Ok, I recently have sampled the same strains, same cuts from 4 different growers using 4 different nutes. More samples to come in the future from 2 other growers at least as I give clones to as many willing responsible takers as possible(always trying to spread the love).
I use AN, one uses Fox farm and a popular local brand, one uses guano teas and organic additives, and one used age old and earth juice.
I know not all growers skill, conditions etc are the same but everyone did a reasonably good job. The results? Yield, not even close, taste and smell not even close, growth rate, visual look of plant heaths and roots not even close. Time for clones to root and thickness or new roots and overall health of clones not even close. Resin not even close. Potency? They smoke their shit all day come to my house and are all admittedly overwhelmed by my buds potency(same cuts same moms). AN overwhelmingly out preformed everything else on all levels.
I enjoy flavor from the organic teas and age old and earth juice, but it's mild compared to AN and their bud is way lighter and less dense. Only one has switched to AN so far, the rest are still missing out.
I recently saw my friends who uses gh floranova and although I havent smoked it yet, he's way behind visualy from my observations. My boy who uses H&G gets comparable yields but not flavor(although he hasn't grown same cuts yet to be fair).
Since I quit tobacco over 2 years ago I can notice subtle differences in smell and taste I couldn't before.
I'm intrigued by atami but haven't tryed. People should use what works for them and for me AN is incredible.
My last crop I had to go out of town for over 3 weeks and left a friend in charge. He under fed and under watered and many people still think it's the best they've smoked. The crop before that using the entire AN organic line plus big bud resulted in some of the best pot I've ever seen or smoked. Most people who saw or smoked it agreed, including many old timers. When done right my buds were so crystalized they looked fake when viewed under natural sunlight. I have pics of the under fed/watered crop in my albums and they look good. The one's done right the cycle before were 10 times more crystalized at least.
Sometimes I feel like a dick because I usually won't smoke other peoples weed. Wish everyone would just start using AN and I would have to feel so guilty(lol).
Just defending my brand.

im sure a.n. is up there with all the top brands- but quoteing someone as saying ''it was the best weed ever'' sounds pretty friggin retarded, and since when did resin mean the end all be all? not in my experience.

There are 4 different strains including 3 phenos of one of them so 6 different cuts total. I always ask for feedback from everyone who gets mine, plus from close friends so I can learn and improve, and the census from many dozens of people has been that mine(that I grew with AN) is a better quality than anything else available in the area period, all strains included. It was the same with my old strains as well. The difference is that very few growers in my area growing enough to feed people are willing to spend the extra doe on AN. It's not about me or the genetics I posses. I tell all my friends if they do a run with half AN and half what they normally use I'll put up the money for the AN and if they don't like the results I'll pay for their nutes for the whole next round. But if they like AN, they switch. The reason I care is because I love marijuana so much I want to do my part in increasing the quality for all to enjoy in any way I can. I know many talented growers far more skilled and experienced than me probably grow with amazing results with their brands of choice. But if your not a master and looking for the easiest and the best quality possible I think AN is you answer. All my friends say I should work for them and one even got me a AN tee shirt.(lol) But honestly I'm like this with anything I believe in.
Also you could disagree without calling me a retard. No offence taken.
Money is only an object. Quality is a matter of integrity.
Come on! (lol)(hate saying lol and not proud of it)

i thought a good high was what sold it, my bad. i guess u just sell it in public and not though word of mouth,,
''hey look at this stuff man, crystally n stanky'

sorry but its about high, bright green dont mean shit, crystal covered dont mean shit, stink dont mean shit'

they might help bag appeal but smoke quality isnt about theese things.

if the stuff works then what works in it can be replicated or added in to other mixes with the same results.
so whats in your stuff that works? if u really luv a.n you should have found out by now.

your plants do look really impressive though, great job. maybe your running alot of blue light, people in the cfl seciton have talked about hps growers seeing there set up and going out n buying 6800k bulbs that day-

I don't sell weed to anyone. The quality of the high is obviously included in the meaning of my statements and that is why I've spent many years researching the genetics I choose to grow. I grew out well over 12 strains over the last few years and decide what to keep only by taste and quality of high. I've tossed huge yielders for that exact reason. I now have 3 strains and I'm leaving them behind as well to move onto better things. I may not be growing 12+week sativas, but I gladly choose an amazing taste and high at 10 weeks over a strong stone at 8 with bigger yield. I think I'm winning this debate so far.
Next?

If the question is what's in the stuff that works, I can read the labels and research, but I'm no scientist or chemist. I do pay attention to what many companies claim about their products research and form my own opinions. There are many parts of the answer to your question. Some I know, others I don't, but I would by here typing for another hour or two if I was really to elaborate on my opinions and understanding of complex plant biology which I do not claim to be an expert on. As far as replicating AN to have the same benefits, all it is, is a "replicate". If another line produces info that makes me believe I can get better quality results, I'm open minded to find out if it's true. In my experience so far, no such thing exists yet.

