Hey JK you are right. I will only pollinate with one of the three male. I kept the big one and cut the two in the 5 gallon buckets.........don't worry I have rooted cuts of them both.
I will pollinate a few lower branches on several plants.

Suby, I will have bud porn for you real quick.:headbange

A Stonehedge female is producing flowers like mad. With the BBXShivas right behhind. Now the Sunshines are right behind them.

Thanks for Stopping by.

yes good taking a clone just in case. there might not be a right gal from the htc for those other guys but im sure theres some lady waiting for him. does the tall male smell at all with a stem rub or even a quick whiff.

how do you pollinate?

He has a good strong smell to him JK. I will match his leaf structure and growth pattern with a female or two like his. There is another male that has a stronger smell but I will wait to see which female produces the best before I put him to work. I have three in all.

I pollinate by placing the pollen in a bag and placing it onto the females flowers to be pollinated. I will keep it wrapped up for a while so it will not pollinate the whole room out. I will keep the pregnant females in a separate room for a couple of days.

Hey under, those HTC's in the group shot have really came on and even out a bit. They are doing the best in the soil mix so far. It was that feeding of N last week in the tea. I think I will give them one more N feeding.

They are about the second week in.

Thanks man, it means a lot coming from you 3BM.

On a note though, do you remember when we talked about the ph values of different types of compost and their use with/without lime in the mix? Well, I do believe now that if you use too much Mushroom compost with lime at the recommended dosage that the PH will spike greatly. I corrected this with a quick dose of pure EWC. Now the PH spike was good for the plants as you can see. It gave it the full range of nutrient uptake and then leveled out.

Nice work! By spike you mean go up correct? If so, I had the same experience. I tested my MC to 6.8. I read theFLINSTONERS post something about using TWO kinds of lime - dolomite and calcite. Now this seems like a lot of lime, but it also introduces a larger buffering capacity to the soil. Does this mean that adding lime and working a soil around 7 ensures against pH swings? I use greensand and dolomitic lime, and include acidifying elements in my soil mix (peat, gypsum, compost). The result is a stable highly buffered 6.8ph soil, right? The microbes process the food I provide and offer it to the roots in exchange for sugars etc. Seems to work, but this has been evolving over my last several grows. I would love to hear from others with experience. :abduct:

Yes

dolomite and calcite

I have been messing with this and using pellets for a top dressing.

I have also been looking into different types of additives like crab meal and such to do this. I have a PH chart on additives some where that I will post up.,

Here are some Stonehedge flowering pics.

I like these girls. A couple started auto-flowering under 18/6.

the darkest one is my favorite of the group.

Thanks for the props guys.

Suby- I have tried to put everything into one grow this time. It has come together nicely.

JK- The Sunshine are just now going into full flower....they should be some nice buds in there. HaHa. They are doing quite well.

3BM- yes those are 5 gallon drywall buckets. I need to get some square ones though and I could fit more in there. I have my eye on the Kitty litter buckets that are square and I believe they are around 4 to 5 gallons also and just as tall.

And I try and so a weekly picture update to keep this journal active. Up until now it was folair feeding and transplanting to add but now its just bud pictures and soon.....recycling soil is where this will end up. This dirt will end up in the recycling our soil thread.

Watching your girls veg was a great show, with lots of details regarding organic methods, but now comes the best part!

Keep it rocking V-man!
