Abby's Bud Shack

Just a few quick pics of my current virgin Sweet Cindy, as tonight I'm harvesting the last of my seeded sc99 clones crossed with a Soma Lavender male. Lot's of seeds, but relatively little actual bud... thank God I didn't seed them all! This pretty gal is the last of my sc99 clones, and has been in flower now for a little over 30 days. She smells very sweet and fruity, with a wonderful sugary coating of trichomes.

hey ABBY GREAT THREAD, even better camera skillz! o and even better than that is the plants

I GOTTA ASK!

what is the most potent strain you have growing? or grown?

I grew lifesaver, still have 1 bean left but it wasnt what I expected like a tooth numbing stone, nope NL is stronger, my ls was a beauty though very berry looking

peace

p.s. my a99 looks a ton similar to your c99, and I still think NL is more potent? have you smoked any NL?

Howdy All

This weekend I started several different strains in peat pellets, a first for me. They certainly were very easy to use, and the seeds were placed directly into the pellets without any presoaking as the peat pellets were wet enough. The new batch of seeds is comprised of 5 different strains, with 4 seeds planted per strain. This grow should be very interesting as it includes some special crosses that have not been done before. What are they you ask?

Sour Bubble F2 (my cross)
Sour Gum (Bubble Gum x Sour Bubble - courtesy of Weeweeman)
Big Gum (BG x BC BB x Sour Bubble - courtesy of Weeweeman)
Heaven's Horn x Ice (my cross)
BOG's Blue Moon Rocks (Bog's originals)

Hopefully there will be a few poking out tomorrow! :yummy:

The Soma and Sweet Cindy gals currently in flower are doing well, although the soma lavender's are not very colorful, unless you count the yellow leaves my oldest gal has. I guess they must need cold to turn, which is a bit of a disapointment. But, just a bit, as you can see from the pictures below, there is nothing to be disapointed about in the bud formations!

Soma Lavender

The Sweet Cindy in flower is my last clone from the previous BOG seed grow, and she keeps getting prettier every day. I don't know her exact age, but I would think she is no more than a week or two out. Have to get some batteries for my scope, so I can't tell the trich ratio at this time. Here's a few pics:

A special shout out to our latest Bud Shack visitors, mosess187, BongSmoke, SPDemon420... glad you boys are enjoying the show! :lurk:

To answer the questions posed by BongSmoke, the most potent strain that I have grown is the White Rhino pheno of Heaven's Horn, it's almost hallucinatory. :yoinks:

And no, I have not had the pleasure of trying any Northern Lights, although I understand the strain is both potent and easy to grow. I was also a bit disapointed in my Lifesaver's stone and aroma, not exactly what I expected, but it was okay. The Sour Bubble I thought was a great stone, but was a poor yielder, and the Sweet Cindy is also very good. Alas, so many strains and so little time!

good show on the lavender Abby!!
It is the hottest part of the year (for most of us), are you considering keeping her to run in the winter, when temps can be down a bit? She is definately a nice looking bud nonetheless and who knows... she could be a wonderful buzz.

Hey Sunnyside!
The Soma is coming along, but alas, I am afraid we won't be seeing much color. But, as they say, the fat lady hasn't sung yet, although I know the purpose behind your exceptionally kind gift of these seeds was to have me photograph some colorful buds. Sorry I wasn't able to get any color for you.

Howdy hilljack!
Thanks for stopping by. Yes, I didn't think the two lifesaver gals I had were anything like what the hype surrounding the plant led me to believe. And of the two plants I had, each was of a different pheno. And while the Lifesaver I grew was not all that powerful, it was certainly a beautiful plant as you can see below:

Hiya RED145 - Glad you stopped by. I'm really looking forward to that HH x Ice cross as well, however I haven't had any of the seeds pop yet. I hate waiting!

Greets Sunnyside - I must admit a bit of selfishness on my part, as I was really hoping for some nice exotic colorations. But despite the lack of color, the buds are very beautiful and super frosty. So once again, thank you for the gift! :yummy:

Hi All!
Just a quick update on the new grow... so far the peat pellets seem to be fantastic, very simple and easy to use and they retain their moisture well. I think I like them much better than the Rapid Rooters. So far, none of my crosses have popped, and only one of the four Blue Moon Rocks have surfaced. Weeweeman's crosses however are almost all up, only one straggler Sour Gum still hasn't come up. Today I placed all the seedlings that surfaced into containers under 42W cfl's, the seeded peat pellets are under a pair of dual 4' flouro's.

Had a few moments tonight, so here's several new pics of the current plants in flower:

Greetings GudBud - Thanks for stopping by the Bud Shack, so glad you are enjoying the buds :)

Hard to believe it's been almost a year now since I discovered this site, even harder to believe I have been participating in this little hobby for a year. It seems like only yesterday I was saving every leaf that came off the plants for some future use that never materialized, or having to dry out buds in a food dryer just to have something to smoke. It's been a long strange trip indeed, and a helluva lot of fun. Met some very nice folks between here and OG, and while I don't post as often as before, or have time to visit other threads, I still enjoy the thrill of watching something grow from a tiny seed to a beautiful bush. Perhaps the most rewarding part of the past year has been the comments from fellow enthusiasts that have visited my threads, and the feeling that, perhaps in some small way, I was able to share some of the beauty and wonder of this magnificent plant with all of you.

To be honest, I have been contemplating leaving the "scene", as I am now past the middle age crisis that started all of this, and time has become a more precious commodity these days. However, growing does give me a real sense of enjoyment and fullfillment, and since I do love taking pictures and sharing them with all of you, the pros for me still outweigh the cons... at least for now. So you'll just have to put up with some more new pics, for at least another grow!

Speaking of another grow, I was very disapointed in the seeds I had germinating, as NONE of the seeds that I had produced sprouted. Not one... geez, I suck bad as a breeder! BOG's BMR seeds didn't fair much better, as only one of the four BOG seeds came up. You would think that I must have done something wrong, however ALL of the seeds from my buddy Weeweeman came up, although one was just a stalk and missing it's head. So, at this point I have placed more of my own crosses into germination, hopefully I will get something to pop! Here's a little shot of some of the eight new kids that did come up:

And of course, a few pics of the Soma and Sweet Cindy taken yesterday evening:

abby what are your germ methods that you are having problems with

obviously they have worked for you in the past but....

Greetings Gang!

A special shout out to dRbreiT0r, hoipoi, and hilljack... thanks for stopping by fellas, glad you like what you see! As for my method of germination, this was the first time I had ever used peat pellets, and I did not pre-germinate using my sponge method. I just watered the pellets and placed the seeds inside as directed. Obviously, if I had done something wrong none of them would have popped, but I did get 100% germ rate from two strains planted, which leads me to conclude it's not the pellets or method... it's the seeds themselves. I went back and dug out the seeds and sure enough, none of them had opened. Looks like those damn space aliens are zapping my seeds again. If they aren't out mutilating cattle or anal probing some poor soul, they are messing with my seeds! :yoinks:

Nothing has come up yet on the second group of seeds, although I am hoping to see something pop tomorrow. If not, I'll do my old paper towel/sponge method of germination and see what happens. Kind of a bummer not having anything of my own creation sprout!

Was just deleting some old pictures to make room when I ran across these nice Jock Horror and Heaven's Horn budshots. This was back when the gallery allowed larger pics than it does now. Be sure to click on it for full effect (as in all my pictures).

I just hate to post without putting in some eye candy!
