Have had nothing but early failures with Merrell hiking products.

Probably a bald face hornet, they sting on the fly...

mg

I've been through 2 pairs of their 1st generation Trail Gloves, 2 pairs of their older water sport model (I used them trail running..not anything water)...and about done with this 1st pair of Ascends (which are a slightly padded minimalist shoe)

I'll get another pair of Ascends soon enough...but will modify them with the urethane sealant..straight out of the box. I've modified quite a few trail shoes by now. Haven't found a shoe yet...that can hold up on its own...past 300 miles.

I've concluded...it's just the way it is...300 miles is the mark. I used to think shoes should last for 500 miles...but I've lowered my expectations.

* Yeah...I really wanted to get a look at those insects...but I'm telling you..they were not going to let me. I run in just shorts and shoes..so when they came at me again (couldn't really see them..but felt them bumping into my head)...I didn't hang out too long. Not long at all.

Full Sun Scrub Plant

Full Sun Scrub Plant

I hit her with a big dose of bloom formula today. It's the 1st time I've watered her since the T-cells came through.

^ so yup....hit her with feed and gave her a heavy duty hair cut. I'm estimating she'll be finished up mid October..so...this may have been her last feeding...and for sure...her last leaf pruning. I didn't leave much on her...exposed all the flowers. Going for broke....wide open from here on out

Starting to really reek...aroma is very familiar...see if I can peg it..by finish time.

have you been sending the shoe companies feedback? you never know, could be some free shoes in it..
i called a shoe company once to tell them their shoes had sucked so bad and were so poorly designed that i took them off and threw them away and walked home barefoot rather than let their shitty sandals cut my feet any worse, they sent me a 100 dollar gift card for their shoes...

lol,and im happy theres a wild soaptree yucca coming up in my yard, you're going to get a bag of buds off yours!

For sure...I've communicated with every brand I've worn...for the last 3 yrs. I'm on a few lists...as a potential product tester..but nothing has come out of it yet. Haven't scored any free product..but I'm hopeful. A New Balance dude e-mailed me....but that was in May or June...

I honestly feel like I should be discounted...just because of the volume of shoes...I'm going through. I love the Ascends..but I'd love them more..for say...40% off $120. If I need a new pair every other month...40% off would be a fair deal for both parties.

Hell...for 40% I'd even give them brand loyalty...lol....for FREE shoes...I'd wave their flag.

* Went down the beach the other day...bought a new pair of $80 board shorts at 40% off....took them home and cut them practically into a kilt.....cha ching...1st pair of new running shorts I've had in 2yrs. I'll get 2yrs out of these...but I go through many pairs of under briefs...in that time frame. Good briefs are like $30-$40 a pair...

.......yeh mon have high hopes for that Scrub plant. Think she may be some good running man weed.

More Harvesting

More Harvesting

My schedule is dictating harvest time frames. Multi harvesting Satechism IX1 and OG Kush X BS 2.2 IX1

^ in the fore ground are some Satechism flowers...day 62. At the other end are some OG X BS 2.2 flowers...day 77

^ Satechism....foxtailing new growth..but also ready to go

^ Fat flower of OG X BS 2.2

Today (on day 20).....the Red Krox plant was heavily defoliated and somewhat tied into place. You can see all the supercropping that has been taking place...over the last 7-10 days...keeping stretch in check.

Queen Mox Clone: Day 50

Queen Mox Clone: Day 50

100% adore this plant. Very much like the Chem DD (Deliah) mom...same exact aroma..same exact flower structure...very much the same..but Queen Mox is a bit more supercharged

^ Hollow branches...flimsy...very easy to bend repeatedly. I've been adjusting her branches...as she progresses in her...flower making. Picked a few nanners off her top flowers...nothing major...real easy to see in contrast to her coloring. Mostly I bend her flowers down..let her flop

Her flowers are not dense...they look like they could be...but I know exactly how they will dry out. They won't shrink...but they will be light (though airy is not a description I'd use...for some reason)...the flower meat a white/lime green...with super dark green sugar leaves. Total bag appeal.

