Afghan Kush Ryder not flowering yet

I've never cloned anything but am going to clone the shit out of some Thai Superskunks this summer. I could try it but I don't want to cut on the plant now that it's flowering. It's the best looking plant we've got right now (others are vegging away but their more sativa looking and in a guerilla spot that takes some work to get to). This baby is close by and I can monitor her every day. I really want to post pics but I don't have a digi cam. I use an old Canon SLR. I may drive to go borrow one tommorow.

How long do autoflowers take to go into full budding mode after preflowers show?

BTW I've been watering (sparingly) every other time with diluted compost tea and molasses. Sometimes I'll put extremely diluted urine in the mix too (yeah, you read right). Straight water other times. No signs of burn or anything. It looks freaking beautiful.

This autoflower forum has been a big help. Thanks everyone, ICMAG's a wealth of info.

grimcreeper, mine (four feminized, Lowlife edit: I meant, World of Seeds AKR) popped up on the 25th of May, so mine are about as old as yours. All are vigorous, bushy and apparently very healthy, about 44cm tall, showing only initial flowering, no budding yet (just the first pods/hairs on various locations on each plant). Nothing from the top node/new growth resembling a bud.

I think the claim of 10 weeks is a fantasy.

edit: I should add they are indoors, 400w HPS, in 7liter soil.

Here it is. There are two tails out of the preflowers today. I hope it goes into full bud mode soon.

It's in a 3.82 gallon container. Odd size, but it's on the bottom of the container.

It's moist underneath. The compost/dirt mix on top gets a little crusty when the day's been hot and sunny.

There are some burn looking spots on a couple leaves near the bottom. This is from last month when it was spending time indoors and got a little too close to the lights.

growdirt, that is good news. I read somewhere that some strains take up to two months to begin flowering. The strain I read about specifically is Poison Dwarf from G13 Labs.

Not bad news at all. The increased veg time leads to a bigger plant, more nodes and bigger BUDS!

Whoa where did you hear that they auto poison dwarf takes two months to start flowering? I was thinking about ordering there because they are the cheapest auto's that i've found but not going to if thats the case. Their description says its done in 2 months.

Every thing I have read said that the Poison Dwarf is a 2 month strain though for the most part the strains I have grown have taken a little longer then 8 weeks about 10.

I can't vouch for the info. It was googling info on autoflowers and found it on a forum somewhere. I think it was grasscity or uk420, and who knows if it's correct. It just gave me a little comfort that I might not have to wait until September to get this thing budding.

Try them and see! That was one variety I considered as well. If I could do it over again I'd spend the extra cash and get something from Mdanzig, cost be damned.

I've attached some shots of the AKR. 37 days since popping. 45cm tall now.

YBG, I hope the auto will become apparent if you wait. My question is, since you've got female preflowers are you just waiting for vigorous budding? It's shown sex under 18/6, so wouldn't that mean she's getting ready to flower? I'm relatively new to these plants so forgive my newbness.

Anyone know how long after preflowers show to chop on most indica dominant autos?

this is only my second grow, so I'm no authority.

I thought that it could show sex even in veg. though I'm not certain.

Today the girls had to go from 400w HPS to 150w CFL as I adapt the current light to an adjust-a-wing to cope with the extra height and bushiness, and I've got my posts and wire ready to LST because I'm going to run out of space if these things don't slow their growth and start budding. The growth rate seemed fine if they were going to only go 10 weeks total but now... who knows? My room is only 1.2m high!
