Bangi Haze

Apart from speculations and all when growing on slopy terrain putting up retaining walls is a must, methinks ...

As for Bangi, I once had one that was sticky, yet its trichs lacked heads and delivered no punch not even a slap

I'm on a steep slope too. I'm using some fabric 65 gallon shorties this year they dig in pretty easy and are easy enough to keep watered. I am running clones so no room needed for a tap root. :tiphat:

Still running 1 bangi haze cut from years back. Haven't seen many like it and I've looked. I mentioned it in this thread earlier (i think). Small leaves, loves heavy nutes, nodes are plentiful and stacked extremely tight. So tight I need to prune very heavy. Smells like very strong onions and yields like a monster indoors and out. Great plant!

This is my selected cut of Bangi Haze on day 1 of flower. This is one plant in coco. It was heavily defoliated prior to taking this image. Without defoliation, this plant becomes ridiculously thick. I will continue to heavily defoliate and flatten the plant over the coming weeks. I'm not sure how many BH seeds I've ran through - 60+ I believe over the years. Not much to look at now, but give it a few weeks. Flowers fast and hard. Thank you, dubi.

60 plus to find a keeper I can't wait to see what it looks like finished! Was there anything in particular you where looking for in traits?

The high is fantastic, which helps. It yields well and I love the structure of it. A "grower's plant" is an apt description. It also does well outside (42 northeast USA). I've given multiple cuts out to people after smoking them up, as they ask "what is this". Also, I am picky in keeping the right plants, and I've had this for years now.. that's my stamp of approval.

Hey there applesauce
Nice bush you got there. You said she feeds pretty heavy, I have one I kept over winter and just took clones of her. I think I'm underfeeding as I keep having burnt edges and tips. I increased the P and K and the crinkled edges are clearing up. I see mostly sativa and think she's a light feeder. Over the winter I fed lightly with mostly fish and continued to chase what looked like mg and B deficiencies. I recently tried upping my P and K in veg with Kool Bloom in the fish and the issue got better. I'm adding more bone char and sulfate of potash this year to the outdoor sites.
If you would share your feeding levels I would be most thankful.
I love the clear buzz and easy landing of my girl and I got 12 oz off her outdoors last summer in the woods with only 6 full hours of sun. Got high hopes for this season. Plan on putting out the clones in mid june in slightly more sun and a good bit more feed. I'm at 38 degrees.
Peace:tiphat::tiphat:

That was fed a mixture of raw salts. Maxigro produced the same results in terms of lush, green growth with no deficiencies. RO water + .75 tsp/gal maxigro (I don't weight these particular salt mixtures) + calimagic @ 2.5 ml/gal 1.6 EC/800 ppm in coco, hand-watered @ 5.6 pH. I use the same levels on multiple heavy sativas and do get some burnt tips in growth phase but not enough to ass with dilution. Be warned that this pheno of BH I've been running is a confirmed hog. I could get away with more feeding and see zero nutrient burn. I don't fully subscribe to the "less is more" crowd. When under intense lighting or the sun I feed heavy in growth phases and maintain dark growth otherwise I get yellowing/unhappy plants. I dial back after a few weeks in flower.

What are you growing in? Soil? I could be of more use with that information.

Thanks Applesauce
I'm in promix with about 25% Happy frog. I add SRP Gypsum and lime and soak with orca thats my myco, and mammoth P biota. Usually that sits for a month before use indoors. Indoors I use a 25 to 1 ratio of water to fish hydrolysate and have been adding kool bloom to get the P and K up in the last few weeks.
I have started working with salts this season, got a gold dealers scale and am working on a blend for outdoor.
In the growers lounge on this site I got a recipe posted by Jidoka and have used it on my indoors a few times with good results so far
I put 5 gallons of tap water in a 6 gallon bucket and add.
15g Cano4
8.2g MKP
6g epsom salts
I intend to use this ratio outdoors on the Bangi clones just cut. They go outdoors in late june here at 38 degrees. Jidoka suggest scale up to a higher EC if you want but keep the ratio. I bought some bone char and sulfate of potash to topdress with outdoor but am unsure on how much to use. The char is from fertrell at 0-12-0. I have three different methods this year for outdoor.
1 is a 30 gal tub which nest inside another 30 gal with 8 inches of water in the bottom one. There's a net pot in the bottom of the top tub filled with rockwool
2 is a 65 gallon shortie fabric bed
3 I just dug it out on the ridge and am mounding up 60 gal of my used mix.
Last year I got 12 oz of bangi from one of the tubs with the cut I saved. Other pheno's in the shortie had much less.
Thanks for sharing your methods and happy growing.

