Dec 2 DWC @ 12 days flower.

Dec 2 DWC @ 12 days flower.

The 5gal bucket is so packed with rootball it's very difficult to clear/clean the airstones as they get basically incorporated into the plant... I'm waiting to see roots in the res, 2.5 feet away;o)

Just changed out the water; about 7gal at 1100ppm of floranova and liquid koolbloom, and 2tsp Humic. pH floats upward, from 5.5 to 6.3. She's drinking @1-2gal day in cool temps. Water is COLD as a ball-shriveling mountain stream.

Here she be:

Coco girls - GT and Pam, dec 2 @ 2 weeks in.

Coco girls - GT and Pam, dec 2 @ 2 weeks in.

Stouter structure to the same Panama in 3gal coco. Doing fine, as is GT. (puffing on a bit of the GT mom at the moment; my most successful long dry for a wispy plant to date. She's purple, with fruity flavored calyxes and sugary THC that could easily be tied to their stems thaistick style. Very mild and floaty at this point with the same sweet purple fruit in the taste of the smoke; cassis, grape even, but with another spice note, like clove or cardomon... Dig it at any rate;)

Here're the coco girls. Got down to 50f in their room last night, so I will start heating a tad more. Daytime, lights keep the room at perfect temps.

Nanner, nanu...

Nanner, nanu...

Beautiful ladies man!Real stunners!:)

Many thanks, Syd, right back atcha, was just on your thread;)

And thanks Tangwena for the advice on GT. Her mother yielded huge for being cut at 13 weeks 11/13, but purple, feathery clusters, on thin sticks, much like the peacock smiley icon on the right, and branches falling all over the place, happy to grow downward. I'm hoping tah her daughter will flower a bit differently with better nute availabilty etc, which brings me to a little surprise I got when I measured the runoff from the coco girls at 2600ppm. max it was half that going in, so I've added 50% RO to their feed water from the dwc bucket, cut the ppm in half. I knew that mix was spicy, but there's still only a tad of tip burn on the GT, otherwise looks healthy, no?

yeah, well, the Mork has definitively passed and sprinkled nanner dust on pamcoco. No big deal to lose her and let miss GT have the 430 to herself. She's worth more to me.

2 concerns with the DWC: no burn as yet, and ppm have gone into the 1300s from time to time; I'm wondering if I won't see how she does a little hotter. I would hate to underdo it. She's in week three flower, so I'll wait until day 21 and then up the soup.
Second is that the 2 airstones are so firmly ensconced in the rootball, should one get clogged it's hard to know it. I need a friend to come hold her up while I root around in there.

Dats da news.

Hey bro!
Love the control one can have with hydro...
In my little experience,I 've seen GT being nute sensitive in the early stages, when I fed her the same with the rest of the plants she had a dark green colour, while in flower she didn't like being watered without nutes! Also took good amounts without problems ,besides a little tip burn.
Cheers!

Hey, Syd, yep, I love both of these mediums; big producers, and pants tend to stay healthier for me than in soil the length of the grow. I'm already seeing much better flowers than with the mothers, and no deficiencies. You've had these wispy Thai GTs, too? SO far a tad of burn, like you say, but a healthier green than the Panama, who's dark.

I'm also laughing at meself for not being able to cull pamcoco; she would be so dense, such a great producer for a plant in 3 gal pot! Frigging hard to let go of her.

I've finally got around to a final trim of all of Big Pink, the cola of outdoor green Panama (@25g), 1/3 of my bangi haze and I finally got around to bagging the GT; cutting the spears of bud off their branches and into 2 1/2 1gal bags, pretty dry, great fruit and purple hue. It outyielded the big Panama, fer crissakes. Take way early and not in good health. The buds are light and airy, but it only takes 1 small bud of thousands to make a joint, so years of fun from one plant, and the hands are way sticky after breaking it up, dark with tar. Would make a great charas, I need to remember when I chop her daughter.

I'm holding off on pics until tomorrow, try to get a week between photos... hard.

Pics cocogirls, culled pamcoco

Those are the headlines;)

I suffered a bit chopping the stout little panama... just didn't want to deal with the pollen, after all. The GT has the light to herself and will be more interesting in a couple of weeks. Health is all I ask at the moment. The mainstem reacted well to the supercrop, so I may do the rest of the branches, just to reinforce them so they don't flop around like mom's did.

3x3 Panama DWC - day 19 flowa

3x3 Panama DWC - day 19 flowa

3x3 is doing quite well, although I stress about the airstones. Buds are fattening already, and looks like stretch is done or close to it, thank god. ppms are @1450 in the res and probably a little lower in her bucket, a little lower than standard Lucas formula for flora, which puts them @ 1600-1800ppm. Haven't tried going that high yet. There's a reassuring bit of tip burn I couldn't really get on camera.

I could have done more pruning, but I hesitate to stress the plant too much at this point. I'm trying to leave her alone, basically, just get the environment right.

day 26 - photo update

day 26 - photo update

Only notes are that I was able to see both airstones in her bucket were working the other day, and that I'm letting the pH drift higher into the 6.3-6.5 range and seeing happier flowering. ppm @1100-1250. I've also seen a few spots on older leaves... will take a pic later.

GT going slowly, might need more light.

