Getting cal & mag issues using the HD with a couple of my girls. The HD is 8-5-13, 10% Ca 2.5% Mg, I was wondering why the K was so high before I started using it knowing how coco loves to bind Ca/Mg and give off a lot of K. What's a good Ca/Mg product to use? I have GH Calimagic but it has calcium carbonate as the source of Ca which I'm thinking may be a lil to late to use being slow to release and all. I'm at 28 days bloom, will using something with cal nitrate in it keep them too green?? This is my 1st coco grow and things are going good other than this, if I can't figure this out I might just have to switch nutes to something with a lower K ratio.

could they just be CalMag hogs truthful ? I know my Sour bubble & SB crosses need the extra CalMag where 90% of my other strains don't . alot of Bogs gear seems to need that lil extra .

I use the RO formula, not the HD, but I add 1.5-2 grams of epsom salts per gallon and it works great for me. It keeps you away from adding any more N and works pretty quickly.

My GG4 needs the extra Mag & she gets epsom only instead of Calmag . the Bog gear needs the Calcium too though .
you using it on every strain Rives ? or just a couple hungry girls ?

Yeah one is an OG hybrid, the other is an OG/Chem hybrid I made. I know their likes and dislikes I've been growing them both over a year. IME ogs luv the extra Ca while the chems luv to suck up that Mg, I'll start adding Calimagic at 2ml tonite.

I've been feeding @ pH 5.8 and I was starting to think I needed to up that to 6.2 for a couple feeds to see if maybe the Ca was locked, after looking at the nutrient availability chart it looks like it needs the pH of soilless mediums to be around 6.0 for the plant to take it up.

Pulled first plant from this grow this morning. It's 1/5 from Med-Man Silver Skunk BC. 3 of them are similar being smallish sats, but fast finishers @ 5+ weeks from first pistils.

This one is 18" with only 4 down low side branches. The longest branch that I thought was seeded was pulled yesterday She was grown in my DIY bubbler. She got one week of ~ 300ppm, mostly +Size, but finished before I could run straight water

She has a sweet smell

Note the small root ball.

I now have space to better see the BBCC. She's ~ 24" diameter and 28" tall

The next pic is the 2 Mystery Seeds (the could be Jack H, White Widow, or el Nino. Looks like the tall one on the right is el Nino. These both popped 7+ days behind the others

I will separate these 2 so each has it's own bubbler

Hey Pet,
Are you running the RO version? If so..you got root rot! If you are using Dirty or HD, maybe not root rot. Too much heat or not enough o2 are most common reasons. Make sure your reservoir is lightproof as well...and possibly larger in size if your water temps are too warm. Good luck

I automatically use the lower figure on everything (1.5 grams/gallon), and 2.0 g/gln when it looks like they need a bit more. The mag hogs get more than that, up to around 3.0 grams/gallon. My water has virtually none in it, though - 1.1 parts per million.

SlowandEasy.

Thanks for the feedback, but...

Not root rot, staining from using coco coir in my 3" net pots.

First time using cc as an experiment to get more lateral roots for my seedlings/clones. When I bought cc I did not know how fine it was. No way to use it in net pots without liners. I crafted some thick coffee filters to line the net pots, but over time they disintegrate and the cc falls directly onto the roots and into the rez.

Now using preformed coco net pot inserts which are made from long fibers, but in my DIY Mini-Me F & D it still stains the roots.

I also noticed some gnats in the net pots that migrated to the roots. Next time, I may replace the cc with perlite

I would get rid of the gnats first and foremost, which you may have gotten from the coco...and if they are in the root zone they're feeding on them.. I used to do DWC when I first started growing, but transitioned to all Coco many years ago I am super anal with hydro, I do not like brown roots or dirty Rez. Besides, I can get 6-8oz from a 1 gal pot of straight Canna Coco...no way I could do that in straight hydro. Coco is way more forgiving than straight hydro, personally I would not recommend using Coco in the net Pot. I used to just use a pool noodle and a 3-5gal bucket...no medium. Biggest buds I ever grew, butnit is more work and too hard to control the environment. I love Coco, will never go back to DWC. I like consistency, and it is way easier to just go straight Coco in 1-2 gal pots and feed them multiple times per day. The plants love it, and they flush way easier at the end vs larger pots. It is amazing how big plants can get in Coco using really small containers. I often have to keep plants in Solo cups longer than usual to keep them from overgrowing. I am glad you do not have root rot...bbut get rid of those gnats. make sure they are not Root Aphids! Good luck!

Since adding the Calimagic to the HD my gals have gotten their act together, so I'll keep adding it to my nute hogs now. Thanks for the info brothers!

Today day 9 flower on my 4 Space Bombs, I added one to the the tent a few days after the others. I had to refill my water, so I am bumping the feed up to 1.2 EC instead of 1.1. Not much to report, plants look nice...minimal stretch so far. Usually take this pheno 8 to 9 weeks. I plan on hitting them up with a small dose of +SIZE once a week starting week 3-6. Then taper feed down til flush, but Plans can change...my plants will tell me if they need a little longer to finish..I like a nicenfade/flush. Will report back next week.

For the Hydro Fans: Pushing +Size

For the Hydro Fans: Pushing +Size

The 2 sats under the Transcend Lighting D 200 (230w Remote Phosphor LED) are within 7-10 days of harvest. Got a few hermie nanners

I decided to see how far I can push +Size, not by adding more, but instead increasing the number of feedings during lights on

I Have been feeding ~ every 2-4 hours during the day, only once at night

Today I made fresh nutes ~ 440ppm, mostly +Size. I will monitor and replace these with ~ 300ppm virtually all +Size in 4-5 days.

The kicker is, I will feed every hour during light on, monitoring of course

So here's today's snap shots

That's 440ppm of pure +size in RO water or tap? If tap what's your base PPM?

I begin with RO @ <20ppm.

For the week before I add +Size to ~ 300ppm, then V+B to ~ 400, but at this stage the plant dumps excess back into the rez, causing ppm to rise and pH to fall

Now down to pure water
and lights off
