I also have an Ibanez G10,a Mitchell acoustic,a couple affects pedals and a shit ass crate practice amp,Guitar Center got a deal on a Marshall Half stack I would like to grab!!
Elemental! - Awesome fuckin set man, I love pearl, the only reason I bought PDP is because I got them used and it was a fucking steal.
Red - that fucking hollowbody looks like something B B King would play dude! rock the fuck on, gotta love Ibanez and like I said, Mitchell is good quality acoustics too
Thanks dude, it was a steal from the local drum shop, seeing how they wanted to start displaying the revamped Mapex Pro M series...
10x10, 10x12, 12x14, 14x16 toms, all suspended (no legs!), 6x12 matching wooden snare, and 16x22 bass drum all made from mahogany/basswood (loud as fuck!) stained in this delicious cranberry color.
I have a 20" ride, 18" crash/ride 18" thin crash, 16" crash, 14" hi-hats, and a 12" splash...
They're in storage at my parents house, seeing how my apartment landlord might have an issue with my practicing. So lately I've been relegated to playing my 12" RealFeel practice pad to a metronome. Five months till I move, hopefully I can find a house so I can get back to playing again...
Panopticist- That sounds like a killer set man, I love Mapex they just plain rock, I hope you find a house man, nothin sucks more than not bein able to play because of noise restrictions, trust me I know. Keep on the practice pad to keep up your skills man!
Great thread!!
I play the guitar since 1974 or so.I have a Strato and two acoustics(one Yamaha g55-I that I bought in UK in 1980 (nylon strings) and one Epiphone Texan E-145,quite old too
Verite - I've heard of those things and putting each string on a different amp would be completely ridiculious, imagine the sound!
Oldpink - Hahahah! I feel ya man, nothing beats buyin a new instrument, but I'm sure the Mrs. wasnt happy with the cost hahahah! awesome shit man, give us some pics!
Exce - glad you found what you love to do man, my buddy has two digital turntables the ones you can do mp3s on and they're pretty tight
Cool trees, I used those digital ones before I got a real set. I think they make a new type of vinyl/mp3 hybrid now so they have actual vinyl but it transmits something from a computer live, thus you get the sound and feel of vinyl with the ease of digital. You can check out DJ babu using them a lot whenever he isn't on the regular technic 1200's. I can rock my cheap pair pretty good but they are always on the ground (no table) and in desperate need of replacing with some technics. Even further, they have DJ video things that overlay and reverse videos just as the turntables are doing. Numark created them I believe, unfortunately I have used their lower end models and I see why nobody really reps them any... Anyway check out these vids, you might find them interesting. The second is more my style even though I'm no Babu. Most of the music sucks but you get the idea.
Excel - Yeah the Technics are sweet, I didnt know they had a vinyl/mp3 version, and I agree its nice to have the feel of the vinyl when doing some DJ work, my friend mainly bought them for live performance as he writes and produces a lot of electronic/trance music and syncs them up with Tracktor dj software which is pretty legit software, so many features it makes me sick.
Headypete - Nice man, real nice, nothing better than blazin up a fatty after a show or crackin a beer, only problem is I cant seem to drink at all before a show I get too nervous up until the first note then I'm gravy and you can catch me downing beers and blazing constantly, but I guess its like Tom Petty said, the waiting is the hardest part.
well mine and my son's as they play as well, oldest plays guitar, drums and bass,
youngest plays guitar, drums bass and Sax (tenor that almost as big as him)
he struggles a bit on guitar as his hands are still a bit mall to span the fret's correctly
but he's getting there. as long as theres not a lot of bar chords he's Ok
and can knock out a few hendrix tunes already
anyway heres the pic's of the gear we have in our studio so far (don't tell the missus theres more on the way)
no prizes for guessing one of there hero's, the gig was the arrow rock festival in Holland last year
