To anyone using this in coco with RO, are you seeing any calmag issues? I want to give this a shot for my veg room in the next cycle.

It's become common to tie calcium and magnesium deficiencies together. "Calmag" isn't a plant issue, it is a product, and it frequently has enough nitrogen in it that it can create issues of it's own. V+B has plenty of calcium in it (at 10% calcium, it has more than any element other than potassium) , and I have never found that it needs to be supplemented. My water is extraordinarily low in magnesium, and it does need more than what is compounded into V+B. I add 1.3 to 2.0 grams per gallon of epsom salt to the nutrient mix, depending on how much magnesium the strain likes.

My order should be here today. Been tracking it since it left San Diego. I have been vegging with 6/9, in coco, should I flush before I switch to the v&b? I am thinking no but I don't want a reaction between the two nutes in the coco.how are you guys mixing your nutes by weight or volume? Isort anyone using their life plus? I like to use a rooting product and the price was right so I grabbed 100 grams to test. What ec are you guys using in flower?

I settled on v.@b a few years ago for veg. I would go for good runoff on the first watering with v@b and until the plants are a good size. I tend to get deficient plants when running it at low ppm so I run it at a little less than a tsp per gallon, just about full strength, and with a good runoff. Once the plants are bigger and drinking more I can go with little to no runoff for longer periods. Anytime something looks off I give it a full strength watering with ample runoff and they bounce back

I`m a week in after transplanting to the flower room. Still vegging the plants cause they need to be a bit larger before flippin em. I`m having nitrogen and mag issues. They don't look horrible just a lil pale. It has nothing to do with V+B. I`m still learning. I`ve been running em waaaayy too low for my setup. The latest batch I made up was 900ppm/1.8ec feeding at 4x a day. It just isn't enough. I normally run GH flora between 1200ppm/2.4ec - 1300ppm/2.6ec. I`m bumping it up to 1100ppm/2.2ec and lets see how they respond and go from there.

unless the plants are hogs , like sour bubble is a calcium hog & GG4 likes her magnesium , then no you don't need calmag with the base nutes . but its a good idea to have some on hand if you run alot of different strains .

you should be good just switching over without flushing .

the only additive of thiers i've been using lately is the push & honesly haven't seen much of a big difference .

in flower i start & 1.1 or 1.2 & max out at 1.4EC .

Dollar ...... at that strength , i dunno how your plants aren't burnt to a crisp ! :dunno:

I don't think V+B beats 6/9 or Maxibloom or Canna A&B or Maxigrow in veg. It beats them all in bloom though.
If you are watching your money or have a lot of leftover nutes, use them in veg- no advantage using higher priced V+B. I used up all my Maxibloom and Maxigrow and now I'm using up some gallons of 6/9, when they are gone I have a few gallons of Canna A&B to use up. Then I will buy cheap Maxigrow:biggrin: Anything for veg:tiphat:

Update: So the plants are 7 days in the flower room since transplant to the ebb and gro system. Things are going well still vegging. Probably gonna flip em tomorrow. Some of the GG`s are still showing mag issues. I was trying to make this run using just V+B but that's not happening. My setup requires much more mag than the V+B offers so I have been foliar feeding mag and I bumped up the nutes in rez to 1000ppm V+B and another 100ppm of mag. Looking good so far. No signs of burning tips or clawing. So this is one weeks growth. Sorry for the different lighting but you get the picture. Shout out to The Magnificient for the autopot root control disks. I ordered them the day I saw your post and installed them the next day. I`m happy to say we have roots out the bottom of about half the plants and so far they grow horizontally against the disk. None have penetrated the disk. So far so good!

Glad to hear bro! I've bumped up my nutes to 1300 ppm still no burn either
That's right around where I ran the PPM with GH flora with excellent results for as long as I`ve been using this system which is a long time. How are your plants responding? Got any updated pics?

They look great. Nice and green. Only issue is the occasional fan leaf that yellows and dies on lower parts. Give me a few days. Stuck on the couch after hip surgery.

In your 3rd photo is there a bit of discoloration in the leaves or is just the light?
