopefully capture a few memories for those who did  I really am a bit embarassed with all the hubbub over the thread

Wednesday 420 - Awards Day continued

People were filling up the place and those who had stuff to judge in the Products category were setting up the displays. My first stop at a display, and the one I enjoyed the most was Bruce the Bastard Brewer's display. A large round wooden table with a very attractive display of Bruce's wares was set up. Bruce adds pizzazz to fine wines by enhancing them with cannabis extracts, and let me tell you his wines are sooo good. I'm a very fussy person when it comes to wine. I'll pop €30.00 a bottle without blinking an eye if the wine is excellent, and will not drink anything less than GOOD wine, if its excellent even better. Bruce passed what he had no idea to be such an arduous test, and with flying colors I might add, as I voted him winner in that category

I don't have pics of him or his wines myself, but borrowed one of Oldpink's pics to give y'all an idea:

I was smokin' and time was flying, at 8pm the judges were all supposed to have turned in their scorecards, and at 7:30 pm with a sigh of relief for having accomplished what I set out to do, I gave Dutch my scorecard to be tallied. Then I proceeded to give away most of what was left over from the samples in my judges pack to Smokey, who was staying an extra week in the Dam with his family, and who would have the opportunity to put it to good use

In the meantime Soma spoke, and a hush fell over the room, except for a few unruly stoners who were promptly told to respect the Master and shut the f***k up by Fredster :biglaugh: Soma started out by saying how he had informed the cannabis community in various forums that he was undergoing surgery on March 1st (my birthday), and how incredibly surprised and moved he was by the huge number of messages of prayers and good wishes from people he didn't even know....it seems he has no idea of just to what extent he is revered and respected by new and veteran growers and breeders alike. Most of Soma's talk was about his ordeal, and how thankful he was to be with us still, and how he continues to and always will make use of the medicine of his choice. Again, no pics of Soma from me, I wouldn't have dared ask so much from him.

Finally Gypsy presented Arjan of Greenhouse Seeds/Coffeshop who was there to actually give the awards to the winners. And the music...to hear many of my friends names called one by one, first HOG, then Smokey, then Jimmy for 3rd, 2nd and 1st place in the Growers Cup - Sativa category, then Rez pulling 3rd in the Breeders Cup - Sativa category...and DNA Genetics placing 2nd(special mention will be made of these guys a bit further down the thread ), the only one missing which would have made my evening complete was BOG, but by now everyone knows how special BOG's Sour Bubble is regardless of a Cup win, which is just a matter of time anyway

It was time to break out my bottle of vintage red Italian wine to celebrate. Fredster volunteered to go downstairs to the bar and have them open the bottle, then we got down to a fine wine and weed session worthy of the Champions seated at my table. Bruce the Bastard Brewer didn't have a glass...no problem...he'd just won a gorgeous chalice custom made for the event by Shiva Glass and I guess that's a glass now, ain't it? :D

Its French GL, but looks like an excellent wine form the little I can see of the label, and nothing nicer than a chalice of exquisite red while you're tokin' in the evening, after a good dinner....ahhhhhhhh

This is fantastic Bluevelvet, I am so happy to read your words and get a feel of what its was all about...
I am also very sorry to have missed this event- but as we all know "Next year"...

What is more dissapointing is that I scheduled my Amsterdam trip months ago, and chose to go 3 weeks after this event. Its my problem that I missed the posts and planings. I only started to surf here recently.

Although Next year, I am planing a trip to Chicago in July. So i dont know if I will also do Amsterdam as well in April...

I wish we could do it ALL!
