Doubt it helps...but the rest of us are as pissed off as you are. I, like many others. Are waiting for you you to kill this. You've got everything to make it work but the plant. lmao...We (I)will eagerly be watching.

Thanks 5th, that does help... a little :) I at least feel good that I worked through the shed's kinks. I'm gonna continue this little thread with round 3 part 2. Thanks for sticking with me here.

Fuck. They're all males. I'm swimming in nutsacks over here. I used cuttings from 2 plants from seed that i thought were female. No more guessing from here on out. I guess the maiden voyage for this shed will be with whatever cutting I can find at a dispensary.

Dude i got 30 seedlings and I am ON THEM LIKE STINK looking for nutsacks, I had a whole grow of Black Domina get seeded by one flipping transexual hermi....grrrrr made a whole room practically worthless, had to turn it all into hash for a fraction of what I would have gotten....man that one hurt so I feel yah bro....

I use mostly clones now but wanted some new strains so I got some seeds from a good friend.

Good luck man I was also watching this and expecting it to simply blow the fuk up!

End of Round 3 part 1

End of Round 3 part 1

Well I just cut down these fucking males goddammit. Gonna make some milk with it so it won't be a total loss. Its really too bad cuz they were looking pretty good. So I was thinking, I'm aiming for a pound out of this shed - just under 1 gpw would do it. I'd need the 16 plants in there to each yield an ounce. So here's a pic of the best-looking plant:

He's a little floppy cuz I shut off power to the shed for 2 days before chopping them down. Do you think a plant of this size could yield an ounce?

hey goozman, i was stopping by to check out your grow and just read what happened. sorry to hear about the c*ck fest in your shed but at least your system is up an running. some cuts and your up and going again, idk if that plant would pull of an oz tho.....

Hey worse things have happened man. This is such a awesome setup. You inspire me to make a tall skinny stealth cab. What are your temps inside and out? Day and Night? How do you exhaust? Or did I read all that and am too high to remember I read it?

Hi gwedo, thanks, I'm honored by your inspiration. I have great air movement so temps match ambient, and I'm lucky to be in a part of town with very mild temperatures, summer days up to the low 80s, winter nights down to the 50s. There's a honeywell fan on low pushing air up to the 265cfm dayton blower which is exhausting air from the top - its sitting in a separate tub on top of the shed.

On a separate note, I just picked up a blue dream clone to grow out and take cuts to fill out the shed. Hopefully not too much longer...

Hi there, me again!

Hi there, me again!

After a false start with a Blue Dream clone and some spider mite-infested Sour Purp clones, I am now back in action with some seeds again. I was so frustrated that I just planted some more even though I am kind of in a hurry. These are under a 23w CFL. A few days ago it looked like this:

with the two in the top corners growing upside down. Last night was the end of the first week for these seeds - I refreshed the water and added a light nutrient solution, added another CFL and also re-oriented the upside down seedlings with some tweezers (and fingers crossed). This morning things are looking pretty good:

For seeds I again dipped into my small and shrinking stash of Pride of Amsterdam x Blueberry Hogsbreath. I'm really just going with lady luck on the strain... it at least sounds nice right? In the middle row I used some bagseed, the center is Big Bud and the other two on the sides are anonymous, perhaps indefinitely as they refuse to sprout. As soon as these are 3-4 nodes tall I'm going to put them in this awesome and empty flowering cab that is patiently waiting on my balcony. I'm thinking to veg for a few days and then flower and take cuts as soon as the pants come off for balls and vaginas to show themselves.

Sounds like it's about time for a seed run, or a partial sacrifice!

Take your favorites and clone em and make yourself some fem seeds and preserve your genetics...

Huntingbb - thanks for stopping by. You're right, I've gotta read up on those stickies in the breeders forum and learn about that.

Hey megayields, I'm not going anywhere. Glad to see you again.

What up fellow SD head. Bummer on the males bro, the plant size looks decent though and would have yielded at least a half ounce. Keep at it, find some solid genetics and use them as a mother for clones, don't take clones off of plants your unsure of, time waster for sure! Instead you could take the seeds your going to take cuts off of and force them into flower before you take cuts to see if they are male or female. Force flower by giving your hopeful mothers a few days of 12/12 then bring them back, itll stress and slow a bit but would be a better method of finding a female rather than guessing. Hope that helps, keep up the good work, I like your outdoor indoor setup haha ;) PEACE

3 weeks from seed, and now 2 days in the shed

3 weeks from seed, and now 2 days in the shed

ASMA, thanks for the vibes, things are looking good so far. I'm rolling the dice with 8 plants this time, we'll see how it goes. Good luck with your LED grow.

Caligreen, that's good advice, thank you. For this round I'm thinking I'm going to flower out all 8 of these seedlings after some veg time and pull the males out as soon as I can spot them and take clones of the females to veg out in my kitchen cabinet while finishing this round out with the 4 or so females remaining in the shed. That's the plan anyway, we'll see how it turns out.

Laylow, a damn shame that's for sure. Thanks for thinking of me, bumper indeed.

5th and huntingbb, thanks for taking the time. So after 3 weeks from seed-planting, I've got plants that are big enough to go in the shed. There's 7 POAxBB with those familiar large rounded leaves, and one Big Bud. That makes the shed half-full this round, and as soon as I pull the males lets call it quarter-full. So I put these in the shed outside yesterday morning and by the evening they had all turned as droopy as an old man's hoohaa, but by this evening, right now, they've picked up considerably and I see new growth. Once they're looking real healthy with a few more nodes I'm going to top them. After a week or two in the shed I'll pull the switch and see how I did with teabags in my face this time.

picture.php

The first pic is of the two best looking plants so far (POAxBB left, Big Bud right), the last pic is of the one upside-down-growing-but-got-tweezered-back-in-place seedling that just barely survived, making it the weakest plant in the shed right now.

They are all showing some signs of stress from the drastic change in light intensity, going from a pair of 23w CFLs to a pair of 250w HPS at the same distance, though there is much better air flow and more comfortable temps in the balcony shed than in the kitchen cabinet inside.
