ya think i'll need the chiller now that i'm in a basement & winters coming ? what temps do you keep it at ? i can see that in summer temps maybe , the basement so far has been hovering at 70 . i have tank heaters for my rez's when i was in the attic , cuz they'd get way to cold . but didn't need anything to cool them in summer cuz of the AC being only a couple feet away.

why so low on the PH ? they drift up that quick ?

6.4 usually at lights on I ph to 5.4. These are in early veg so I think the lower ph is needed. Am I not correct on this. I used to only ph to 5.7-5.8 until I read a sticky in the hydro threads.

I'm only running a 400 in my 3x3. You think I need to raise my ec? I'm only on week 4 veg. Figured I wanted to peak around 900-1000 or less in flower with this small wattage.

i thought Hydro vegatative PH was 6.0-6.4.

im using Hempy buckets which is a form of passive hydro, this system leaves 2"of standing water at the bottom of 5 gallon buckets which is replenished EOD if not everyday. i have been mixing to 5.8-6 to allow for the PH updrift. After 2 days of sitting im only seeing a PH increase of .4.

heres a chart for hydro and soil for NON chleated
NutrientPHRange.jpg

this website has some decent info on PH
https://www.organicagardensupply.com/category/ph/

i cant seem to find one for chleated nutes? but:tiphat:

you this just dawned on me, why is there never a feed rate for these charts? what EC are they using for each element or mineral, this has to afect uptake too, even if the PH is dialed, can too much MG stunt the N loop? this is nice chart for that i guess, i feel like it happens to me sometimes when i switch nutes or if im correcting a PH issue, things can take a minute to get unfuct. gets me chasing my tail if i dont just let the girl get herself back into homeostasis

I know it's old info, but this is my first round back with hydro in 15 years.

dude that was some hiatus, welcome back :woohoo:  im still dialing in all the info that comes down daily from everywhere too, just jumped from soils to coco hempy buckets. having to tweak lil things so as to be conducive to these hempys, which is so middle of the road, part hydro, part not lol

looks like the numbers are about the same

i have found following the PH curve to flower(ie higher to lower) has helped the plants with the ripening and burning of residual N, as the ph supports more P&K useage

Anyhow, I like the V+B products. They're simple and I get good results. Next run I'll be doing a side-by-side with Mills Nutrients A&B system.

Are those of you that are having caking problems in the container using the bags that V+B is delivered in, or are you dumping the bags into the tub? I live in an area with very low humidity, and V+B is so hygroscopic that it will still start to clump if I leave the bags open while mixing batches of nutrient. I keep it double-bagged, as delivered, and have no problems with clumping that way.

Not knowing any better I dumped my 1 pound of Dirty into the container.

There are some small clumps in the container but nothing that does not break apart easily.

quick question for you guys that use the + size....

it says use weeks 3 through 6-7 from what i can understand....

do u consider the start of week 3 day 21 or day 15?
because technically week 3 would start day 15 right?
i just dont want to use it too early and also dont want to miss a week i shouldve been using it.

thanks in advance.

I use air stones, but a small low pressure pump would work too
