As I wrote, in so many movies the mom is making this kind of breakfast for the Family. What I forgot, in my honeymoon in Kenya, we were in a Hotel which had british colonial style. There I enjoyed very much the close british breakfast with ham and eggs.:)

Lol, only in Hollywood. I have to wake up at 6:00 AM before the sun is even up, wake up my kid make her get dressed feed her a poptart or cereal and get her on the bus.

In real life it's not all sunshine, birds chirping, all out breakfast. Of course the weekends I'll cook a breakfast occasionally as long as the hangover isn't too bad. Lol

Nearly all of the fast food (and even most of what's prepared on the shelves in the grocery stores) has elevated levels of sugar, and/or high fructose corn syrup.

The flavor of 'sweet' sells food, as much as the flavor of grease/fat, which carries its own 'sweetness.'

Type II diabetes seems (at least in Alaska, and I suspect nation-wide) to be growing exponentially, as is obesity (though I have heard/read that obesity is leveling off some), yet the many and varied producers of pre-prepared/processed foods, and especially FAST foods/drive-through restaurants continue to market their wares by increasing the carb content and specifically include the presence of refined sugars.

Try to find a can of processed chili on the store shelf that doesn't contain measurable amounts of sugar. My home-made traditional chili rarely contains any sweetener, unless I screw it up by over-roasting the chilies, and need to add a touch of sweet pepper, or just a micro-dab of honey to it to compensate for the excessively pungent dark roasting of the darker chilies.

To a limited degree, this could be seen as the poisoning of patrons, and a definable health risk, not that I'd encourage the Gov. criminalizing or restricting any more of what folks can put into their bodies; we've burned that bridge a number of times already.. But the processed foods industries might take a lesson from the tobacco industry's experiences, and, more recently, Big Pharma's experiences where opiates are concerned. This stuff eventually has a way of coming back to bite the perpetrators.

We used to provoke discussions in the legalization efforts that America's #1 killer is heart disease, and that if the push behind the drug war was truly a matter of enforcing healthy standards, with all illicit drugs combined killing only a fraction of those who die somewhat willfully from dietary and exercise habits resulting in heart disease, perhaps there should be some sort of King Pin status for Colonel Sanders & Ronald MacDonald.. Maybe Wendy, too. ;^>)

I'm pretty sure food and beverage companies are getting paid by US government to put high-fructose corn syrup into their products. . . :fsu:

Right on, Herman. . . what an amazing place to honeymoon !

In 1990 I visited Mombassa and stayed at a small place on the water, and later camped on the beach near Malindi. There were several groups of Germans camping there, also. What a trip that was !

My last trip there was late 1990's but it was a very different vibe. . . seeming due to political and other regional conflicts and almost no tourists or tourist revenue, as a result.

Two sides to a coin ?

Republicans via Nixon gave us a racist drug war.

Democrats via LBJ gave us the voting rights act.

Could always do two sides of Cohn if you like. That goes south quickly.

The carefully selected pictures each have something in common.
They are each fine examples of propaganda.

Given the quality and number we are seeing,
I imagine that freedom works is providing a steady stream of such images.

yeah, I hadn't heard a lot of first hand info recently, but in 1998 when I went again, it was already on the no-go list for US and others, but I went anyway to accompany a solo female traveler. . . of course you might remember the 3 embassy incidents( Nairobi, and neighboring countries ) right after US took it off dangerous travel list. . . was a crazy trip for sure.