Give you an idea of her flower structure...bit different than her seed run....but identical to the Chem DD "Deliah" mom...spot on...this is Deliah

^ best pix I can get until harvest. I'm still pumping her with P...haven't seen the need to begin flush. Can't remember what day she finished on...as a seed plant...but probably 70 days for her...this run.

* I'm looking at her children (Mox Mox IX1)....but have not had one...that stands out...like she did. I keep looking for her in there...thought I'd get at least a couple...that would represent her expression. We'll see in flower...but in veg...I'm unable to see

** I plan on keeping the Queen Mox Clone around...and like her mother...I'll breed the hell out of her. The expression just appeals to me...really enjoy her

*** as a seed plant...she was not as flimsy for some reason. Now that I've been growing in a vertical arrangement...flimsy plants are perfectly fine with me. It's not hard for me to work with them...they'll do whatever you want..go easily...into any pose...as long as...they don't need to stand straight up..without support. Floppy vines are where I be

**** Did I mention: the kind of vapor this plant produces...primo

Morning Brings...

Morning Brings...

me indoors...transplanting my way in the Hell Mox rotation. Slept late...all the way to 7:29..surprising the exhaustions of my labor, runs, and the lunar cycle. Digging out..then rocking a wall...running trails in recklessness...watching the seasons change...listening to the many woes of friends I've known. I don't even like picking up the phone............

^ left to right: 3 Hell Hound IX1s and a Mox Mox IX1. These girls are being transplanted into their 5 gal smart pots. Topped already...more than once. Probably only veg them for a another wk or so...then flower

* The Hell Hounds are way more vigorous/fast plants. Most the Mox Mox are below average plants in veg. I think that most expressions will only show their vigor....in flower...whereas the Hell Hounds...even though a couple weeks behind...are overgrowing with many vigorous expressions. Full throttle plants

** put into flower the other day a couple Mox Mox and a Hell Hound

*** the Hell Hound and Mox Mox males will be getting exiled out of the flower studio...probably tonight...as they are balling out..and starting to get unsafe

^ Some 64 day old samples of Satechism IX1...took them on the harvest moon...one from each sister...but left them standing. I'll give the sisters a couple more days...then chop

Good shit? Yup...pretty nice. I can see the Casey Jones in their flowers. They have a putrid aroma below fruit/berries. If you put your nose into the flowers and inhale...that putrid aroma turns into a throat reflex (not quite that...but you know)...

foul but desirable....early samples I've had...make for...great vapor

Girth and Revelations

Girth and Revelations

2 days ago....I did a final feeding of the "Scrub" plant.

Gave her: 12oz of Pure Blend Bloom and 4oz of Sweet mixed directly into many gallons of hose flowing water

All "Landing" manicuring is done...all feeding is done...letting her go until ripeness or weather comes into play

Girth:

^ She's still blowing out. I'd expect that for the next week...she'll be gaining weight. With the manicure job...and the way she is spread/staked/tied...she appears as a cacti if you are more than...20' away. Smells a bit stronger than any cacti I'm aware of...but it's a neat optical illusion just the same

Revelation:

I can easily see and smell Odessa (Casey Jones X Cindy Jones) in this plant. I have no doubts.

She may be an Odessa outcross...but for sure...there is Odessa in her. My original guess (because I'd tossed many of those seeds out there) that she was a Tweedy IX1 X Odessa IX1 or Odessa IX1 X Tweedy IX1....is probably...accurate.

Tweedy = Mango Haze X F13 (a cross made by Retardo)

....it appears that I can't get away from Odessa/Casey Jones type expressions. That's cool...as the more I work with them...the better they get. I can keep working them toward my preference...and things should continue..to perform

Agen da s

Agen da s

Starting flush tomorrow (Day 54) will be Strange Days (left) and the Queen Mox clone (right).......onto Clearex...after having been dosed heavy with P for the last couple weeks

^ 70+ days is....a reasonable flight plan

Below are the two Satechism IX1 sisters now on day 66...and being left to dry out (quit watering them yesterday). I can cut these at any time...more or less..fitting their harvest into my schedule

^ I've harvested off them on days 57, 62, and 64. Already have a nice sized box of flowers..that I'm able to vaporize. I enjoy vaporizing up a plant...that is still alive...so say...I can be high on her..as I watch her...finish up.

