tmp_4824-20141204_120137-1312238512.jpg Sorry I keep posting pics in here, but damn everytime I open up the grow tent I'm impressed. 10 days flower, can't wait to see what it can do later on in flower. Another week or two I may use the +size but depends, it looks like the vb is doing great on its own. Later

I would disagree. Dirty grew faster than RO IN VEG and stretched more than RO in first few weeks of flower. RO bulked up more in flower. I am flushing now and RO looks nicer and is fading better. Also, Chris told me the Dirty was originally fir Soil or Promix....not Coco.

im not a promix guy and have never studied it, ive been under the assumption it was an inert medium(peat?). ive used dirty and tap in both hand watered coco and ebb'n'flow buckets.

to me, i dont think it matters as much how big they get, ill take a smaller yield with better tasting buds any day...

So I have been flushing my RO vs Dirty plants for about a week. The RO plant is flushing great and will be chopped Sat. The Dirty plant is still very. Green and the runoff is Dirty, the RO runoff is clear. I am goin To flush the Dirty a few days longer and runoff more water to see if it will fade a bit. Looks like too much N to me. Both smell great and are very dense. Will report final results. Yield should be similar, but they look different...RO looks better. But final product is most important to me as well. I will continue to experiment.

tmp_3305-$_35-530700148.jpeg I have a sample of the v+b dirty now, was going to use it in pro mix but since I completely suck at growing in anything that resembles dirt I'm thinking of cloning everything and converting the veg room to hydro. I'm thinking dwc totes. I read that the dirty clogs pumps and stuff but how would it do with air stones? I have the kind in the pic, would it be a problem anyone know? Thanks

So what are the grams/gallon requirements through flower on the Dirty? Since it has organic compounds that do not register on ec meters. I'm using RO water. I also have +size.

I got some girls that are 2 weeks into flower.. Gunna do a little side by side. Tap is 125ppm on .5 conversion... So im gunna give the tap formula a run with some +size. Other tent im running the usual... 6/9, silica blast, rock resinator, and I rotate between 1G epsom salt and some nectar of the gods liquid calcium each watering... Never giving both CA and MG in the same feeding. Wont be a true test because these are plants from a bean pop not clones... But ill def be able to see how the plants react and if there is any huge difference.
You guys using any additives/boosters? I know V+B got silica and a few other goodies in it already... Seems most are just using V+B along with +size?
Ps. This is straight coco D/W handwatered setup...

Tyga , you won't need the Cal or Mag with the V&B . i run RO water & the RO formula & theres plenty enough in the mix .
plus with coco , you can drop the Cal by the 3rd or 4th week , cuz the coco will hold enough to sustain it through the rest of flower .

What do you guys think of combining the new HD formula (fast releasing with bio-polymer) with the Dirty formula (slow releasing with carbon chelates)??? Im currently growing in promix and just switched from advanced to HR HD formula with +size and +life. Read about people success with RO/Tap and Dirty wondering if the same concept applies.

The HD Veg+Bloom already has the Dirty in it Its 50% tap 50% dirty with the (fast releasing with bio-polymer) added as a benefit read more of this thread and you will see that iam correct. i would assume that if you were to do this your ph would swing up and be hard to control!

made the switch tonight....week 2 at 1.4 ec.....5.5 grams a gallon...

other 2 sets got flushed due to them looking pretty sad from last feeding with maxi.
i gotta say i dont think there was any use for cal/mag w maxi...pretty sure it burnt the hell out of my plants.anyways glad to have started the transition...

btw....about how much weight and tsp. of the V+B per gallon are you guys using in veg?

fresh cuts....full on veggers and mamas?

DansBuds did tell me the e.c levels but was just wondering the weight to make it a little easier to get right the 1st time i mix up...

im using the r/o for veg and the dirty for flower....could anyone post up a base guideline for the weights, and ec levels per gallon?...it would be much appreciated.then i can just save the post...

there was a feed chart for all the different mediums online that you could get to from their site, but i cant find it now.i think they took it down?

didnt x plant into the new soil yet but ill get you guys some pics when i do.

thanks again...ill keep you posted.

with my 0 water & the RO formula , 1 level tsp gives me .4 EC in a 5 gallon bucket & i use .8 to 1.0 EC in veg . so about 2 level tsp's in 5 gallons to get my desired EC for veg .

thats weird because im also in r.o
i just gave a few of my bigger veggers 1 tsp per gallon and i got 1.2 ec from it....in ur pm the range u said for established vegging plants was 1.0 to 1.2 and these are TK and nute hogs so i went for the higher level, think its too strong?
....do you guys let the mix sit for any amount of time before u use it?
i wonder what would make it so different...do u use the r.o or the dirty formula in veg?
i used the r.o formula, wonderin if thats it...?

btw just incase this can help anyone.
in my r.o water 5.5 grams per gallon gave me a ec level of 1.4 for my flowering plants in week 2 and 4
and 1 tsp per gallon gave me 1.2 ec...i didnt use a card or anything to level off the tsp but they were pretty close as far as i could tell

maybe a tsp dont quite measure out to 5.5 grams?
just thinking out loud...

If using RO i think EC is a better way than by weight - if the salts absorb water they will weigh more ....... i have 50 gallon rez and put in two big scoops about a cup and then just dump a lil extra in to hit desired EC ..... simple

ya musta skim read it Tonatiuh ..... its per 5 gallons not 1 , thats why its different .i mix in 5 gallon Homer buckets & just dump that into my rez's .

plus its 0 water not just RO . RO/DI water for 0ppms
there ain't nothin in my water but wet lol

for veg 1.2 is on the high side for me ..... & my rez's are 18 gallons that set for 4 days before they need refilling . i fill them at 5.7 PH & it might gt to 6.0 by the time i need to refill it .
