Greetings Gang!
First I would like to thank everyone for the birthday wishes, it was a real treat to log on and see everyone's posts on the announcement thread, as well zep's and sunny's here at the Bud Shack. I just love birthdays, they always remind me of where I have been, and where I have yet to go!
Fredster - Thanks for the nice words, glad you are enjoying the picture show! Tonights submission is dedicated to you, as I thought everyone might like to see an update of the BOG garden in flower. These will be more documentary shots than anything fancy, but you can see the results of my way of doing things. I do plan on doing a grow thread soon as the soma seeds arrive, and WallyDuck was also kind enough to send some seeds my way, so we'll be documenting that grow as well.
Greets steel savage - glad you are liking the pics! Tonights post will have 3 shots of the Lifesaver, mine are now on day 18 of flower mode so you can compare to yours. She's starting to bud nicely now, and I expect her yield to be very high with the multiple budsites from her topping.
So let's take a look at the BOG's shall we? We'll let the pictures do the talking! First up:
Greetings Guvnor - Thanks for stopping by, so glad I could put a smile on your face!
Things are rolling along here at the Bud Shack, the recent harvests are all snuggled in their cure jars, and the BOG grow is now well into the flowering stage. Today I pollinated all the BOG gals, as well as the Jock Horror clone I have in flower. The following crosses were created:
Sour Bubble x Lifesaver
Sour Bubble x Super Sweet Cindy
Super Sweet Cindy x Lifesaver
Super Sweet Cindy F2's
Sour Bubble F2's
Sour Bubble x Jock Horror
Can't wait to see what happens... we'll be growing out some of these later in the year right here in the Bud Shack! Here are a few shots of the BOG gals taken recently:
They have arrived, the special sunnyside soma seeds!
For those of you that may be new arrivals to the Bud Shack, these seeds were a gift from fellow ICMAG member sunnyside. What makes the gift even more special to me is that sunnyside did not have the seeds himself, but instead arranged with DG for them to be purchased and sent to me from Seeds Direct. This was truly a special act of brotherhood, as I do not personally know sunny, and have had no contact with him outside of the Bud Shack thread. My heartfelt thanks go to sunnyside for this true act of selflessness, and I will be documenting the grow in my first ICMAG grow journal, "The Fellowship of the Weed - A Sunnyside Soma Story". Look for it soon in the Growers Forum in the Indoor Grow - Soil section. Thank you sunnyside!
Hey abby do u use pearlite in your soil or just hydroton. seems like home depot lowes or walmart dont sell pearlite here this time of year or hydroton for that matter. think ill be going to the urban garden shop and gettin fox farms soil.
Sweet shots Abby , makes me wanna go buy a new camera ... again
i'm starting to think that a nikon coolpix is in order considering howmany great
shots their are on IC mag , my 2 mega pix just isn't cutting it this year .
very nice stuff abby for sure and what a nice gesture on sunnysides part thats what i've found hangin around gypsy's site.people with BIG hearts and smiling faces very kool.
The males have done their job, as several bud sites have started to turn color and swell slightly. I'll be collecting a bit more pollen for storage, and then will cull the males. I don't have the room to keep them around, but I thought it would be interesting to try a BOG cross with the Soma Lavender, so I want to keep some pollen for several months.
I started the last post very late last night and just submitted what I had already done, and missed a few folks that dropped by in the process. Let's catch up for a sec before I post some new pics shall we?
immortal - NO, I don't add anything to the Fox Farms Ocean Forest / Miracle Grow mediums except for the hydroton. I am experimenting with a new medium from Lowes called Jungle Grow, and that does not have enough perlite in it for my taste, so I would add some to that mix. I use really large containers (15") for flower, they use about 1.2 cu ft. of soil mix each. That's why I started to mix the Ocean Forest with the Miracle Grow, at almost $20 for a 2 cu ft. bag for the Ocean Forest it was getting expensive using the Fox Farm soil all by itself!
Organic Hydro - thanks for stopping by! I really enjoy this new hobby of mine, and I find myself challenged to take better pictures every day. So get get that new camera and start snapping!
sttb - Greetings and welcome to the Bud Shack! ICMAG is a very nice place, with lots of friendly and helpful people. And there are a few people like sunnyside who continue to set an example by their selfless behavior, an example for us all to live by!
Okay, let's get to some new pics that I didn't have time to post last night. Today we showcase the BOG Lifesaver. Everyone seemed to go crazy over Bleek's little bathtub baby, and if you think that his was a monster, mine must be a behemoth. Hmmmm... BOG's Behemoth Bud, that does have a certain ring to it! Here's a full plant shot of her at day 26 of flower.
As you can see she was topped at an early age, and she has 4 very large main colas that almost reach to the top of the 4' long bamboo stake used for support. As thick as her stem is she has no need for support at this point, but I do expect those buds to be massive, so we shall see! Here's a closeup of one of the main colas:
Closer you say? How about this one of my untopped Lifesaver:
Let's take a flyover for an aerial view:
I like the Lifesaver, but to be honest, my favorite plant of BOG's in this grow is the Super Sweet Cindy. She is a real gargantuan, makes even the topped lifesaver look small. Here's a little pic of a Super Sweet Cindy bud to end the post with:
You one one professional photographer!!!!!And I certainly can't leave out the expert grower either!!!!!!!!!
Wonderful pics Abby.............................Take care...................CC
thanks abby, fox farms is expensive but since this is my second grow, first with real high quality genitics, i think itll be worth it. plus im doing a stealth grow so i wont need too much. hey heres a pic of the first plant i ever grew. who can tell me what i did wrong, maybe i harvested too early, maybe ph? this is the top bud of a 3 foot plant, bagseed very airy bud.