* Multiple harvesting off plants can be very enlightening...or at least a spread of the trim load ////////////////////////////////

Males...I've moved the Hell Hound IX1s and Mox Mox IX1s into exile

^ pulled them out last night...as you can see...they are getting close to letting loose. Same as always....I'll flower the boys under natural light...in the house or on the deck

Be collecting the pollen....not at all...unblended unseparated

Got to keep things moving along....for sure. Here's some tops off one of the Satechism IX1 females. Cut these this morning...as I have some time to manicure.

* Trying to figure out what I want to grow next. Sounds funny...but man...it is a commitment enveloping many months of my time.

Considering a run of Killer Chemdog IX2 or Mox Krox IX1 or Joy Division IX1....

something has to get sprouted for winter. I know that come spring...I'll be doing runs of Hell Mox

And so it begins....a Killer Chemdog Binge

And so it begins....a Killer Chemdog Binge

I was going through my collection of beans...wow. My golly gee...I was not aware of all the things I'd done. There's some way cool shit in there...that I totally forgot about.

* If you make your own stuff...make sure you find the time to grow it

I decided to run:

Killer Chemdog IX1

Cindy Dog F1 (C99BX X Killer Chemdog)

Killer Chemdog IX2

No rules....no order...pinches of beans...all going into the same shot glass of RO water. Whatever comes up...

* Killer Chemdog (Reservoir) had a lot of fanfare upon release. If I recall correctly...it was made with the Chem D clone and Killer Queen. I'll have to look it up...but that sounds about right

EDIT: I looked it up...Killer Chemdog = Killer Queen (Rez's cut) X Chemdog (from the inline projects???)

Anyway....it never seemed to catch on with the masses...but I purchased it knowing I wanted to make further generations...thinking that....there must be more than a few...trophy expressions.

I liked the stuff in the F1 and in the F2....have never grown the F3s...but I'm sure they will provide for my needs. Most positive that I selected well for the incrosses.

** The Cindy Dog....I made...but have never grown. Honestly...I don't remember making the beans...but I'm sure (like the Killer Chem)...I documented it in one of my threads. I believe I used a short flowering pineapple expression to mother the cross. These beans must be...at least 3yrs old....maybe older..I'd have to look back to know...might be more like 4yrs old

EDIT: I checked my old thread in the Reservoir forum....it seems I used both a grapefruit and a pineapple C99BX expression to make Cindy Dog (actually from here on out the cross is called Cindy Kill Dog)...and the beans were made back in '10

Other Killer Chemdog outcrosses were to Chem DD (Deliah), Mental Floss, Blue Moonshine, Casey Jones, Wonder Haze, Querkle S1, and and...and I think that's all that was hit with KC pollens. Anyway...I've grown some of those..already incrossed one of them...funny to come back after a few years pass. A few years in my garden....is a life time

*** Price of admission was $150...1 pac is all I had to work with (10 beans). From 10 came many

Floating....pinches fresh into soak

Every bean a new chance...

I always wanted to grow Strawberry Diesel...should have gotten the beans way back when. I remember them being sold for $40 or something...and still..I didn't pull the trigger. Mistake on my part.

Ran with the wife this morning....and will be getting out again..in the early morning. Be running solo tomorrow. I've been hammering the trails lately...running strong.

I discovered that the handles on my dip bars (on my workout tree) are the perfect size for digging knots out of my back, neck, and shoulders. Hurts like a bastard..and takes some time to do (and a day of recovery)..but they really work in loosening up muscles.

With a looser muscles...I get more mobility/flex. Helpful as hell...
