Hi Billy if you have 4 packs and the space to grow them wow you are lucky you will definatly find a keeper. I can only do one at a time at the moment its a long process.

Hey Jammie I get one every time I see her too, its one plant topped twice and lst'd, its the only way I can fit these big girls in my grow area. I started flowering 12/12 at 10 days from seed. If I had let her veg any longer she would have lifted the roof.
Those purple haze / malawi would have to be the same, both big tropical sativas.
I am hoping to revege her and get some clones to grow in the bush over winter, the conditions here are perfect if I get her veging under 18/6 then transplant out bush ,she would get 11 hrs daylight dropping to 10 hrs by July. 28 to 30c in the day 15 to18c at night. I just have to water once a week and by August they will be done. I will see what difference in power organics make to her. I will be sure to check out your grow I just love watching them grow. These diaries are great.Tangwena

end of 13 weeks

end of 13 weeks

Hi guys here are the pics of the end of 13 weeks or so, it depends if I started counting at the right time isn't it?
I dont know, I started from the first sign of flower formation, what do I know I usually just look, and take her when she seems ripe.
i looked this morning and thought nearly there I will take a bud off the top of the main cola to cure as a reference. The rest in 7 days time after a lot of heat stress and watering only when the fan leaves start to wilt. We have a 7 day heat wave ahead of us just like the doctor ordered.
if this doesn't get the resin flowing nothing will, not that she isn't sticky as hell already and hard to handle. You dont want to suck your fingers after touching this girl!
If you do your ears start ringing instantly and you cant stop grinning and that bloody Tocklosh (devil) on your shoulder starts whispering in your ear things you really dont want to get caught doing.
When I get to see the little bastard then I have hit pay dirt.
Here's the pics.

Smoke test 13.5 weeks

Smoke test 13.5 weeks

Well it has got there thank god. I smoke tested a quick dried bud, forget the number of weeks, I will go by trichs, 90% cloudy on this bud.
Typical Malawi high still on the mild side, but a week more should do it. I will go for 10% amber.
Dubi this is the best I have had since I left Malawi. Well done you have made my year.
I really missed the ability to not be in control of my mind, thank you.
I would rate this plants potential as above average from my time in Malawi and the many plants I tried there.
I did not believe it was possible to get to that extra level of high after my previous bad luck with my own seeds in Australian bush.
I now look forward to planting the clones outside in the bush, they should get extra tasty.
I plan to cure this plant in the traditional way in cobs to keep it authentic.

Harvest 15.5 weeks

Harvest 15.5 weeks

Well here are a few pics of harvest time
Green weight stalks and all 2.7kilos, I will post final weight after trimming and drying.
The buds are heavy, sticky and dense altogether I am very pleased with the result. I will post a smoke report after a good cure, but right now it is strong no complaints.
I have left the main plant to reveg under CMH light and she shows every sign of making a full recovery going by past experience the next harvest will be even bigger.

Harvest

Harvest

These are the buds after 3 days drying. The more mature buds smell very strongly of lemon and pine, its very aromatic and should remain after curing this is going to be a buzz. Its so sticky the buds stick to each other and will make excellent cobs that will stick together well and should still be quite sticky after 4 months cure cant wait.

Hi mate I have only done it once before, but it seemed easy, just leave some leaves and buds on the branches to generate new growth, and feed nitrogen rich ferts and of course 18hrs light, sativas seem to want to revege. Once new growth appears prune off unwanted growth and away you go. I am in the middle of a revege now so we will see how I go.

Final weight

Final weight

Well closing this diary with the final dried weight 450 grams I couldn't believe how much was lost to moisture as I have never bothered to weigh the green buds before it was a bit of a shock. Still more than happy with the result. Now just wait for the curing to be complete before enjoying fruits of my harvest.

So that's almost half a gpw with a landrace sativa, impressive job! Makes you wonder why the hell skunk was necessary to start the indoor revolution.
Are the buds airy? Cause they look fat! Could you maybe take a pic of a bud with its weight and some measurement?
Really nice job, got some malawi beans in the fridge but reluctant to try them, you gave me good hopes again!

Hi Sprinkle I will take some pics tomorrow they were very dense when green, but after drying are lighter but still solid. As you might know with Malawi if its good, a couple of drags on a joint should be more than enough a little goes a long way.
I will post some bud porn tomorrow.

For sprinkle. The bound up green thing is a cob. 2 oz of primo cola buds, bound tight in maize leaves, Then left to cure in a dry, cool place (my place).
3 to 4 months later wooha! trippy mary jane salami. No you cut off little chunks and break them up into smaller chunks with your thumbnail, then rub them in the palm of your hand enough to make a match stick joint. Then you roll it up take 2 or 3 draggs, shit yourself, get a grip and go make some mayhem. Sorry if this is uncool but I just had a few drags and I feel like superman. Stay cool guys.

Hey thanks for the pics, they look reasonably dense indeed! And I love how you are curing them in a traditional way. I guess this would work really well with airy sativa buds as well, otherwise they dry out so fast...
You definitely convinced me to grow some malawi next run. Why would I grow commercial strains if it's for personal use anyway... Like you say you don't need a lot of it to do its magic, so it'll probably last me about as long.