I'm thinking of switching to AN, hopefully you can help answer some questions for me.
How much of ANs lineup did you use?
If you used all 14 or so of their additives did the other growers use that many additives?
Do you think it's all the additives that help AN do so well or can you get great results just using their basic nutes?
Thanks for any info.

Hey man,
I use a lot. I honestly spend at least 1,200 or so about every 3 months AN, and I am happy with that. It's only money. Money aint happiness but my weed is for many.
I use iguana grow/bloom,f1,h2,organic b, voodoo juice, sensizyme, tarantula, pirhana, carbo load, bud candy, wet betty, seenweed(i think they stoped making it though), big bud and I think thats it, I think?
Non of my friends were quite as extensive with additives except for my buddy with H&G. But they all use a full line of products from said brands and many things in mediums. The fox farm guy uses some local stuff I would love to name but won't. It's a company that has a few cool products that are local legends.

All the additives are great but not needed for great results. They actually used to have a part of their old feed charts called more for less. Just the basics and one or two others.
I have seen grows and results of people who use comparable additives from other brands using other strains. I've seen a range of results from ok to amazing, but I still haven't seen anything do what AN does for me. I'm not the best grower and have years for improvement so I'm not trying to act like I'm awesome, it's the products I use and my attention to detail in observing how they work and make improvements from what I notice will work better.
Good luck choosing. I just started a new thread for AN non haters call Advanced nutrients is an amazing brand, check it out.
Hope that helps. That was a lot of typing time to smoke some strawberry cough with the girl friend.
Ps. Bud candy is a huge improvement in flavor enhancement over molasses. When I smoke my sc it feels like I've been hit in the head with something, a bit too strong.

I worked in the nutrient industry.
Advanced nutreints=Russian Mafia
I wouldn't support them regardless of the results.
I'm just saying.

Yardinov is Bulgarian. He is the straightest, most honest of the 3 blind mice. Unfortunately, he's partnered up with some neuvo Riche jerkoffs. Fat mike thinks he's badass because he got busted in WA. w 2000+ rooted cuts and fled to Canada to partner up with his smuggler asshole buddy Robert higgens. Higgens is the biggest douchebag I may have ever met. Gino was very concerned and curious about the stateside market, and gave his reps (me) the respect to hear us out and even defend and support my efforts. I wish he went solo & started a new line...

I worked in hydro shops and greenhouses. Do you know what a joke all of these marketed products are. I don't give a fuck about a picture of a bent over girl and a title of "wet betty". Are you kidding me. You think your going to get better results becuase they are more expensive. Those lables and pictures are ment for pot heads who think nutients are like everything else. "Oh if it is the most expensive it must be the best. And if its the best my buds will be the best"...Please Those who have done real conrtol groups with different nutes know that there really is not much difference. If you have different "nurtient charts" then yes youll have different results with different brands but if you run all brands at close 100-100-200 there is not much difference. If a greenhouse were to use advanced they would go out of business. Greenhouses mix there own nutes.
Strait up bags of individual nutes. They have really good bags that have some nice boobs on the them but those cost more. Its the breast nitrogen you can buy.

Bah, don't buy into their additive lineups, most are a ripoff that are cheaply replaced with other things:

Big Bud = Koolbloom powder at 1/3 the price
Sensizym = Septic tank enzymes
Bud Candy = Molasses
etc...

I just got a big ass free bottle of Atami's Bloombastic from a distributor though, so I'm gonna use that to boost up my current run. For most bottled products at the hydro store, there is a cheaper alternative that works just as well.

yah we had greenhouse cucumbers and ran Peters Hydrosol, calcium nitrate & epsom salt
(magnesium sulfate) blue die & all......

people said they were the best cucumbers they ever ate............

we had the same yields before these high falutin nutrients / internet as now;
hardly a sneeze difference in yield.

this is a great discussion, but again, it just seems to bring up the same ideas that just because something is expensive doesn't mean it's good. but the same thing could be said about cheaper brands - just beacuse they're not the most expensive brands doesn't mean they're better than folks like Advanced nutrients.

Can't really have it both ways.

I think the discussion becomes difficult beacse everyone is really hooked to thier nutes and to what they think is 'right' or not. I get that. I have my own opinions too.

At the same time, I think that if you have experience with a certain nutrient, Advanced nutrients, GH, or others, then you can talk a bit more than hypothetically since that seems to be the deal here.

a lot of folks seem to be trying to look at nutes from a philosophical point of view, which might work in an academic setting, but i think results speak for themslves

sure, i'm not getting 10# a day from my harvest, but I'm getting the best results I think I can get with AN. But i'm also not going to talk anyone out of their nutes...just trying to point out some things to think about...

and i'm not smoking what you're growing....:smokeit:
