Indicas make dreams happen
I tend to check on them once a week, but have gone up to 2 weeks when the rains are good. Every 4 or 5 days when they're huge in August and need to drink from the heat. Also to sex them before they get pollinated. Won't be the case this year... Man am I behind.

I decided to stop out in daylight to see if I could figure out where the deer trail came from. It has to be the main trail where people walk cause most deer trails either lead to deer beds or bigger trails. I managed to find it which brought up the concern that if I could find it, so could someone else. Going to relocate to another part of the swamp and it's going to be some work. Security from people and animals is always priority #1 for me.

The humidity was nuts today. Kept fogging up. The focus wouldn't cooperate. Everyone like my invisble plants? 10 feet tall and stacked with buds!

To my amazement there was a survivor!

How often do you visit your gorillas?

This is my first season trying a guerrilla grow, the first two Purple Marocs that i had out I would visit 2-3 sometimes 4 times a week. We had an unusually hot spring here but it didn't stop me over watering.

After getting ripped and establishing a more secure site i only go once a week.. unless the weather is really hot then i might make a water run. My new site is really close to the old one and like to let the brambles have time to recover after I've been through to keep it looking natural.

I have two swamp grows, so watering is automatic. One has feminized Jake's Romulans, I visit about twice a month, mostly out of curiosity because the grow by themselves. The other has regular Mandala Satori that I will visit twice a week to cull males when flowering begins later this month.

How often do you visit your gorillas?

You guys who can grow without cages have it made. I can put out 10, and only 2-3 make it. Sometimes none. So cages are a must in the great white north.

I rarely use cages anymore. Some places I have had moose walking straight trough my cage and smashing a lot of plants. And i am kind of nervous about it not being stealthy enough.. I have some spots where i have made some "natural" cages using dead branches and kind of big peaces of wood i have found in the nearby. It that have worked out pretty good.. It hides better than a cage made out of chicken netting too...

This year i have had 1 out of 8 plants being eaten by a rabbit i think. 4 out of 8 was boys, two of the girls turned out nice enough, one was kind of Harley Queen from the start, so not much more than a joint. And the last one was planted in some strong cow shit that i should have mixed with a lot of soil, so that is also looking pretty depressing with its 2 inches and a nug big enough for maybe a bowl. It haven't grown shit since may and is looking really yellow.

transplanted another regen clone from winter of 2020. needed to go back to a baseline after getting hammered by the heat, so used the FFOF soil.

that's a drop cloth that happened to be the exact right shape for shading a 30 gallon black plastic pot.

took a while to bring them back from their freezing episode.

this one is in the "regular female" category. So far her name is Fem3, from a Blueberry Headband cross, probably.

the girl that Hermie'd after being frozen is on the right, in the 11 gallon bucket covered with foil.

I thought it was because of the new 5G and China

i had alarmingly high seedling mortality and "soil is too hot" was one of the candidates.

black plastic pots seemed to work all the other years but not this year.

still don't know what caused the dead seedlings. if I over-nuted them or what.

but I was using same soil, same nutes, as previous years. all super thoroughly flushed just by rains etc.

anyway they seem happy with the lower temps - :smoke out:

i have mine on a gorilla grow out at mom and dads 4 acre plot, with ravine, and natural creek running through back yard....
rabbits, deer, wild turkeys....fishermen.....the full gamet

and yes, i do cage as well.....a pen actually
chicken wire mesh....and stakes in the ground
chicken mesh stapled to stakes.....so far so good
but dont wanna jinx it....lol

bugs and insects are fucking nasty though
omg, i never realized the destruction, of ALL plants
trees and foilage, as when i started learning to grow outside
2nd season now.....

unreal what my outdoors have to endure VS my indoor
pristine grow.....not a bug....thank god
indoor....all leaves are pristine
outdoors.....its helter skelter bitch
lol...

i had to put a deer fence around every fruit tree, so i know what you're talking about !

usually the Cannabis is on a back deck. One of the back decks has a fence, the deer don't go there.

however, for me Chickens are a bigger danger for Cannabis plants. If it's 2 feet off the ground, they'll ignore it, but anything in a small pot like 2 gallons they will make it disappear. Disappear like Jimmy Hoffa or something !

i was going to transplant some of my extra Cannabis seedlings in the area where the rodents ate the lettuce. I have wire mesh cages so I guess I'll use them.

As long as the plant is big enough, usually the animal doesn't decimate it, it just eats a few growing tips or branches.

I think most of the time the animals are Grazing. It's just once in a while, they go hog wild and eat the whole plant.

one thing i wondered about is planting Decoy or Sacrifice plants when you are growing Cannabis. Something the deer or rodents prefer, over the Cannabis.

I think a lot of times the critters are simply looking for water. So that any plant that is good at storing water & has juicy stems etc. MIGHT be a good Decoy-Sacrifice. Or maybe Lettuce would distract them from the Cannabis.
