L.S.,

Temperatures went down and I am slowly running out of grass. So time for a grow. This time it will be my trusted crosses, Dutch Passion Power Plant (DPPP) x Cannabiogen Durban F1, DPPP x Ace Mauritius x Ethiopia F2 (selved) but also some Thai by Ace and RSC.

I have been stupid and did not put my seeds in the fridge so germination was low, older seeds (2018-2020) had difficulty taking in water but luckily I have many seeds so getting 6 plants of my own crosses was doable. Germination of the Thai was 50%, in the end I have 3 of both Ace and RSC. Seeds are in tubes in the fridge now.

Hi @Podenco looking forward to follow your own sativa crosses and this Thai grow :)

It's very important to keep seeds well stored with gel silica in a good fridge without moisture at 4-5ºC.
Depending on embryo size, seed size, ripening, genetics .... seeds easily last in the fridge 10-15 years with close to perfect germination rates.

Update. Not my best grow, other things take my attention, but it is fine. Smokeable material is coming.

The RSC Thai are all gone. They didn't grow well and responded to flowering light change extremely slowly. This is a production run and I can not keep plants that do not flower properly in 2-3 weeks.

ACE Thai also responded slowly to light change but as the plants, all female, looked better I moved them outside. They do wel outside, with long nights and 15-20 C daytime now.

The best plants were PP x M x E. They flowered immediately and threw good resinous buds. Tropical plant types, high flower to leaf ratio. I selfed them again to get enough seeds.

Of PP x Durban there is 1 female left. Not as resinous as the parents but I could have fertilised better for a start.

I had a similar experience with RSC highland thai, it didn't want to flower at 12/12...changed it to 11/13 and it slowly started to turn...moved it to 10.5/13.5 then 10/14 to get her to finish indoors. And it was stretch city...had to supercrop her several times. Selfed her and will try again at some point.

Your ace thai looks good, happy smoking!
