I personally like audi better than bmw but I think the audis are less reliable and don't hold their value as much as a BMW

Whatever the reliability is, I cannot stand how audi's drive. It's like driving on a marshmellow!

most reliable car i have ever expierienced is the infiniti g20t - the thing is at 300,000 miles and still going strong with 10% of the repairs of the BMW with 300k on it. it's amazing

The 2008 M3 is gonna be friggin' crazy :D

If you drive an older car, please get your brakes checked. I personally know two people who have had their brakes fail on older (80s) BMWs. Interestingly, both of them were on slopes when it happened. The guy who was going downhill was on a very steep, long road. The other was my former boss. She was driving up out of an underground parking garage.

I'd rock the hell out of ANY M3 or BMW (from a 318 to a 760Li).

yeah 318 is lame and overpriced when buying used, at least around here.

totally gutless bmw, similar performance to a honda civic or toyota corrola.

Yup, 318's have no soul! They are the ginger kids in the bmw world.

I drive an 88 M3 and it is the love of my life~

im very envious, the e30 M3 is an amazing automobile.

a very raw DD

I have owned many BMWs in my time including an e36 and e34. I currently drive a e34 5=spd and love it

thats my car sans the M5 badge (iwish)

I did not care much for the e36 in non-M configurations. They handled well but most are falling apart these days, the build quality went way downhill from the e30 to e36, my 16 year old e34 is build like a tank compared to the then 6 year old e36 I owned.

fun fact: the e34 was the last BMW engineered on paper as opposed to the e36 which was designed on computers with the help of CAD

forgot to add: BMW engineering has saved my life twice.

two wrecked bimmers, both times the car was twisted mangled to death (both rollovers). both times I walked away without needing any medical attnetion other then a shower, a case of beer and a 1/2 oz of dank

^ damn. best safety is to not get in a crash lol.

you can get killed in any car but most german cars are build tougher than say a japanese econobox so they don't crush as bad.

but you can still have serious injuries or even get killed with the car not looking too bad.

i dont understand where the "bad reliability " image has come from ,in europe BMW has a reputation as being 1 of the most reliable cars ,alongside Audi and mercedes.

I think the bad reliability comes generally from people who buy used german cars that aren't in the best condition and they can't afford to do all the maintenance and when things break they say it's unreliable.

German cars generally need more maintenance than a lot of japanese cars.

Like with toyotas all some people do is change the oil and it keeps on going without any problems

Inspirado - I love the E34, esp the M5 version. The E39 M5 is mad pimp status. I really do not like the new 5 series one bit.

Oh yea to whom ever said the new 7 series sucks, I'm not a fan either but man oh man is the Alpina 7 series so nice!

I do not like the e39 save for the M5 which commands respect.

Still it has a fatass, and feels disconnected from the road. The e39 is more like a computer on wheels

now the e34 The BiTurbo B10 you mentioned............pure sex. I know of a few in the states,
I would do terrible things to get my hands on one

also I think I still have some crash photos from my last wreck on my other PC. I must post them, its amazing how bad the car looks and how fine myself and the passengers were.
