Hi Maxi nice job looks very tasty good to see the traditional Malawi is being grown and cured properly. i hope you find the method to your taste.
Tangwena
Definitly find the method to my taste, thx again,, I will probably use it to all my varieties from now on.
Also it takes much less space, seems to be able to last forever, the bud brick u see in the pick is as hard as possible and weight around 14gr. And unless you crack the brick open it does not smell as much as it normally should.
My pheno induces sleepiness as never seen before. Not couhlocky or zombie like weed,,,, u just blink your eyes for what you think like .5 second and 2h went by....
The only drawback for most of my friends is that it's so packed together than most people use mucho more weed than needed when they smoke and malawi is probably not the best weed to overuse....lol
I ll go with golden tiger next time to be a little more alive when I smoke. Anyway nice work here Dubi.
Hi Maxi you said it, just one or two deep tokes on a pin joint is all you need, you have to adjust your smoking habits ha ha. Its easy to overdo it before you realise you have had to much, I really like the cobs on electric/trippy up weed it gives a very much deeper effect to it.
That is why I have both cob and dried/jar cured from the same plant for the different effects.
I am looking forward to cobbing my current GT grow at harvest, the zamaldelica cob I made is dangerously strong and in my opinion better than the dried/jar cured buds from the same plant that I have.
I have to say you guys on the forum have done some very good cobs, I have seen a few others that looked good to.
A bit of experimenting with different cure times and sweating times will see different results untill you get it how you like it personaly.
Respect.

wow BM-504,
it's time to visit ya
well done these magic cakes...
just bought yesterday the ingredients for my Malawi cookies ;-)
i have to make cookies now because the Malawi will be gone if i don't start yet... would be great to share some recipes here...
i always use cannabis butter to make my cookies... recipe is attached...
i start with my personal fav:
MadMac's Magic Cakes
250g butter < take bio butter possible
500g Köllns Echte Kernige (oatmeal)
1 pck vanilla sugar
200g sugar
3-4 fresh eggs
1 teaspoon Baking powder
50g meal > type 405 > like u use for pizza
heat the butter and put in Köllns Echte Kernige and mix it gently.
Now let it go cold. In the meantime mix sugar, vanilla sugar and egg's until you get lather... now put meal and baking powder in and mix it gently...
Now you are ready to make your own sized cookies!
heat the oven 180°C
make your cookies on the baking tray and put the baking tray in middle position... wait for around 15min... cookies are yellow not brown... then they are ready... let them cool out and enjoy...
Well i use good cocoa to stip the half cookie in... then dry and store.
well everybody loves these recipe ... young and old... hehe
if you do it all right than there is no smell or flavor from weed only vanilla flavor....
you will get 35 pieces...
here is my canna butter recipe:
Marijuana butter, or cannabutter, is the foundation of pretty much all cannabis cooking. Knowing how to make it will ensure that everything you cook has the potential to deliver you a great, vibrant buzz.
It should be noted that there are quite a few recipes to make cannabis butter, the following is just one of many.
First of all a warning. Cooking with fats and water can be very dangerous if you are clumsy or unprepared. It is highly recommended that you wear long sleeved clothing and gloves that can deal with heat. If you do not, you run the risk of burning yourself - which we take no responsibility for.
It is possible to make cannabis butter with your bud, but many people see this as a waste of perfectly good smoking material. Alternatively, you can use the offcuts and trimmings from your harvest. This will allow you to make a marijuana butter that still has a decent kick, without eating into your personal stores. When selecting your offcuts and trimmings, it is important to prioritize leaves. Theses have a much higher cannabinoid content that stems or branches due to having a higher concentrate of trichomes. This is not to say you should not use stems or branches. These can still be added in, it will do no harm whatsoever and can bulk up the amount you produce.
Skill level: Intermediate
Preperation time: 30 minutes
Cooking time: 3 hours - full day
You will require:
Marijuana
Cooking pots
A Blender
Butter
Water
A cooker
Wooden Spoon
Sieve x 2 (and possibly cheese cloth depending on how finely you blend you marijuana)
Plastic containers
1. To prepare your weed you will need to grind it up as much as possible. This will increase potential surface area and allow for a much better reaction when the time comes to meld it with butter. The best way we have found to do this is by using a food blender. You can turn whole bags of trimmings into a fine paste in a matter of minutes.
The way the process of making cannabis butter works is by bonding the oils of cannabis with the oils from the butter using heat - effectively merging the two separate entities become one. This is why it is important to get as much surface area as possible. More surface area equals more cannabis oil, which means better butter.
2. Next choose a cooking pot that you can fill to 1/3 capacity with your blended marijuana. If you are making a small batch, then choose a small pot; if you are making a big one, then choose a big pot/multiple pots in accordance.
3. Next add sticks of butter and water into your pots at a 1:4 ratio. So for every 250g stick of butter you add, add in one litre of water (1000 ml). Do this until you fill all pots you are using to 2/3 capacity.
4. It is important to use the previous pot capacity measurements (1/3 and 2/3 respectively) because you are going to be adding heat to this mix very soon. Once the mix begins to boil you are going to be having scorching fats and oils bubbling all over the place. If you fill your pots too much you are likely to put the warning we placed at the top of this article into good use. Boiling fats and oils are going to go everywhere, burning you and making an absolute mess of your kitchen.