Gooday everybody, dwd

DWC notes - I was wondering why she wasn't flowering as I'd expected, and I've narrowed it down to cold water temps; 56-58 degrees f. I have to find the right aquarium heater and up them @10 degrees. Also, cold water inhibits nute uptake, so I had to dial back the nutes to 900 ppm and she's happier there until I get the heater. I could've also raised the buckets off of the floor a couple of inches if I'd thought of it in time. Live and learn. She'll be fine, just not as massively dense as I'd hoped.

DWC fix update

DWC fix update

Successful fix so far. Got the heater; a 25 watt for aquariums less than 10 gal, and now water temps are in the high 60s and the plant has noticed;) Tops are putting out pistils again at a good rate. Ppms are back up to 1100, sort of a minimum for 4.5 weeks flower. Air temps are ideal @ mid 70s, and I've added a humidifier, to keep things near 30% daytime, 50 lights off. I've pulled that main top to the side so I can keep the lights/light distance pretty maxed @ 14".

The GT is not doing much but slowly evolving, almost imperceptibly. I think with these phenos they get chugging after 5 weeks flo. No worries, I'll take what she wants to give, gonna be a primo;) I measured out two 2 gram bags of her mum this morning for friends, and they looked like 1/4 zips volumewise, they're so feathery;)

My dad came by the other day (one of the reasons I took the 5x5 down), on a rare visit from the big city and he said "Oh, you grow your own dope?" And I said, "Yep, it's basically my lab. Look, I grow them in buckets of water, no soil or anything" and that was the end of that. He thought the idea of the grow tent was highly interesting. Love that man. Too curious to be critical.

Anyhoo, have a great day; I'm puffing on the fruits of Big Pink;) Pics on Friday as usual.

@5 weeks flo - winter grow, going slow...got seeds to sow

@5 weeks flo - winter grow, going slow...got seeds to sow

Anyhoo tomorrow's official 5 weeks flower and I had a moment with the cam.

The dwc girl had some good deficiencies going under the radar from the cold water temps in early flower. So the plant can't uptake nutrients when water's constantly in the 50's, and if you up the ppms, as I did thinking as most do that we're underfeeding, they burn, sitting in a hot soup they can't drink. That was part one of the problem, fixed with the addition of a minuscule aquarium heater that upped the temps to the mid sixties, right now at 68.
Part two, being susceptible to every theory out there and ignorant of the cold water problem, I upped the pH to the 6.3 and above range to let the plant get more pk, and also where the plant can't absorb calcium. A pretty fast and intense deficiency develops spotting and yellowing a few leaves, and I realize she needs to go back down to 5.5 and float back up, although now she's doing so, she doesn't look super happy about it. Also added a 1/4 dose of calmag+ although the flora 's got it. Reflowering as you can see, but I was expecting 16 donkey dicks by now, and I only got one, sitting here typing with many weeks to go and big expectations, obscenely ripped on green panama:biggrin:

GT is flowering slowly and less copiously than Mom, but that's fine, sh'e gonna go a lot longer, even as an ornament. Smells great, by the way. Also low temps slowing her down, but lovely skinny legged babe who's about to get strung up correctly.

Da pics

Its not that bad imo-I have 0 experience with any kind of hydro, but RH and temps are main factor in strech..and what DHF wrote years ago-environment is task no.1 before reaching 1.5gpW or something :)

Hell, man, I'll take "not that bad" anyday! Thanks for the perspective;)

Again, my 86 year old dad helped me change out the airstones on my dwc; still can't believe it. Life is strange and wonderful. When temps get too hot in the room (84f) the GT blossoms and the Panama suffers. Hard to find the medium. Temps outside are 0 degrees at night, so res went down to 60, still not horrible.

Hey, Syd, if you happen to look in, I was also lucky enough and hugely humbled to receive some testers for 2017; I chose the same as you: Kali china x Zamaldelica and also Panama Goddess x Zam. Can't fricken wait to set up the 5x5 and do a full run!

Honestly, what other seedbank can you think of that has the generous heart of this one? Goodday all and happy holidays, dwd

Hi Dwd!Great to hear about Santa Dubi's gifts!:biggrin:You had a difficult time deciding, didn't you?I 'd be in total confusion if I grew regs, too. In about 3 weeks we'll probably see her breaking ground!I am in platonic love with Zamaldelica(not grown one yet, have the seeds though)and I couldn't run her earlier than next fall,so this will hopefully give me a peek...If she is something like Zam Hash,I'm more than satisfied! What a divine smoke that ZH!Right from the hanging branch! Can't imagine with a full cure...

Ace reigns supreme! Not for only the super genetics, but also for the human contact and kindness! When I contact with Dubi I don't get the feeling that I speak with a businessman, but with a kind ,helpful person. And that shows love for his work and quality of character.
Maybe it's a Spanish thing,I 've had a very generous gesture /gift from TnT labs this summer, too!:)

My pop is 86 as well, been growing crappy weed since mid
70's. I set him up with a 4x2 gorilla, 400 watt led
And all my spare seeds last summer. It just went legal
In his state.

There should be a few good stories as this process goes on.

How cool that you set up your pops t0 grow, Levitation. He'll have a blast. Mine's only been high once in his life, and by accident.

Funny stuff was happening with the leaves of the Panama, so I dipped her roots in something that'll combat pythium, just in case. Then, she got her first dose of real pk and has reacted well, as if maybe that was what she was lacking. ppm 1150-1200, pH 5.7-6.2
GT is throwing a few nanners; either from high nute concentration in the coco or heat from the lamp. Finally got her tied up. Smells super tasty.
