Absolute Amber from Banana Silver Ladyboys

i am curious about something...
if u are using buds for extraction and getting fire clear shatter that melts great and tastes bomb, what really is the point of going through the extra winterization process?
not knocking it, just curious to know if theres a reason i should be doing it other than just that your obviously filtering some impurities even tho it may taste good still unwinterized?

thnx

I'm not saying that everyone should be sure to do just this way and no other way, I only inform about the possibility and results.

And I'm not trying to complicate the process, on the contrary, I only use ordinary household accessories and reagents, and nothing special.

Ethanol is always there in my house, as a convenient and non-hazardous household solvent and antiseptic.

My introduction with the methods of chemical extraction began with the use of ethanol to clean sticky fingers from the resin after working with flowering plants.

Therefore, the use of ethanol organically continued in experiments with butane for purification the product from the residual gas and foreign debris, and cleaning cookware used from the resin.

I use it not only to BHO. Here's another example of the use of ethanol.
Unnamed hashish was cleared of cellulose and waxes with ethanol, now it is suitable for dabbing.

The smoke has a very recognizable but completely useless smell.

Wax-

It melts under fire and also useless.

Jump, that looks incredible. I really appreciate your efforts to inform and educate. I've learned a great deal from this thread. Thank you.

With the thermos method, is there any reason I can't just secure a filter on the mouth of the thermos and turn it upside down to drain in to pyrex then purge from there? Would double coffee filter work?

Hey thirst, you can do that but only if the mouth of the thermos isn't made out of plastic, as the filter paper will slow the flow and prolong the contact. It would be better to tip the thermos at an angle aswel, rather than turning it completely upside down, as this will decrease the weight of the butane on the paper. If you have a stainless steel mesh from a coffee press or tea strainer, then that makes an excellent pre-filter before filtering through coffee filter paper.

Hello, Jump!

Your post about perification of commercial hash is really interesting!
Am I right you did not use any butane - just ethanol ? For how long did you keep it in ethanol before filtering??

Hey midwestHIGHS!

Candela… horror movie! Smoking candle wax is not good for health for sure.

Although vegetable wax is also contained in all other forms of oleoresins,
and of course in any sift and hashish, including FMCD,
so it is not quite correct to focus precisely on budder.

Hey watashi, thank you!

You’re correct, just ethanol was used and no butane.

In butane hash dissolves slowly and incompletely.
Even when it is mechanically pulverized it leaves undissolved fragments.

Warm ethanol dissolves quickly and reliably, filtered, frozen out and re-filtered for waxes, then evaporated,
it gives pure resin that is good for dabbing, the only way to consume it without harming human dignity.

I do it all the time with commercial hash.
Productivity differs from 27% to 40%.

Here are a couple of samples prepared from commercial hash.

You are very right that all of those non solvent concentrates still have them and all other oleoresins/concretes, its not correct to focus solely on budder. I did notice after winterizing many different grades of bubble and raw bho, that the bho always has had more waxes in the final filter. Bubble hashs/dry sifts seem have more of the obvious cellulose contaminate and trichome stalks rather than lots waxes. Even though the shell of trichome head is also waxy, the non polar solvent seems to pull alot of the wax from the plant matter. Atleast this is what my filters are telling me.

What do you think?

Nice picture by the way!

Thank you, midwestHIGHS!

Alcohol did not initially dissolves most waxes,
leaving them on the filter together with cellulosic waste.

I do not consider myself an expert on the smell,
but if you burn this material from the filter,
then the smoke smells very recognizable odor,
uniquely associated with a stuff.

This part of the original odor misses the purified resin.

Maybe someone regrets about the loss, but not me.
In my view, it is not bad, but rather very well.
To each his own, opinions differ. :)

Thanks for the reply!

This was my first thought as well, a butane extraction done on plant material and bubble hash from the same material before winterizing would need to be done to really get an idea of what has more wax contaminate. I still believe that a raw bho extracted from flower or trim will have more concentrated waxes than a high quality FMCD from the same material. I'll have to try some experiments next time I have some hash.

That smell you are describing is what most describe at the end of a fullmelt dab, most choose to scoop of the cellulose contaminate after melting has stopped to avoid this taste while enjoying the resins. Good nose!
I feel like bloodhound sometimes picking up all sorts of smells that most usually don't, LOL my gf hates it.

Same mess, as selling beer under the guise of brandy.

One can only hope that the villains do not add additional adhesive when pressed this soap.

It is outrageous that the Society for the Protection of Consumer Rights
does not take decisive measures to stop this highhandedness!
Where they're looking at?
