This thread proves the point that there is no reason not to LST. Great micro grows everyone

POMH, how many plants do you have in flower right now?

can i start LST yet? it has 4 "nodes" (do you count the leaf shoots as individual nodes or do you count it as 1 when the 2 shoots come out of the stem? ) sorry if that was confusing

I really don't think it's tall enough to bend over yet is it? You could pinch that new growth off and make it more bushy. Do you know what I mean?

You can FIM it here or do what I generally do and just pinch this set off with your fingernail, it will grow more branches and get bushy, perfect for LST when it's a little bigger.

Here is a LST'd sativa...

Here is a LST'd sativa...

this is K-Train (sativa-dominant pheno):

you can see the long internodes as this one is a stretcher.

and here are my LIFESAVER LST bushes... i start LST at various times, mostly because of the size of my vegbox. Also i was originally planning on using these as motherplants, so i cut the side shoots (growing vertically) as they first came up. so its a combination of micro-topping and LST, but not in that order! the micro-tops are now in a SOGtub, and i have a ton more that I took that I am vegging longer for better effect when flowered...problem is im running out of room in the flowerbox!! i may have to turn the vegbox to flower (i have a deadline coming up where i will have to shut this down... i want to make a batch of seeds from some of the SOGclones in case i cant keep mothers at a friend's house....)

incidentally, i burn holes into the rims of the plastic pots with a hot bit of wire, and then use opened-up large paperclips or bits of coathanger wire to make hooks to pull the shoots down horizontal... more bud sites, and less vertical growth, so i can keep away from the twin unshielded 400watters in my cab (160w/sqft!!!) :)

Thanks Pomh, I have been wanting to try some kind of training but it needed to be easy. Yours was the easiest to me. I'm psyched at how well this is turning out.

I don't have a grow diary here. I've been cloning this Skunkberry all year and after a while the pics all look the same. The LST is different. I'll put pics of them here, if thats ok?

2 weeks in flower. This is pretty fun. The canopy is not as even as I had hoped, but not bad for my first try.
