^^^^Wow, I didn't know that. Thx for bringing that to my attn. I always thought he was a "pitbull". Yea, I'm sure there are a lot of people confused, including moi. I will research. Thx for the info RL..

OP

No problem. Your dog is very nice looking. Very healthy. Beautiful. Oh yeah one thing I wanted to tell you is look out for hip problems from the Razorsedge line. They get Hip Dysplasia. Just watch as he gets a little older for him having problems standing up from the laying position and also slight limp in the back legs.

May you have many happy, play filled years with your wonderful dog.

these bully type dogs coming out of these kennels are closer to bandogs than even am staffs. am staffs have been strictly controlled breeding compared to the loose tolerances adba and ukc apbt rules are followed.... most bullies ive seen especially the short stalky dogs are bred into staffordshire bull terriers. the massive 100lb+ apbt are bred to mastiffs. these kennels have been caught forging papers already, you do not turn a game bred apbt into these bullies in the process of 2 years unless some magic happens... this magic includes kennels like razors edge and the gotti and other bully kennels forging papers and breeding mutts... no longer breeding for proper temperment but rather short bold legged feet, massive heads and completely uncontrolled temperments. some of the mastiff crosses ive seen are impressive but they are no pit bulls. they are bandogge which are really a whole new movement in the mastiff/pit bull arena... i take my pit bull with me on hunts and know he is a hog hunting mofo! my buddies dogs i fear would get tusks in the guts...

Go to the pound and find you puppy you like...then raise it to behave as you want it to...
I know, here in Denver, you can always find a good dog at the pound...and, in return, it will get a loving home...

Got mine from the pound....
Licked me through the prison bars on my way out, so in a sense, he chose me!

Table Mountain Animal Center is farthest down the line (kill shelter), so that is where I saw more of the badass dogs.
I-70&Youngfield, west side. Always has pits and shepherds.

any kinda mastiff...french has the strongest jaws,,and the Neo's are monsters,,....big, powerfull, look mean, fast (dont let that size fool ya), and would scare most things off with its sheer size&looks....will protect family & home to the death & verry loyal.......

boxer...thay dont stop running jumping around the place...a big ass male could kick a few asses, but would most likely tire the other dog/person out fisrt with there hyperactive look on life.... (love my boxer)

or a German shepherd...stronger bight than a Pit & rottie....there is i vid on line somewhere)..
great gaurd dog,,,tuff as nails loyal & just look pure crazy when they got there game/angry face on

I would say The good ole American Bulldog would be the hands down best. It is a close cousin to the PitBull. It was breed in the deep south. Instead of dog fighting American Bulldogs were bred for Farm protection and Pig hunting. These dogs can take down a 350 pound wild hog. A wild hog can cause as much damage as a bear. Finding an Am Bull that isnt really just a pit is a challenge but it can be done. I also have a Pit Bull who loves all people. Now I bred my southern white American Bulldog with her and I got another great guard dog. Its not even a let people get to know them thing I just put them up when anyone but my imediate family come over. Never let em get friendly with anyone cause you dont know who it will be robbing you.

I got incredibly lucky 11 years ago and unwittingly found a Karelian Bear Dog at a local dog pound. Looks like a black and white mix between a husky and a shepherd.

Beautiful, loyal, very intelligent and energetic, great with kids, unbelievably healthy (never needed the vet for anything other than routine shots) and the best guard I could imagine for home and family. Also a mighty hunter of small game and deer. Just gotta make sure the delivery guys and garbage guys have fair warning or an introduction!

Anything Mastiff seems to be good, IMO.

Still wolf-hybrids are beasts. Used to have one that was 230 lbs. Lean and mean would have been 180. Standing on his hind legs with paws on your shoulder he would look down at a six foot man.
Bad thing. He HATED children, might even kill one.
Plus they usually need lots of room to roam.

I had a big, dark red, Golden Retriever named Bear who would also "Get the Cat". The cat's name was Beebs. Bear would go and find Beebs when you'd say "Get the Cat". Then he'd push Beebs into a courer with his head. Beebs would then latch on to Bear's head. Bear would walk back to where ever you were, and sit down in front of you with the cat on his head. All the while Beebs the cat would be whacking bear with closed paws. They had this game down pat. It was always hilarious. And they really seemed to enjoy this routine as well.

I really miss those two beasts. The Best Dog and The Best Cat ever.

Oh... Bear was a great guard dog as well... which is not usually the case with Goldens.

My Golden which passed away a yr ago due to old age. Very sweet dog but definitely not a guard dog, he would probably lick the burglar or thief to death and help them load ur shit up.

he,he this made me laugh mate,i have also ran through these
scenareos of dogs attacking me just pick it up and throw it off
a wall or something.
problem is staffys and pits are like velcro you just cant shake them off.
i took my dads pit/staffy cross a walk to our usual quite spot
one morning and this other guy was out with his pure white
husky type dog.
my dads dog hated other animals so i seen this guy had no leash on his dog and i shouted "put your dog on the leash the now mate"
twice and he just blanked me.
so his dog came over for a sniff wagging away and all and the enevitable chomp to the neck came.
this was the first time i had to deal with trying to get a dog off
i had mine by the body and collar and the other guy had his by
the same manner playing tug of war.
we changed tactics after a while with a bit of beating to my
dads dog but nothing we eventualy got a stick break him off
the guys dog was not white after this.
he never even said a word after it as he knew he was warned
and the same thing happened with a staffordshire bull terreir
we rescued once the only thing that got this one off was cold water chucked over it.
its totally diffrent how it pans out from how you would imagine it
happening its like the dog is in the green mist i say green mist
because their eyes glaze over green and nothing around them
matters pain means nothing to them.
