During veg, EC goes up due to plants sucking up more water than nutes, and evaporation.

As EC goes up I dilute the rez with pure structured water

Interesting that you are switching to hydro. My new germ/clone technique uses coco to start them.

I then place into 3" coco insert and filled with cc, but over time some of the cc was draining back into my rez. Probably not a big deal, but this time...

Once decent root mass develop I will wash the cc off and insert into 3" net pots side filled with small ornamental stones (Dollar Store)

See pics from last clones

yeah i mentioned it somewhere in here , my nute schedule is going to change quite a bit once i switch over to complete hydro , & i'm going to have to start all over again on dialing in these nutes to that system . but having a good handle on it from using it in coco these last few years ..... i shouldn't have many problems . just gotta get used to recirculating rez's & how they react .

Thanks for all the info dan:tiphat:

So I've got some plants I just moved out from under t-5's to my new cmh's. They're off to a rocky start, partly because I let the coco dry out a few times under the t-5's last week. I just watered, and I wanted to run some #'s by you. PH in was 6.1, EC in was 0.8. PH out was 6.2, EC out was 0.9...pretty much the same. I watered to ~50% runoff, my mix is 55/45 coco/perlite. Does this sound OK? V+B doesn't get my RO water down to 5.8 unless I mix stronger than 1.0EC. Somethings definitely pissing the plants off, you think it could be the nutes, the slightly high PH? The plants are green, just showing some weird, twisty growth, I'd associate more with freshly rooted clones. I'll try to get pics later today.

Just spitballing here, but you think they might need more food? I know I have experienced limp, twisty, pale growth when transitioning from low light to intense light and not providing enough nutrients.

No experience with CMH yet, but seems I have seen a few people comment on "lumen shock" or something similar which just looks like hungry plants to me. Similar experiences when some transition to DEs.

the slightly high PH might have something to do with it , get yourself some advanced nutes PH down . the shit is so concentrated it takes a couple drops to get the PH down . but testy might be onto something with the stonger lighting too . bump it 1.0 & get the ph down to 5.8 & i'll bet ya they perk up quick .
when you first water them with that mix , pour about twice as much through the pots as ya normally would to recharge the levels in the coco , then let them dry out a couple days , not completely dry , about half way before ya feed again .

Anyone have any idea what's going on here? Switched from F&D to DTW. I started to see a change 3 days ago when I added the drip system. Using a new tote that had a burnt rubber smell. My ph has been out of whack lately since my probe broke on my bluelab and I've been forced to use my hanna pen. I need to recalibrate it often. My new probe is supposed to be here in a couple days. I also cut my nutrient solution in half as I felt I've been overfeeding since I've started growing. I'm running the nutrients at .6 ec. Possibly that's my issue.:dunno: ph has been 6.1-6.2 so I dropped it back to 5.85 to see if that helps.

I'm in coco DTW into a washing machine tray. I've been trying to shopvac it out after feeding but not consistently. Possibly my issue. This is my first full coco run.

Are you referring to the lighter green overall color, organic farmer? They look mostly healthy to me, and it looks like there is a lot of new fast growing growth which will appear neon green for a few days, other than that I don't see anything wrong except maybe they need a bit more nitrogen?

you won't lose them, they just are growing really nicely lol. If they start drooping, showing burns, chlorosis or the likes, then i'd start looking at for an issue, but they look great to me :tiphat:

Thanks for the replies yall, I was definately reading stuff all over the board on watering in at transplant. I had been watering thoroughly then giming 3-4 days off on recommendation. this'll be my first V+B to come down, everythings else coming down the line is nicer, but this ones first to the finish line. This was one I had given some +size to and it didnt seem to like it so its all straight v+b now for everything.

I bumped the ec to 1 and put my pots up out of the runoff. I'm thinking it's my backup Hanna meter that's giving me problems. My Bluelab meter says the water temp is 64 and the Hanna says 70. I know the water is around 64 so my suspicion is that my ph is way off.

looks like real early stages of a mag def . PH might be off if your not sure of the meter . cheap test strip will work for now untill your probe comes in . but just stay the course your on untill you can check the PH . the bump in nutes should help some too .
the lack of green on the new growth like alpha said could be the lack of iron from the fast growth & the nutes will help that too .
if you use calmag at all , get one with the extra iron in it it helps keep that new growth greener .

Don't fear the feed mix it up and get them green. I pump all my gear at 5-6 grams and reuse the run off. Just make sure to replace the water in your coco every time you hit em' 👊