End of day 15 flower. Starting to do things. Many lower bud sites hidden beneath canopy which will now be defoliated. Sticks of bud all the way down. I will also pull off the lower 1/3 sucker shoots right now. Frankly, this plant is easy mode compared to other things I grow. It is not fussy. It is fed 'raw salts' with 4-1-5 (NPK) and 4 to 1 Ca to Mg ratio. I try for 4 ppm Iron and 70ish sulfur. 1.6 EC/800ppm. In addition, I did foliar spray with calcium-25 and a root drench + foliar of chitosan @ 1g/gal. I will continue with the chitosan on roots for a while.

Thanks for sharing your method, I am just learning to use some salts to augment my biota. I have not seen a feed formula with that little P but the proof is in the pudding and your plants look mighty fine. I think my issues indoors are all from underfeeding mainly K, Since I have used my current formula I haven't seen any of the issues I had earlier. I am feeding at 1.1 and plan to follow your lead and go up to 1.5 or so with my next feeding of my mom. I cut clones last week and have half dozen with roots showing. I plan to put the best 3 outdoors around the middle of June and run the rest indoors later on in the summer. Do you top or just let her make one big cola? Last year I topped her at about 14 inches for two main stalks. She split down the middle in a storm before I got a cage on her. This year I'll be on that early. Good growing and thanks for sharing your girl.

Keep in mind I am in coco so my thought process is tailored towards the reality of that medium. However, calcium is universal. I see a ton of people with calcium deficiency or locked out calcium due to incorrect ratios of other nutrients.

Outdoors I put out bushes. I do not defoliate outside in most situations. I will stake large branches away from center to open the canopy up if needed.

I think our ca inputs are similar right now I am at 150 ca to 30 mg about 5-1. I got a trick from growingcrazy where I put a cup of gypsum in 32 oz of fish hydrolysate , mix til disolved and add that to 5 gal of water. I do this the last 4 weeks of veg and continue through 2nd week of flower. I add liquid kool bloom to bring that up to 2-4-2. I have been aiming for that balance all this year. I'm not seeing all the issues I had with a lower EC. This current run I am dropping Ca to 1/2 of K at the end of the stretch, I am using Biomin Ca as drench in late flower along with some MKP .I am relying on the residual N from all that fish for the rest of the grow and not adding any nitrate past the stretch.
Do you always defoliate? really never did till this winter when some Goji crosses I made were really leafy. The headband I often run has a high bud to leaf ratio and its not needed so much. I have one more run of crosses to flower (elfinstone x goji) and then a sog of Bangi clones I'm really looking forward to. Hopefully I get my feeds dialed in on the outdoor plants by then.
Good growing and thanks for the advice

Nice looking buds there kickarse
That premixed bourbon in case you didn't know IT'S A SIN
Good bourbon should never be mixed with anything but branch water. That is fairly good brown water and the fact they make that mix right in Frankfort is anathema.

Finally got old mother Bangi out on the ridge and in some sun. She has so many bud sites I doubt any will be very large but she's liking the outdoors so far. I put two of her clones in the same spot and plan to let them just go straight up in tomato cages and hopefully make one big cola each. One in a 65 gallon shortie and one just dug a place and made a mound. All are getting the 1.1 formula from Jidoka's posting in the Lounge once a week now. He suggested scaling it up for more EC but I struggled through the winter to keep the mother healthy and now she is happy I am staying with whats working. If it keeps raining like it is I may have to double up on feedings.

My mother plant is growing up I topdressed with cow compost and gypsum twice now and she dosen't seem to want any more feeding.
The one in the ground washed out in a storm and I built her back up with a load of horse compost I had was too hot to use last year she seems to love it. Doing better than the one in the 65 gal shortie.
