have i been too paranoid? I've been scared to go big because of how the DEA and FEDs look over electric bills and monitor the high ones.. is this not a risk for you? I'd really like to know..

That's some quality work there sonoma. I have a good idea of the amount of sweat and labor that goes into building and operating comm scale. Hats off.

I've been out of the scene for a while now but threads like this make me smile.
Take care and have fun.

Thanks everyone, I love it, it's medicine, it's a plant, without plants we'd all die.

This set-up is doing excellent. The room with all the one gallon pots is full, no room to enter, it looks like a loaf of bread in there. Plants are at 5 weeks bloom, and all is good.

Sardonic- indica sativa said it, and I believe it's the right thing to do, and it's what I believe in.

SumHumFun- I can't show during and after shots because it's not mine, I just build them. I may be closely related to the projects, but that's why there are no photos of those stages.

Indica sativa- I leave them in the one gallon pots thier whole life, and they grow to about 3 feet with a week or two of veg.

Thanks again..........
I'll keep them coming as long as I can....

Sonoma -

I am not sure if you mentioned it or not, but if these setups are not yours and you just help build them, what type of benefits/pay do you receive in return? I am curious?

Well lil wayne, not sure if that's your business, but I am a contractor by day, so I treat these jobs like I treat any of my jobs. I bid them, try to get it done fast and efficient, then walk away with a few pictures.

how do people trust you enough to let you build them a room to grow pot?? i would never out source any work esp when it comes to jeopardizing me...if i cant do it than obviously i don't need it that bad...never would i ever contact someone and ask them to build me a grow room so i can grow 500 plants that would put me in the slammer....

Of course its none of my business - but if you are going as far as boasting through pictures, why not accompany the pictures by boasting of your rewards?

^^^^^ 'cause boasters get roasted!

mysticls - I know I don't yet have the skills to build a sonama-quality room. I would gladly pay for the experience sonama brings to the table versus the trade-off in security issues. Also, the situation is a little different out here in California...

i wouldnt say sonoma was boasting , more like sharing in my opinion ?

i for one am glad he posts pics like that , i am using some of his pictures as a blueprint for my next venture .
it is all good thinking and maybe knowing what can be done but when you see someone who does and has done what your thinking , it sure does give you a lot more confidence !

sonoma, why do you elect to run spaghetti top drip vs. ebb and flow? especially considering the floodability of 1 gallon containers?

Seems like in rooms this size, it's a point of unnecessary labor, parts, and potential clogged lines/errors for the shop operator. Are these guys you set rooms up for expert indoor farmers or total newbs in general? I would guesstimate they are somewhere between total newbies and maybe 1 year of experience. (???)

You really like those Silverstars huh? :)

OH, and what ballasts are you going with these days?
600s still right? All lumatek or something?

I am really interested in setting up a side business in this same fashion, but I would like to concentrate on smaller medical grows.

One big problem I have is I am *NOT* in a med state. I'm in the southwest currently. We are considering moving but I may have some more time here. It is pot friendly but DRY here unless you have good connections.

Any advice on starting up? Are you all word-of-mouth or do you advertise?

Nice work! :joint:

Thanks skin, not trying to boast, just sharing, and Butte's right...welcome to California.
Neptune-I like to use spaghetti, because I know that every plant is being watered equally. Also, I only have to water for 30 seconds per day, but with flood and drain, it takes about 6 minutes to fill and 8 minutes to drain, so the plants are sitting in water for 14 minutes, which is probably fine, but I don't really like it. More humidty, more problems. As far as clogging, I use an open ended 1/4" tubing, so it doesn't clog. The only time it will clog is right after you build the spaghetti set-up, sometimes there are little plastic pieces from drilling the holes, but after that, no clogging. As far as labor, it does take longer to setup, but it's worth it.
Most of the rooms are set-up for old-school outdoor growers who are moving inside, but some are for newbies, and some are upgrades. Silver stars are awesome, it's my current fav., and yes Lumatek 600's. In a couple of years the digital balasts will be better, but Lumatek is working for now.

BakedBeans-All of my work is word of mouth. Can't really advertise, at least I haven't figured out how to do that yet. Once you are in the grow community, it's easy to find this kind of work. I've built a few rooms for Medical clubs, so that helps too. The best way is to build yourself a kick ass room, show the right people, and the rest will follow. I wouldn't quit your day job though.

Here is a during pic for all those who are craving pics.....

Ok, whatever that giant in the back of that room is, I hope part of your remuneration was a cut of it :biglaugh:

As always, you're a master at rooms. I'm always impressed by your setups, and as I gain more experience in growing and building rooms, I find I'm able to pull more ideas from your setups.

Awesome