5. Now that you have a weed and butter “soup” in your pots it is time to start heating them up. There are two opposing options here, with options being hotly debated. You can either bring you water to a very high temperature causing a fast and violent boil, or you can hit 100 degrees Celsius and boil it slowly. Violent boiling will be much faster, but you run the risk losing THC and CBD particles in the accelerated evaporation/vaporization. Lower boils will take much longer, but you are likely to lose less THC and CBD, (see our articles on vaporizing your cannabis for more information on this process and the temperatures that cause it). Advocates of the faster method will say the loss is minimal to non-existent, whereas those who prefer a slow boil will argue the opposite. We recommend experimenting and doing what you feel gets you the best results.
6. As you boil the mixture, stir it regularly with you wooden spoon and keep topping it up with water when it reduces by half the original volume. Depending on the speed you boil it will dictate how frequently you have to do this.
7. You know your butter is ready when you see a separation in the liquid, with a decent layer of oil floating on the top. This can take anywhere from 3 hours to a whole day.
8. Once you have this, strain the liquid into a container, removing the blended marijuana. Take this marijuana, and with gloves on, hand squeeze it over the container and another sieve to get additional oil out of it. There will be quite a lot left in the weed you have taken out – you should be able to get some substantial amounts out of it.
9. Once you are done with the blended marijuana, you can put it aside for use in future endeavours, (should you wish). It can be used as a part of a salad dressing or a spread to supplement your other foods. It will still have a small amount of cannabinoids in it, so you can still put it to use if you are someone who wants to get the absolute maximum from your cannabis crops.
10. You are now left with a container that has a layer of cannabis butter oils on top of a layer of water. Place the container in the fridge overnight. This will solidify the oils into your final cannabutter.
11. When you come back the next day, carefully remove the layer of cannabis butter from the container. Be careful not to spill any of the water by-product or drop the butter into it, it can make a nasty mess.
12. Now that you have your marijuana butter, you can store it in the fridge. It should last about 2 weeks or so before it begins to go off. If you want it to last longer, you can store it in the freezer for use at you own leisure. Bear in mind you will have to let it thaw before use though, so it is best to cut it into portion sized chunks before you freeze it. This will mean that you do not have to thaw your entire stock when you want to use some.
There you have it! You now have cannabis butter ready for use as base for all of your other cannabis cooking needs, or for simply using as a lovely buttery spread!
Extra Tip: It is also possible to flavour your cannabis butter for extra utility and taste. It can be enhanced with all manner of things, from fruits, sugars, spices and savoury herbs depending on how you plan to use it. Some favourite additions for tasty, savoury cannabutters are garlic, thyme or basil. Those looking for a spicy kick can add in chilli powder, pepper, hot sauce or 5 spice. Fruity cannabis butter can be made by adding such things as orange, lemons or apples. If you want to turn it into a sweet butter then consider adding sugar, coco powder or even crushed candy.
The possibilities are limitless, and because you are going to be making your cannabis butter from bits that would have otherwise ended up in the bin or on the compost heap, you don’t have anything to lose – don't be afraid to experiment and make the tastiest butter you can!
I can only imagine... I smoked maybe half a gram of my Malawi last night and it was like I was smoking for the first time again... I mean, I barely knew who I was and my thoughts were going so fast I had no clue what was happening in reality. It was great!
Im high for the whole day already off a tiny taste of my rick simpson oil.... Now I think, hmmmm.... if you made the oil with strait up malawi.... Might be high for a week!
I find with these strong sativas the deep tripping high from chewing the buds is way better than smoking, also when cooking the cookies you loose a lot of the high from the thc being vaporised during the baking if the oven temps are too high.
Long cured, chewed raw, or extracted into coconut butter at low temps say 80c to 90c are the most heavenly way to trip on this wonderful grass IMO.

I made butter a few months ago... water,2 sticks of unsalted butter (8oz's), a bit of cinnamon into a crockpot... I added 1oz of some nice sdkush 'buds'... after about 1hr I stirred it and had 2 nice size buds sitting on the counter, as well as some kif... I threw both into the mix.. cooked everything for about 9hrs, strained into a large bowl, and into the fridge overnite... next day cracked the butter, drained the black water, and added hot water and mixed again, and back into fridge.. after 4days of the process, the water was clear..
made 11 cookies with 44grams of the butter (4grams each)... I ate one.... the worse experience I had in decades... I was so fuk'd, I couldn't move... I mean I was comatose...
Hi Zack I have stopped making decarbed butter or bakeing cookies for that very reason.
One batch of decarbed coconut butter was like taking 10 asprin totaly shit, yet the raw chewed bud was awesome.
I now do not decarb or bake anything it totaly destroys the high if you get the temps wrong and thats easy to do especialy in an oven.
Long cured chewed bud washed down with a cup of tea is tripping at its best, provided it was good bud in the first place. I have silver haze, nevilles haze, C99 ect all only effect me for about an hour and then taper off.
The GT and Zamaldelica last for up to 5 hours easily, the first 3 hours is very very intense and thats what I love.
But it all depends on the buds, how they were grown, when they were harvested and most importantly how they were cured and for how long.
If you dont get all the steps right then it is not a fair comparison
Best regards Tangwena
