Howdy Folks!
So nice to be back home, and the ladies in flower did quite well in my absence. At this point, they are still not quite ready, even though this is now day 61 of flower mode. Only a matter of days until they are ready, and it appears that I will now be harvesting on Thanksgiving. Turkey and buds... what a combination!
Several of the plants have really turned colorful, and I couldn't resisit doing a few pictures tonight. Before we get to those, a quick shout out to our visitors:
Budgrinder - Thank you sir... and I will!
BushyOldGrower - The BMR is indeed looking mighty nice, she has really gotten colorful in the past few days. Can't wait to start those SB3's!
IckySticky - Thanks, and the Monster Bubble is looking exceptional at this point, now if they only smoke as good as they look! As for the D200... I've ordered mine already!
The long anticipated Grow 7 Harvest has finally started tonight with the two Monster Bubble purple phenos and the Sour Bubble 1BX incross being first on the chopping block. The girls have been in 24 hours of night mode and look absolutely beautiful. It's time to put on the gloves and start trimming... but before I do a quick shout out to Budgrinder, Milonix420, strain_searcher, and Organic Hydro... thanks for dropping by the shack, always a pleasure to hear from everyone. Stay tuned, because this party is just getting started!
Abby
Howz it? Great i hope.. Man ive just been lost in here as usual.. I sometimes just pick a
page and start from there.. To much porn to just leave unviewed.. Anyhow nice updates since i been here last... Keep up the bea UD ful work. Its nugolishusly tasty..
peace..
Yummy shit! Did you find sour bubble difficult to clear? The thick leaves have a lot of chloraphyll in them and they take a little longer on plain water than most strains to clear and get some yellowing. I see some color changes however so I know you were clearing. When you feed them well in flowering its hard to stop them as they seem to have a reserve of nitrogen in them somewhere but its still probably in the plant itself. BOG
The Grow 7 Harvest continues with BOG's Blue Moon Rocks beauty on center stage. She's certainly a colorful gal, and has a sweet candy/berry fragrance. Producing many big, thick, resin covered buds, she will be one of the best yielders in this run. I know BushyOldGrower and I like to joke back and forth about me working for him, but I am quite sincere when I say this is perhaps the nicest one of his strains I have had the pleasure to grow. We're not talking about smokeability at this point, just yield, ease of grow, and plain good looks puts this one ahead of the Lifesaver, Sour Bubble, and Sweet Cindy... at least in my book. So without further ado... Here's the many faces of BOG's BMR!
BOG's BMR @ 63 Days
Isn't that the shiznit? And now for our visitors:
sackoweed - Hey sack! Thanks for stopping by... you picked a good time as the harvest is finally here. It's going to take a few days to finish, but there will be lots more "bud porn" to come!
kilacaLIbud - Thanks, they do look delicious don't they? I will be sure to take some nug shots for you when they dry!
KingRalph - Thanks for dropping by, I'm so glad you're enjoying the "treats". As for any growing skills, I've always said that it's not me, it's the plants. I guess I just get lucky on occasions.
BushyOldGrower - What can I say Master BOG, your Blue Moon Rocks exceeded my expectations. My hats off to you sir, the BMR is one kickass example of your genetics, and she will always have a place in my garden. As for your question on the Sour Bubble "clearing", I have found that the leaves actually darken during the plain water period before harvest, that is really evident in the Sour Bubble incross and the Monster Bubble (Jock Horror x Sour Bubble 1BX). The leaves turn a reddish purple, almost black, and I have yet to see a true "yellow" leaf on one. I would say it's in the plants genetics to not turn yellow, compared with the BMR it's quite striking, considering they are in same environment, same pot with same soil, fed the same, basically everything was identical. I do veg longer than most folks, so mine probably recieve more nitrogen, but they are also larger, so they should burn up the remaing nutrients faster.
This brings me to an interesting point, The Sour Bubble 1BX is, in my experience, very low yielding, but does has exceedingly large leaves. Perhaps it just doesn't burn use the nitrogen at the same rate as a more "robust" plant like the BMR would. But I can tell you the Sour Bubble I grew originally smokes just fine... green leaves and all!
It is truly a bountiful Thankgiving here at the Bud Shack as we have a holiday feast of turkey with all the "trimmings". Lots and lots of trimmings as you can see from the picture above of the BMR harvest. At the moment, I'm about to harvest the Big Cindy's, but before I do I thought I would share a few more Thanksgiving photos with you.
Damb abby I didnt know your plants were that big. Taller than you I see. What a fun thread and I am still in awe of the photos and hope to get as good. I think Bogs males are very very special and will be a staple in breeding years to come.
strain_searcher - Oh yes, Abby's Bud Shack is full of big, beautiful girls, I know it's hard to tell just how big without some sense of scale, so here's a shot of my Big Cindy's right before the chop:
Who says you can't grow big indoors?
Bonzo - Happy Thanksgiving to you as well, so happy you like my version of the Lifesaver x Sour Bubble. She is definitely a special girl, and she has the most wonderful grape candy fragrance. Just plain yummy! However, I believe my favorite is probably the Big Cindy's, nice resin covered buds with a wonderful sweet and fruity pineapple aroma. Let's take a quick peek at the Big Cindy's up close:
