I took plant F down at 10.5 weeks and the rest of them at 13 weeks.

Most are still drying, I have smoked F and it is very stoney I did take some dry pics but they were out of focus. Will reshoot some pic soon.

The next one I tried is Plant C I grabbed the lowest smallest bud and did a huge bong hit and was very pleasantly surprised....wasted and long lasting....lol.

Today I rolled up a small joint and took 2 hits and went to work...mistake.

I can see Zandarr and Tang's love affair with this stuff. Not the prettiest girls at the dance compared to GG4 or Sours or SFV OG but this stuff pack a punch like no other.

Dubi is pretty much spot on with his strain descriptions.

Looking forward to the next few weeks to sample them all.

The one small minus for me is F and C smell better than they taste so far.

No I'm loving this, plants 4 weeks into 11/13, just now finishing stretch and starting to stack. Very low odor, highly recommend for outdoor or neighborhood grows for this reason. Usually my house is reeking at this point in a grow, even with a big carbon filter, but it's like I'm not even growing.

Here is a picture from last week, 4 plants each from seed. Three of them are nice sativa style, one is a short and stumpy indica looking one. They are not too hungry but drink a lot of water.

awesome genetics, every plant has high potency. not much in smells, only 1 sweet smelling one, the rest are woody/earthy.
what a rush smoking! i usually smoke hash everyday, but since i started smoking malawi i have not smoked any hash.

everyone else is looking awesome in here as well.

Congrats on the Malawi harvest Corpsey :)

I'm glad you are pleased with her effects and potency, you are right ... Malawi aromas are mainly earthy/woody, it's the classic terpene profile of this african line (and many others africans too), although you can find a few sweeter Malawis in the line, it's the sweet carrot/mandarine Malawi pheno.

Thanks for sharing your experience, wish you enjoy it! :tiphat:

Congrats also on your Malawi harvest BM-504 ;)

I'm glad you are finding the line strong and close the the strain description. Please, let them cure properly for at least 3 months, then i'm sure that you will be really impressed with the improvement of the potency and its complexity and long lasting effects. Have a great summer time!

Nice Malawi net, stevewinthrop :)

I think it's a very proper way to grow Malawi indoors without having height issues.

You are right about the low odour of this sativa, it's a very stealth plant in that sense. The friend who gave me the Malawi genetics (RIP) always told me: just 1 skunk plant stinks more than a 100 hundred of Malawis in the same place, and he was right.

But Malawi hits much stronger than any skunk or modern kush.

Best wishes for the flowering!

Purple Malawi mother

Purple Malawi mother

Here's the Purple Malawi mother (Violeta's mother) growing in guerrilla style between the orange fields.

It was planted from clone in 1st week of June, and in the first half of July it was already reaching 2 meters.

Hi All, I've been lurking around the ACE threads for some time. Doing a second grow of some Kali Mist at the moment, which is the nicest herb I've grown. I just bought a 10 pack of Panama, and a 5 pack each of Zamaldelica, Tikal and Purple Haze Thai. Really looking forward to growing these. Panama will be first I think, as it will complement the energetic buzz of the Kali nicely. I got some African Buzz by Seedsman as freebies and was wondering if anyone here can compare them with ACE Malawi and tell me if they are worth spending the time growing out. I will definitely get ACE Malawi in the future but passed it up for the Zamal this time.

Hey dubi or whoever else has experience with malawi, I need some advice.

I had some hfh semi-autos in my tent this spring flowering while my malawis were vegging. To help the autos finish I was running 15/9 and the malawis seemed to be vegging vigorously for the month or so. I then dropped it down to 14/10 for the last 3 weeks and the malawis seemed to be really close to flowering but mostly just mature as they were over 2 months from germ. Once in 12/12 (june 24) they seemed to kick into flowering super quick without as much stretch as I was expecting, almost compareable to bangi haze and the flowers formed at the rate of your average 10 week hybrid.

So my question: do you think that the 14/10 was short enough to help them start flowering and should I count it as weeks of flowering? I am trying to get a feel for when I should stop feeding as I feed with slower release organics. They are still throwing lots of pistils but one's calyxes are swelling alot and are super caked. She looks like she could only have 3 weeks left, which I suppose is possible but a 9-10 week pheno seems a bit quick for a pure sativa.

Mine didn't stretch much at all either, and I went from 24/7 to 11/13 overnight, I would count from the time you flipped to flower, not the 14 hour light cycle

Was checking the trichomes (8 weeks) today and one has a few buds that were 50% amber, looked to overall be 15-20% though- but her buds dont look finished. One has more like 10% but is the most caked, thickest buds and most swolen calyxes. The last hasnt started to fade like the other 2 and has much slimmer buds with alot more fresh hairs; could easily see her going to 14 weeks.

I gave them a neem spray 2 weeks ago and it made a good amount of hairs go orange. I also gave them a little too strong of a top dressing which has just caught up in the last few days, so I am thinking maybe the stress is causing the early amber? I hope the 2 will keep going strong and give me 3 or 4 more weeks but I am tempted to start cutting some of the super amber nugs off, although they are throwing a few more hairs.

So I'm kinda stumped on this one? Could use some advice.

Why would you spray buds with neem oil? Have you smoked neem oil before? It's not pleasant :/ it's a lot worse than smoking bugs.

My guess is the neem caused the trichomes to turn amber.

I was super careful when I sprayed not to get the buds and it was only 6 weeks in with an expected 6+ weeks to go. When I use neem I notice the smell on the plants for a week or so and not much longer so I asume it is mostly broken down after that; but I never spray with less then 6 weeks to harvest.

Also each plant is still going at its own pace so it looks a little more natural then I would expect a big shock to look like. It's kindof funny, the most amber plant is the one I soaked the most because she had less developed buds. It probly played a role but I don't think it was the main factor.

Should I feed a little and hope for more clear trichs, white hairs and 4 more weeks of development?

I have found that Ace sativas are best when the plants are pulled after every white hair has died back. Odds are you sped up flowering slightly by simulating late July, but I'm pretty sure Malawis won't flower under 14/10 - or if they do it'll take like 20 weeks. Outdoors, plants stretch as the hours roll down, so you probably got most of the stretch out of the way during that period.
